Wiking Nordland

The Jarlreich of Wiking Nordland, commonly called Wiking Nordland, is a Tyranny by Majority in Blitzkrieg. It is bordered by X, on the North by Baltic Sea and on the East by Kattegat Sea. Wiking Nordland covers over 2.157.158 Km² and has an estimated population of over 38.56 million.

Wiking Nordland was first inhabited by víkingr from Scandinavia during their expansion. It was first conquered by Danes, then became a part of Hålogaland petty kingdom. The Unification of Norway in 872 resulted in independence of Wiking Nordland into petty jarldoms. These Jarldoms embarked into a period of troubles to survive, fast drakkars ships providing few silver & gold and much needed materials with trades. Nordlanders survived the Scandinavian religious war in 995 where they've been involved on the side of the holy Norses.
Centuries passed by, Wiking Nordland emerged as an independent and unified country during the Middle Ages and developped a strong army, the glory of its people, proud Aryans Warriors. They went out of their Fjords to colonize inner lands, raid ennemies, and improve their economy.
Wiking Nordland is a very highly developed country, with a high national GDP of $757 trillion and per capita GDP of $138,352.54. The economy is fueled by specialized sectors and high productivity, as well as a state based economy that allows no abuses of the free market. Wiking Nordland ranks lowly in civil rights, highly in political freedom, and lowly in economic freedom.

Etymology

Wiking Nordland comes from the Old Norse words Vikingr "vikings", Norðri "north", and land.

The standard way to refer to a citizen of Wiking Nordland is as a "Wikinger."

History

There is no evidence of the first known inhabitants of Wiking Nordland, but we suppose that this continent wasn't inhabited at all. During The Viking Age, the coast was settled in Fjörds by various vikings raiders such as Danes, Norwegians,Finns and Swedishs.
the first Viking raiders arrived in 802. The first of these was Jorundr Einar, sent on a suicide trip to officially punish him and unofficially locate new fertile lands or wealth. The infamous Hakòn Skogr became the first Jarl of the Fjörds arround Nordskalr, comprising the North coast of present-day Wiking Nordland. Hakòn founded Einarskogr, the present largest city of Wiking Nordland, while burying the axe of the dead Jorundr as first stone. The Fjörds nearly vanished during the Unification of Norway, but survived eventually by the leadership of a few jarls.
The Unification of Norway led to independence for these petty jarldoms. The northern Fjörds of present-day Wiking Nordland struggled to grow economically closer to the Scandinavian Fjörds. Wikingers merchants met with Nordics in trading hubs of Baltic Sea in order to survive, when the jarls were not warring each other. Meanwhile, Wikingers explorers, discovering inner lands and chains of Mountains, led to find new arables lands and by that, rose the borders of present Wiking Nordland.
The glorious victories during the successful Holy Norse Scandinavian war inspired prominents Jarls of Wiking Nordland to threaten other countries with raids and slaughters.
The result of Holy Norse War was the extermination of Catholics in Scandinavia, who failed to pass by Finland in order to avoid the disintegration of Christian Holy Crusaders. Vikingr continued to chase them, however, the duchy of Novgorod provided a rest for the last survivors. The Pope, in no condition to fight another war, recognized Norse Religion in the nordic lands. Uppsala became the Holy Norse city, with the Yggdrasil tree at the top of the city fortress.
Meanwhile, as Wikingers Raiders came back full of prestige, experience and wealth, it led Wiking Nordland to grow economically faster and provide them a quality and offensive army, with the doctrines learned from the war. hundreds of Nordics settlers came to Wiking Nordland jarldoms and founded numerous Fjörds and cities, such as Sigrholm, Boersgard, Stromlund... Over the next century, more than 88,000 settlers came to this region, from all the nordics countries, which led to the varied languages you can hear nowadays in Wiking Nordland.
The unification of Wiking Norland emerged in the early 12th century, after a bloody 18 year war, won by the Jarl Throstr from Nordskalr.
Wiking Nordland remained agressive through the remainder of the Middle Ages with its neighbours, although it became harder to find enough gold and spoils, it remained a very good place to form new Aryan recruits.
Wiking Nordland was officially involved in World War I, during the Tyrannic reign of the infamous Jarl Floki, and sent an Expeditionary Korps of 6 divisions, the Leibsmann Njörd, the Nordmann Reich, the Tötenjorundr, Wikingersjügend, the Wiking and Nordland Elite divisions, the pride of the nation. These divisions wear the Edelweiss nowadays in order to remember their participation in the successful battle of Tannenberg, which costed dearly in men's lives. After the end of World War I, in 1919, the nation was divided by civil war, with the loyalists-leaning "Reds", fighting the traditional-leaning "Whites". The war ended on 27 May, when the Whites took over Sigrholm from the loyalist troops. White Wiking Nordland celebrated the victory with a large military parade in Nordskalr on 28 May 1919.
A new form of electoral system was made- a list of preselected young leaders showing merit and achievement would be placed on the ballots for the people to elect. The winner would be elected and would remain in power for the rest of his life, and would repeat the process in his old age once again for the next generation to select....
The first elected Jarl has been Skrymir, an economic genius, but also a pacifist.
The Civil War was a catastrophe for Wiking Nordland. As is often the case during (civil) war, most of the deaths occurred outside the battlefields, in the terror campaigns and from the appalling conditions in the prison camps.The majority of the prisoners were paroled or pardoned by the end of 1918, after the change in the political situation.
The economic condition of the country had deteriorated so drastically that recovery to pre-conflict levels was not achieved until 1926. As a consequence, the financial crash didn't hit Wiking Nordland as hard as it could have in other nations. In 1932, the health of Skrymir began to decline, and new election has been held in 1933. It resulted in a large majority of the votes for a military commander, Untersturmführer Yngvarr Ragnvaldr, 19 years old, who showed great potential in both military and economic sectors. His main habit is that he is unpredictable, he can be calm and cold for the whole day, and explode of anger for something unimportant. He can be either very disciplined or quite reckless. As a result, he has been titled "The Berserk Jarl". His main preoccupation has been to drastically rebuild the economy of the country by specialising it into mining some different ores such as iron, seafood, machinery, Wood products and paper goods, Ship building and massive investment into automobile industry. Secondly, seeing the bad state of the armed forces, he decided a modernization and re-armament of the military. It began in 1935 with the "Four year plan". Lastly, investments into various public infrastructures (roads, rails), education and health infrastructures, such as hospitals has been made. These decisions removed almost completely the unemployement within the nation and Yngvarr became highly popular for this. But these investments had a cost... the debts of the nation rised quite dramatically over the years, and by 1939, solutions will have to be found in order to fix it.

