Introduction
The Great Wars of Swarikia was a terrible time for the different clans and tribes in Swarikia, this period of war lasted from 421 to 501. The Great Wars are a series of wars that are linked to each other because of one man and his conquest for unity. The Great Wars however started long before this man was even a man. In 421 the first of the Great Wars broke out between the extinct cousins of the Urut Kij; the Marook Tribe of orcs clashed with the Yalen Tribe. Many other wars followed in the coming years where the Marook, Trukak, and Yatiz orc tribes unified under one banner becoming the Wurdur Tribe.

The first war, The Marook War of Conquest sparked a series of events that would bring all of the clans and tribes of Swarikia to come against each other. These events would also mark the beginning of the formation of The Kingdom of Swarikia and the subsequent unification of all of the tribes and clans.

So let's begin our journey with the smallest war yet the most significant...The Marook War of Conquest

The Marook War of Conquest; 421-422

Battle of Murig Creek, 421, Month of the Raven(October)

In the Month of the Raven a host of six hundred orcs from the Marook Tribe marched across the Murig Creek into Yalen territory. This was nothing to be surprised about for the orcs always sent smaller raiding parties into the human territories to plunder unsuspecting villages. However, the host of six hundred was not a raiding party it was an advance army that would clear a path for a much larger force.

On the 10th, the Marooks crossed the Murig Creek and engaged a force of Yalen led by Jara Sven a leader of a nearby village and Jarl Wenja the Fair's champion. He led a small force of only two hundred and fifty men;two hundred infantry and fifty archers, against the invading orcs. He was not expecting the host of Marooks to be larger than a hundred let alone be at a force of six hundred. In the early morning hours the battle began with the orcs charging the human defenders. The battle lasted roughly an hour before Jara Sven ordered a retreat. Just before the retreat of the humans the Marook commander, Gruor the Impaler, ordered that a detachment of one hundred orcs circle around the humans and attack from behind. As the humans were retreating they ran right into the detachment of orcs who luckily for the humans were still getting into formation, but the humans still suffered great casualties in their retreat. Of the two hundred and fifty warriors who marched out to meet the orcs in battle only twenty eight survived, Jara Sven being one of them.

In the aftermath of the battle the Marooks raided the near by village that Sven was the leader of. Fortunately the occupants of the village fled but some were still trapped in the village when the Marooks plundered it. Even though the battle was not a very large one, it was significant in that a large host of orcs were now plundering through the southern territories of the Yalen Tribe unmatched.

Battle of Brudook Bridge, 421, Month of the Raven

With the defeat of Jara Sven's forces at the Battle of Murig Creek panic swept through the southlands of the Yalen Tribe. Many refugees fled north to the relative safety of Hurmuklaas or Trujka, there were three major bridges that led into the southlands from the north;Brudook, Jurkla, and Purnun. Each bridge had a detachment of three hundred heavy infantry and a couple hundred militia. Even though Yalen's standing army was a size of two thousand the Jarl and the village leaders mobilized the militias boosting the number of the standing army to around three thousand troops.

The Marook Tribe poured in a further two thousand orc warriors into the southlands and began building war camps for preparation to invade the north. In order to invade the north the Marook tribal leader Bruzor the Bold ordered that Gruor the Impaler lead a force of one thousand Marook warriors and raiders against the Yalen force defending Brudook Bridge. With roughly five hundred hundred troops defending the bridge the battle would be in the advantage of the Marooks yet again but the odds won't be so unbalance because of the defensive structure of the bridge.

The commander of the force at Brudook Bridge was a young man named Kelra the Proud. He was a modest nobleman and was given this command post because of his connections in Jarl Wenja's court, he however was beloved by his men as he led them with courage and knew how to muster them together. On the 25th of the Month of the Raven the army of Kelra the Proud and Gruor the Impaler engaged each other.

Kelra positioned his heavier infantry units at the entrance of the bridge so that they only stood ten men abreast. With archers on the opposite bank and behind the infantry and militia the Marook host had to squeeze against each other in order to storm across the bridge making the volley fire of the archers even more effective and deadly. At around mid-day the first assault on the bridge commenced with the full might of the Marook force. The horde crashed upon the small line of humans but were held at bay by the force of three hundred men pushing back. With volley fire from the archers turning in the flanks of the orcs and the savage brutality of Yalen Heavy Infantry pounding the Marook warriors on the front the orcs were turned back. Casualties were light for the Yalen force, the Marooks suffered even more with over two hundred dead or dying on the field of battle.

