On behalf of the region, I thank you. I'll send you a TG, explaining current electoral procedure, tomorrow.
We still need one more volunteer, either to complete the membership of the Election Commission or to replace Bears Armed Mission as the second candidate for Delegate (needed so that we can actually have a contested election for a change) in which case I'll take the EC job again instead.

No more volunteers?
:(
I suppose we can extend the deadline by one more day, but in my opinion longer than that would be getting a bit much. If nobody steps forward during the next 28 hours then, as the lack of a full Election Commission would mean that we couldn’t hold a contested election properly, I’ll stand down as a candidate and Sciongrad — as the only candidate remaining — will then automatically become Delegate.
If we do have a contested election then Cuaco, having dropped WA membership at some point during the last few days, is no longer eligible to vote.
Come on folks, let's get one more volunteer. I got a short introduction to the job, and it's really not very overwhelming. You'll get lots of regional goodwill, and a handsome amount honey as well, I'll wager.
Malabra, I have seen your application to join CIDUS: however, I'm fairly certain my term as SecGen has long expired, so I think it's best to wait until after the election/delegate changeover to sort it out.
The Empire of Grellania has seen fit to run for the Delegate position.
Ruth Corvin,
President of the Grellanian Imperium
Hi there, IDU, this is Kanoria of the SLU, I have been elected to our minister of foreign affairs position, and just wanted to let you know. Also elected were Mons garle to the domestic affairs position and Vernima to immigration. I hope the IDU is doing well. Feel free to contact me or our ambassador to you!
The election for Delegate is now open.
Voting is open for one full week from now.
Candidates = Sciongrad, Grellania.
Eligible voters = ears Armed Mission, Bellopax, Eenen, Great Bellium, (Grellania), Herpothamnus, Hyrkatria, Lumeau, Malabra, New Cleveland, Saltatio, (Sciongrad), The Dark Star Republic, Toumba... The candidates will be presumed to have voted for themselves unless they say otherwise.
Vote by logging in to our regional forum and sending a PM through there addressed to 'The Ballot Box', then post in the thread http://s10.zetaboards.com/IDU/topic/7534575/1/ to say that you have voted so that people will know how many votes in total have been cast.
Election Committee: The Dark Star Republic, Gnejs, Bears Armed.
Hooray! It's been a very long time since we've had a contested election. Best of luck to Grellania, and many thanks to those that volunteered to be members of the election committee.
Remember folks, you need an account on our forum if you're going to vote. I'll check the list of members about once a day to see whether anybody else has applied.
We're about halfway through the election period, and so far only one of you (not counting the actual candidates, who are automatically presumed to be voting for themselves) has actually voted...
This is slightly disappointing.
Candidates are free to make campaign speeches, of course...
Hi everybody, as you all know, I'm hoping to represent you guys in the World Assembly once more, and I'd be remiss if I didn't share with you what my plans are.
As this election pretty clearly demonstrates, the largest issue we face as a region is stagnation. This is pretty clearly a flaw in what our forum has to offer, but it also might be that the limited number of active players in our region prevents those things that are forum does offer from being enjoyed optimally. So as delegate, my plan for breathing some life into the community has two prongs: an aggressive and constant recruitment campaign, which I plan to carry out with a telegram script, and brainstorming and implement some new forum activities that might spark some activity. CIDUS is actually something that I feel would be quite popular if only we had more nations to participate, for example, so a focused campaign of recruitment and reform should really provide the impetus needed to stimulate activity.
However, while our forum activity can be described as sleepy, our GA legislative activity is unparalleled. Active use of our own forums for drafting and helping those of us who haven't yet but would like to participate in the GA is something I would very much like to see. On top of that, as a player, I've formed several relationships with large regions that would allow us to really capitalize on the influence of the gameplay world and solidify our role as the GA giants of the game. We have the resources to become a well known region with massive influence and a unified sense of regional identity, and I know that with a little bit of effort we can achieve that.
If anyone has some questions about policies I haven't addressed or would like clarification on what I've already said, feel free to ask.
“Hrarroom!” ( = “Greetings”), and a hearty "Welcome to the IDU", for Ulada.

I'm not voting. But I endorse Sciongrad.
Just one hour left until the close of voting...
Voting is now closed.
The votes have been tallied and all three members of the Electoral Commission have confirmed the vote. 4 votes were received, in addition to the candidates' votes, with the final tally:
Sciongrad - 4
Grellania - 2
As such Sciongrad is declared the winner. Congratulations to him, and thank you to Grellania for taking part, to Bears and Gnejs for serving as ECs, and to everyone for voting. Finally, thanks to Lumeau for serving as delegate for the last two terms.
Please would all WA members in the region endorse Sciongrad as soon as possible, and if necessary temporarily remove their endorsement from Lumeau to speed the delegate changeover.
Congratulations, Sciongrad!
It has come to the attention of the Grellania that we are the WA Delegate currently, which has to be corrected.
Oops. I've temporarily withdrawn my endorsement from Grellania.
Thank you! (sincerely!)
