The people of Sscenopal have watched the flow of events thus far. We are and have been wholly opposed to Arctacion's reclamation of Greenland and Iceland, and were quite glad to see that they had stepped down and withdrawn their claims. However, this talk of forcing them to give an apology to the region seems a bit too much. Their claims were unjust and they disregarded the changes that had taken place in their absence, but in our eyes, they redeemed themselves when they withdrew their claims on the land when most others, perhaps ourselves included, would have gone much further to defend our own claims. While we refuse to condone their past actions, and their threats of violence on their enemies, we will stand with them regarding the need for them to send a formal apology to the rest of the region. It is unnecessary when they have already offered a deal of peace, and any further forcing will only lead to bloodshed.

Our Government vehemently condemns the outrageous remarks recently made by your government. We had earlier lauded your decision to peaceably abandon your land claims in the disputed Greenland territory, but this recent change of tone, brought on by remarks by Kubrath and Greenlandic arctic, is absolutely unacceptable.

We call on you to withdraw your threats of assassination of the aforementioned states' leaders, as they are affronts to the peace and stability to the entire Arctic Region, and are overt acts of war. Any declaration of war by your nation will be met with immediate sanctions, diplomatic and economic, and militarily, if needs be.

We would advise all parties involved to tone down the rhetoric. Things are escalating far too much in this region.

Yes, it would have been "nice" for Arctacion's government to apologize for what was done earlier, but that was not forthcoming. Their government did, however, abandon their land claims, and we feel that further calls for apologies only exacerbated tensions and rubbed salt in the wounds.

Arctacion, we wish nothing but peaceful relations with you and every other nation in the Arctic. Withdraw your threats immediately, we implore you.

Kubrath, Greenlandic Arctic, the land dispute was more-or-less resolved, we advise leaving Arctacion well enough alone.

We are ready to act as intermediaries in this entire ordeal.

Put down your swords. Tone down the rhetoric and pomposity.

For the good of the Arctic, our Government humbly pleads.

Much respected CAT, though we need time to think about our place in the region . We are agitated. Arctacion withdraws its threats of violence, however on the diplomatic front, we are finished with the said Nations. Their ambassadors and diplomats are at the airport.

Arctacion, we thank you for withdrawing your threats. If you have expelled their diplomats, that is a sad turn of events, but is better than wishing their economic doom or the assassination of their leaderships.

We call for a region-wide cooling off period. For at least two or three days, there should be no further discussion of threats or sanctions against ANY state, nor any bellicosity by any member state.

We are beginning to lose sight of what we hold dear collectively: a peaceful, UNITED, Arctic.

We have been blessed by God to hold within our hands a land that is pure of air, water, and spirit, and have allowed our petty, selfish, national self interests to get in the way of the common good.

Let us see the bigger picture. The land is ours to take care of, our peoples, to love, and assist.

My brothers and sisters: enough.

We are very much appreciative of the support, Sscenopal and CAT. You both exlained the situation brilliantly and have made a very strong case for peace. However, we were never going to be put in a position in which a reasoning was necessary to be publicly announced like a chatty child forced to stand in front of his/classmates and justify. That will never happen. You may be VD, Kubrath (as you may recall again, I created and made you) but it's time to keep that bulging nose out of Arctacion affairs from henceforth. What decisions we make are nobody's business. In fact, Our Premier Madison Dray-Guile declares these borders closed temporarily to all Arctic citizens. Politicians and tourists alike, please make arrangements for your people. We will help where we can in travel and cost. A one month ban on international travel has been put in force on Arcteon citizens also. We are agitated by the treatment we have received and have adopted a temporary isolationist policy until stable regional connections can be established for us. We shall determine when that is. Our Government will remain in check with regional happenings and active, when necessary, on this board.

Let us make something abundantly clear. As we said before, when it comes to regional matters, we do not force any nation to do anything whatsoever regarding anything at all. We can only implore a nation with a strongly worded message, as we usually do. However, when it comes to relations with our nation, as this situation was, we will give an ultimatum without any reservation. The reason why we demanded a formal apology was in response to Arctacion demanding that we don't question their dignity and respect their decision. Now our country might be pacifistic, but we do not bend over. You cannot just waltz in here, all self-entitled, and then expect everything to be just fine. Arctacion, other nations might see the withdrawal of your requests as good enough, but your opportunistic maneuvers won't go by without consequences. You brought this upon yourself, and no amount of whining will ameliorate that.