This early defeat enraged Gruor the Impaler and he ordered a second charge on the bridge this time with the Marook warriors being led by a vanguard of twenty Marook Hill Trolls. These massive creatures stood at ten feet and wielded massive axes that could crush a man in a blink of an eye. The Yalen Heavy Infantry suffered heavily despite having support from the archers. Once the Marook Hill Trolls broke their lines on the bridge the Yalens regrouped on their side of the river and began a counter attack which Kelra the Proud himself led from the front. In the first charge of the counter attack Kelra was killed by a Marook arrow to the left lung. His death enraged his men into a blind fury. The Yalen Heavy Infantry fought to the last man defending the bridge and the body of their commander. The militias however broke easily enough and soon the battle was lost. Both sides suffered massive casualties and the Marook orcs would take the set back the hardest as they were defeated at the other two bridges.

Battle of Hurmuklaas, 422, Month of the Snow Hare(January)-Month of the Serpent(February)

The Battle of Hurmuklaas was the second to last of the great battles fought in the Marook War of Conquest and would result in the extinction of a race and be the nail in the coffin for the Yalen forces. Following the defeats at the Bridges of Jurkla and Purnun the Marook army was stalled from invading the north for two and half months. This time allowed Jarl Wenja the Fair to resupply and fortify his positions at Jurkla, Purnun, and the city of Hurmuklaas north of the Brudook Bridge. With his army in dwindling in numbers Jarl Wenja determines that Hurmuklaas is the last bastion that the Marook have to take before they can fully defeat the Yalens and conquer their territory. On the 23rd of the Month of the Snow Hare, a force of one thousand and eight hundred soldiers and militiamen march to the city of Hurmuklaas and begin to fortify the city.

In the meanwhile Gruor the Impaler has been replaced with Frezin the Savage, who has direct orders from Bruzor the Bold to besiege Hurmuklaas. A force of three thousand Marook Orcs and a relatively new ally which was assimilated into the Marook Tribe, the Drakju goblins; the last of their kind, marched on Hurmuklaas. With a safe line for supplies to travel Frezin the Impaler set up camp outside the city and began a relentless bombardment with catapult and trebuchet. The human defenders hunkered down with in the city and prayed that rescue would come. After a month of constant bombardment and no results, Bruzor was growing impatient with Frezin and demanded that Hurmuklaas be taken immediately. Frezin promised Bruzor the city by the end of the Month of the Serpent. In preparation for the attack on the city Frezin ordered the Drakju goblins to begin building tunnels under the walls so that infantry can enter the city from below while a distraction happened on the walls. It took them ten days of non stop digging but they completed the tunnels.

On the 19th of the Month of the Serpent, Marook Orcs and Drakju Goblins attacked the walls of the city with ladders. The human defenders fought bravely and brutally to keep the orcs and goblins from entering the city. The humans did hold off the wall attacks however they were completely thrown off guard by the Orcs and Goblins coming from beneath the earth. There was bitter fighting in the streets between the Yalen army, the townsfolk who willing volunteered, and the Marook orcs. After two more days of bitter fighting every single human in the city was slain. It was the greatest loss of life the Yalens had occurred yet. Also the Drakju goblins were all killed in the fighting of the city, their entire tribe of one hundred and fifty seven were killed fighting for a city they did not care for. The Marook Tribe now had the key to the north they wanted and orc troops poured through Brudook Bridge. Several days later, Purnun Bridge fell and a day after Purnun fell Jurkla was captured by the Marook. Yalen now had no army to fight with, but the war was not over yet.

Jralaka Massacre, 422, Month of the Sparrow(May)

The last engagement between the remnant forces of the Yalen Tribe and the Marook Tribe of orcs. This battle takes place after the sacking Hurmuklaas three months prior. After their defeat at Hurmuklaas, Jarl Wenja the Fair orders that his people abandon their lands and head east into the relative safety of the human clans there. The Jarl's Champion, Jara Sven, survived through the war but feels betrayed by his Jarl and refuses to leave the lands he and his men have fought and died protecting. After minor infighting between Jarl Wenja and Jara Sven the two men depart ways, Jarl Wenja leads the remnants of the Yalen Tribe east while Jara Sven leads a force of four hundred volunteers to fight the Marook orcs.

