The game is in a different code to the forum. While the game is in pearl (seriously who still uses that, besides NS and...oh...me?) and the forum is in php.
Its not a matter of 'still' using it, more that thats what they wrote it in 13 years ago and the effort required to totally overhaul is too much effort to be worth it for a volunteer team of like two coders :P
Plus, remember when they allowed images on myspace? I can see images on the RMB getting real annoying real quick.
What's the NS world fair, if I might ask?
It's an off-forum event where regions get to display their IC and OOC culture, players lecture on different topics (here's an example:
