Can you believe that Homestuck has ended? What will some people do?
I live in Canada but I was born in Turkey and am part Turkish. Visit Turkey. It's beautiful. I recommend you also visit other areas like the Aegean, like Izmir, Ephesus, Sirince, Pamukkale, and the beaches there like those in Bodrum and Fethiye. Or the Black Sea, like Safranbolu (where my family originates), Trabzon. Or the Mediterranean with its beaches and Antalya. And last but not least, Cappadocia in central Turkey. Most people go there and come back with positive memories.
And, Turkey is just as safe as any other Western country, as long as you're careful. Just don't go to the southeast or east. I hate it when people think Turkey is like Iraq just because there are some protests and terrorism. The Gezi Protests are pretty much over now and only really happen in Taksim. You should just watch out, like in the US. Like in New York, be careful at night in the shabbier areas. Nobody goes to Paris thinking is it safe, but there is also a lot of crime there, lots of pickpockets. Some even attempted to approach us. Nothing bad has ever happened to me in Turkey except for a small car accident (it was a scratch) and some old man trying to push me aside (but he looked really old, he could have been mentally ill).