Jara Sven's force and Frezin the Savage's force met each other on the 2nd day of the Month of the Sparrow at Jralaka Forest. Jara Sven only had four hundred men while Frezin now free of having to deal with besieging cities and bridges has the full might of the Marook tribe's fighting force with him. A complete army of four thousand two hundred and sixty seven orcs are under his command. In the early morning hours a skirmish begins between Jara Sven's army and a detachment of fifty Marook raiders. This was a ploy to distract Sven and bring him to not move his troops out of the woods, Frezin's army completely encircles the humans. At around mid-day the orcs swarm the humans and completely butcher them. It could hardly count as a battle, it went down in history as a massacre of the last heroes of Yalen. Frezin the Savage took Jara Sven's head and stuck it on a spear to be presented to Bruzor the Bold. This last engagement marked the end of the Marook War of Conquest in the tribal lands of Yalen. Through his victory over the humans, Bruzor doubled the amount of land he was in control of and increased his wealth ten fold.

The Aftermath
After the defeat of the Yalen Tribe, Frezin the Bold returned to his territory in the Serpentinus Mountains and lead a successful campaign against two other orc tribes. The Trukak and Yatiz Orc Tribes, he soon then reformed all three tribes into one larger tribe and called it the Wurdur Tribe. Now tripling his strength and doubling the territory he held, Frezin the Bold declared an era of orc dominance in the south western part of Swarikia. His rule of this land would last only ten years before a unified army of five human tribes(not to be confused with the five human clans of today) invaded and conquered his lands in the War of the Wolves. This war however would start with a civil war between two rival tribes fighting for control. This however is the second chapter in the great history of the Great Wars of Swarikia.

The first chapter of the Great Wars of Swarikia was over, the second chapter was soon about to begin.

The War of the Wolves; 429-434
Introduction
There are two wars stuck into one that make up The War of the Wolves. In 429 a powerful Jarl ruled over two great families and their tribes. The Hedetja Tribe and the Murjaka Tribe each a sizable tribe with many warriors. In 429 that same powerful Jarl died of old age and declared that the Earl of the Murjaka Tribe become his heir to rule over both the Murjakas and the Hedetjas. This did not sit well with the Earl of the Hedetjas and he soon declared the Hedetjas an independent Earldom free from the grasp of the Murjakas. The new Jarl, Jarl Siegfren Ironhide declared war on the Earldom of the Hedetjas and soon the two sides were fighting like rabid dogs over a chunk of rotten meat. The fighting did not last long though, both tribes saw it as petty fighting between jealous rivals and the people after a year ended the fighting and installed a new Jarl in 430. Jarl Arlo Brudak was a fair man who ruled both tribes with out prejudice or favoritism. In the year 431 he assimilated three other smaller tribes under his rule and declared himself King Arlo Brudak of Porjuklaak(Modern Day Province of Durak, Northwestern Swarikia). His new kingdom bordered the orc realm of the Tribe of Wurdur and in the same year marched a force of twenty thousand men into orc lands thus officially starting the War of the Wolves in 431.

The Battle of Brudook Bridge is down ^U^ you can decide who you want to be Kelra the Proud or Gruor the Impaler.

If you're reading the factbook and you see the small casualty numbers and are like dafuq...I can explain. The Yalen Tribe is a small human tribe that is situated against the Serpentinus Mountain Range and the River Borj, the Marooks are a fairly large Orc Tribe from the mountains, their first target are the smaller human tribes that border their lands. The Yalens are the first on that list. So these defeats for the Yalen people are pretty significant.

The first war of the Great Wars of Swarikia is done in this factbook ^U^

Those are not all the battles of the war but those are the most major ones the beginning one, the two middle determining battles, and the last ditch effort of the humans ^U^. Maybe it will turn out differently in the forums, maybe the orcs will be beaten back into the hills and the people of the Yalen Tribe can live in peace.

The Issue

Illegal street racing and racing-related injuries are on the rise, causing many infamous racers to begin rallying for an officially sanctioned racing series and track facilities in order to safely satisfy their need for speed.
The Debate

"If you don't let us race on real racetracks, then we'll just keep running on the roads at night!" says racing fans' favorite Lauren Dovey, at the wheel of a tricked-out Honda. "Would it kill you guys to build a couple of nice big race facilities? Think of the money you'd make on charging admission and selling drinks and stuff! And it'd be a lot safer than all of us tearing around on public roads! Forget about the people griping about the noise pollution!"

"Don't tell me you plan to cater to these speed freaks!" police officer Bharatendu Summers comments over coffee and donuts. "Encouraging this sport is only going to increase the street racing problem because all these punks who can't afford to run the professional circuit are going to want to satisfy their lead feet the way they have been! What we need is more police funding to crack down on these punk hotrodders."

I kinda want to go for option 2 because it makes me think of Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit.
