We've been getting a lot of spammers recently. I'm beginning to wonder if there's a secret plot...

The spam is getting kind of ridiculous from a region that is trying to create a narrative that we're the immature and irrational invaders with no respect for the sovereignty of other regions.

Esquarium beckons you to join it. You will join a friendly region, full of around 200 players, who are of various interests: gameplayers, roleplayers and debaters. You will be treated as a friend, and you will get into the community.

The mother has cast you out, Esquarium shall be a friend who no matter in times of crisis shall take care of you.

So. Much. Suppression.

Stahp the spam. ;c;

You should put your kilt back on. I notice less spam when you are wearing that.

*puts kilt back on*

Whatever works, I guess...

does that mean you weren't wearing anything before hand :O

Cormac a stark

Of course not! I'm sure I was wearing whatever it is that a Pharaoh usually wears. :P

And what prey Mr Stark tell would that be? Minus the traditional "don't eff with me" scowl?

Oh come on Luz, you're better than adspamming.

Cormac a stark

I'm not really sure. I think it looks similar to a kilt, actually. :P

I prefer wearing a fez.

Cormac a stark wrote:The West Pacific considers game-side and forum government separate, though some consider the two interdependent. Game-side, the Delegate has absolute authority over the region although the Guardians, which exist to maintain regional security, also serve the purpose of keeping the Delegate in check which limits the potential for the kind of behavior you might expect to see in an autocracy. This is why I've described their system as an oligarchy; it isn't as simple as autocracy, because the Guardians have at least implied input in the direction of the region as they are the most likely to be able to unseat a Delegate.

TWP also acknowledges a right of rebellion -- though the Delegate can take measures to thwart rebellions (e.g., ejection and ban) -- and considers its system democratic in that native WA nations must endorse a new Delegate in order for him or her to become Delegate. This is really more of a confirmation than an election though. The Delegate chooses his or her own successor (though the choice can be made in a variety of ways, and I think forum elections have decided it at times), so it's really the outgoing Delegate who elects a new Delegate while the region's WA nations "confirm" the new Delegate with their endorsements.

This system has provided a great deal of game-side stability for TWP in recent years. Its forum community, on the other hand, hasn't been that active, though the differentiation between game-side and forum government may not be the reason for that. Prior to All Good People, some of his predecessors tended to have other priorities -- notably the NationStates Republic, which drew attention away from TWP's community to try to make that idea work.

That's very interesting. Thank you Mr. Stark

Good analysis of TWP, Cormac ... I have always considered the region a Constitutional Monarchy (and pushed a long time ago to make it such based on something I once read in the Declaration of Arbroath ..."Yet if he should give up what he has begun, and agree to make us or our kingdom subject to the King of England or the English, we should exert ourselves at once to drive him out as our enemy and a subverter of his own rights and ours, and make some other man who was well able to defend us our King; for, as long as but a hundred of us remain alive, never will we on any conditions be brought under English rule. It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom — for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself."). The Rebellion Clause is an Inherent and Immutable Right in TWP regardless of the governmental style, however, and the whole concept is in full agreement with the mechanics of the Game.
