If the Yes vote does somehow win (I regard it as unlikely), then you can kiss the UK's carriers goodbye.

I dunno about that, we could probably still maintain the one (as is the current plan IIRC) since England alone makes up like 80% of the UK GDP etc.

Anyone want to take bets on how long it would take the American to be Lynched by the Scots for turning up in a kilt?

I'd be a little more worried about the ones that show up as William Wallace.

Seeing as how he ended being beaten, I wouldn't worry to much about him.

You severely underestimate the power of Brave Heart.

Fixed that for you. :P

1/2 Scotish and 1/2 Irish have three kilts to my name, think they accept me.

Yeah, but your an American no? Smells very plasticish to me :P.

You can take our lives, but you can never take our sheep!

That's Wales, Mac...

Yeah American but my family history puts my fam in the fight with the English for independance.

Almost every American can trace there ancestry back to one of the old European superpowers (You're welcome USA!). And if not then the native American blood will have almost certainly been diluted by mixed-european 'white man' blood over the past several generations.

To quash any misconceptions people may have, Wales is not a country - it be a Principality, this view was also shared on the CIA World Factbook, when they didn't include Wales on the map! :'D

Monaco is also a Principality. As are Andorra and Lichtenstein. Being a principality has no particular bearing on sovereignty or otherwise.

I always thought Wales' largest export is princesses. Like Russian wives, but luxury.

United gordonopia

This, exactly this :P Different parts German, Austrian, Swiss, Scottish, French, and English...

But they are legitimate de facto principality states. Wales, as a Principality, exists only as an honorary title because the heir to the British Crown is granted the title Prince of Wales. The original prince of Wales when it was a genuine principality bent the knee to the English Crown in 1284 when Wales was officially annexed by England.

Laws in Wales Acts 1535–1542 legally bound Wales to England and to an extent still does because the repelling Act in the 90s focused more on law and language. Wales has very, very few devolved powers.

Wales, as a 'principality', is very different to Monaco and Lichtenstein... they're independent. The Act of the Union Alex Salmon hates so much is only between the Kingdoms of England and Scotland.

Going to peruse Welsh markets. Bbl.

Sorry guys, had a crap fueled weekend, will have to wait a few days on getting responses up.

Had a great movie marathon on Netflix. Mad Max followed by 1941 and ended with the original Red Dawn. I can get used to having the house to myself.

Photos of the SLR I'm getting, thinking of perhaps calling it 'Beth'.

I don't suppose that you have some place to shoot Beth? Or would UK gun laws prohibit it?

Not only would it be heavily illegal, it would be impossible because I think he said it was decommissioned.

I dig Boris Johnson's haircut

Morrdh:

The Firearms Act 1968 has everything you need to know: http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1968/27/contents

More applicable to your circumstances is Part II: http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1968/27/part/II

Should the weapon be improperly decommissioned then don't buy it, if it comes to light afterwards that there are parts of the decommission are 'questionable' then the 1982 Amendment would apply: http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1982/31/section/1

Its deactivated.

Now if it worked properly and had been converted to .22 then possibly after going through getting a permit.