As for our position, so what? We don't remember you being king, we only remember you being an almost non-existent delegate (at one point even truly non-existent). Whether or not you appointed us is irrelevant. What's more important is who did their job better. We, for instance, helped Ice Bears write the new TG, helped move and edit the the new wiki page and helped recruitment when the region was going under 30, with some other minor things in-between. As far as we're concerned, we're doing our job. What have you done recently other than, you know, whine and play victim? I proposed to you to uphold your dignity and apologize like most of us would have in your situation, but you instead chose to indeed act like a child and keep refusing just because you don't want to. And now you're closing off your nation to all of Arctic? You're not fooling anyone. Go play victim some more, we'll wait until you're done.

Arctacion, Kubrath, let us please relax. What's done is done, and whether or not you two loudly feud about it or not, the past is behind us now. I remember a time when we were all friends, cheerfully and respectfully acknowledging each others points. Let's go back there. Let's go back to before this whole mess happened, let everything go. The issue is resolved. Come, friends, let us all sit together at a table of peace, a table of diplomacy, a table of happiness, and let us all welcome each other as brothers and sisters in our beautiful region.

Funny, I said almost the exact same thing.

Great minds, my friend.

There is no such thing as "going back". Time moves in only one direction - forward - and everyone follows. We'll gladly cease further comments in the RMB if this makes other nations uncomfortable. However, we will not take part in pretending like there wasn't an elephant running loose in the room. As I said before, relations cannot be reinstated, only reforged.

Greenlandic arctic

PS: I know it's much easier to be happy, peaceful and all that but sometimes honesty is more important. Neither a region, nor a nation can progress if they don't face their issues head on. Pretending like they don't exist only leads to a dead end.

Kubrath, our Government appreciates your candor and honesty, but while those are laudable values, knowing when to let go is important as well.

Yes, that "elephant" caused a lot of disruption and upset feelings, and it was dealt with as best as will be able, but still poking that elephant with a verbal stick isn't going to solve anything or improve things, because the matter will never be resolved to your satisfaction it seems.

This is not an excuse for the actions of the nation in question, it's a matter of diplomatic reality. What's done is done, and as you aptly noted, we must look forward and not dwell indefinitely - not that you plan to - on the issues of the past.

Welcome to the Arctic, Wrexwic. Please excuse our current struggles.

It's okay. It happens. Regions need to fight it out. Well, a little about this nation, its technically a puppet but its really my main story arc. I'm kind of looking for a new experience, a new nation. I think that by having it in a different region, I may get a few new RP partners out of it too. 'The Arctic' reflects the climate here. Yet it would be more like a sub arctic tundra..

But yeah, I look forward to getting involved with this region as well.

Question not related to any of the recent arguing; what is this region's relation to the history of the rest of the world? Has that ever been brought up or is there any set 'cannon' of how our region came to be, other than the brief explanation given on the wiki, or are we just left to our own head-cannon regarding how other nations don't play a role in our politics? I ask because I'm writing the series of how my nation came to be in my accounts section, and since they originated from Russia, it would be nice to know exactly what happened to Russia.

I don't believe that there is an agreed upon regional canon (correct me if I am wrong), but it would be pretty neat if we could all create a single timeline.

The ministry position of “Minister of Regional Affairs” has recently become vacant as a response to a request made by Novaya Zemlya some time ago. If any member-nation would like to apply for the position, please telegram me.

We've said what we wanted to say, so there's nothing more for us to dwell upon. We only hold on for as long as necessary, and this was necessary, as no elephant will ever stop rampaging unless you do something about it.

Creating a history of the Arctic would be quite the hefty task. There's only one way to efficiently pull it off: teamwork, and that's a mythical animal across these lands.

Kubrath. We are beginning to be infuriated by your remarks. You are a dead redundunt nation to Arctacion.

Stop provoking.

I believe the “situation” is over and we should all move on.

As for the Arctic history: any ideas? How far back do we want to go?

Much appreciated, Aexalla.
We would like to see Canadian arctic territories as Minister of Regional Affairs, should they be interested in the position. CAT has displayed a strong commitment to peaceful diplomacy and played an active, constructive role throughout the Greenland Crisis and its aftermath.
