10:06 AM, Off the coast of Prince Andrew's Island

Deep in Lerodas's crust, a time bomb was ticking. The Cape Cardinalian and the Greater Vanhanian tectonic plates were under tremendous pressure and they had finally reached their breaking points. All of a sudden, the Cape Cardinalian plate slips over the Vanhanian plate violently just off the coast of some of Cape Cardinal's biggest cities. The P waves of the earthquake rush towards shore at an incredible speed and set off dozens of the Cape Cardinalian Meteorological service's earthquake sensors in the ocean. Alarms go off at the CCMS's headquarters in Kingston and an automated earthquake alert is sent out to the millions of cell phones, televisions, computers and radio stations in the affected area. In Seward's famous Jubilee square, the massive television screens and electric billboards all begin broadcasting the warning.

Moments after the warning is sent out, the S waves come ashore. The earth shakes violently and the skyscrapers in the cities affected start to sway. All automated public trains come to a stop and cars on the expressways slow down and pull to the side. The ground shakes for 6 minutes and 30 seconds. When the shaking finally stops, the damage is minimal. Earthquakes are common in this region and most buildings are built earthquake proof. But the earthquake is not the real danger. The massive tsunami that resulted from the earthquake was barrelling down on the cities of Warren, Margaree and most of Westminster province's south coast.

People scrambled to get out of the danger zone before the tsunamis hit but some were still caught in the destruction when the giant wave reached shore. When the tsunami passed and the waters receded, downtown Margaree and Warren were flooded. Agricultural land along Westminster's south coast became ruined and houses and offices in smaller towns and cities were washed away. The destruction was great and the loss of life is significant.
The military has been sent in to maintain order and to help with the cleanup. It will surely be a long time until this devastated region rebounds fully.