Geography

Wiking Nordland lies South of the Baltic Sea and west of Kattegat, providing a long coastline, and forms the Northern part of the Island. To the south is the Nordland mountain chain (Valkajokull). It has maritime borders with Remnants of Exilvania.
Eastern Wiking Nordland is predominantly Industrial, with increasing forest area. Around 72% of Wiking Nordland's total land area is covered by forests. The highest population density is in the Einarskogr Region in Northern Wiking Nordland. Vänern and Vättern are its largest lakes. These lakes take up a significant part of the beauty from Wiking Nordland's landscape. It's well known that these Lakes hide oil, but the government forbid any exploitation. Wiking Nordland's extensive waterway availability was exploited with the building of the Yggdrasul Canal in the 19th century, shortening the potential distance between the Baltic Sea and Kattegat by using the lakes and rivers networks to facilitate the canal.

Most of Wiking Nordland has a temperate climate, despite its northern latitude, with four distinct seasons and mild temperatures throughout the year.
Temperatures vary greatly from north to south. Southern part of the country have warm summers and cold winters, with average high temperatures of 20 to 25 °C (68 to 77 °F) in the summer, and average temperatures of −4 to 2 °C (25 to 36 °F) in the winter, while the northern and eastern parts of the country have shorter, cooler summers and longer, colder and snowier winters, with temperatures that often drop below freezing from end of October to May. The highest temperature ever recorded in Wiking Nordland was 38 °C (100 °F) in Sigrholm in 1947, while the coldest temperature ever recorded was −52.6 °C (−62.7 °F) in Whithagr in 1966.

On average, most of Wiking Nordland receives between 1,000 and 1,200 mm of precipitation each year. The south-western part of the country receives between 500 and 800 mm of precipitation each year, making it considerably drier than the global average. The weather stations are sorted from south towards north by their numbers.

Stunning and dramatic scenery and landscape are found throughout Wiking Nordland. The north and eastern coast of Wiking Nordland present some of the most visually impressive coastal sceneries in the world.

Demographics

Population
Wiking Nordland has an estimated population of 38.56 million.The population density is 17.88 people per km² and it is higher in the West-North-East than in the south, and also increasing the more you're near of the coasts. The largest ancestry groups included Danes, Norwegians, and Swedish. Wiking Nordland is an exclusive Aryan country. 98.6% of the population are Nordics Aryans whites, 1.4% are other races that remain captives, mostly in harsh cold little towns in the southern to do the hardest duties.

Norwegian is the de facto national language. Approximately 57% of the population speak Norwegian as a first language, with another 16% speaking Swedish as a first language. The third most dominant language is Finnish with aproximatively 14% as a first language, Danish is last with 11% as a minority language. The rest is insignificant, but you have chance to hear German, Estonian, Icelandic, and even Latvian in streets.

The majority of Wiking Nordland's population identifies as Norse. 8% identify as Protestant. Norse Paganism is deeply rooted into Wiking Nordland's culture, and influenced it in a significant part. Nordlanders worship Æsir gods, and the traditional violence to please the gods on the battlefield in order to access to Valhalla is shown on the nation's motto : Victory or Valhalla.

Language
The official language of Wiking Nordland is Norwegian, a North Germanic language, related and very similar to Danish and Swedish, but differing in pronunciation and orthography. Swedish have little difficulty understanding Norwegians, and Danes can also understand it, with slightly more difficulty than the Swedish. The same goes for standard Norwegian speakers, who find it far easier to understand Swedish than Danish. Danishs Wikingers are Wiking Nordland's largest linguistic minority, comprising about 11% of Wiking Nordland's population, and Danish is recognised as a minority language.

Along with Danish, four other minority languages are also recognised: Icelandic, Estonian, German and Latvian.

In varying degrees, depending largely on frequency of interaction with Scandinavians, a majority of Wikingers, especially those born after World War I, understand and speak the various Scandinavian language owing to trade links, the popularity of overseas travel, and a strong Scandinavian-Nordland military influence Post-War.

Religion

Wikings adhere to Norse paganism, worshiping Æsir gods, with its centre at the Temple in Uppsala (Sweden).
When Scandinavia won the holy war against Christians, the Christian religion and practices were prohibited.
Except protestants minority, any other religion is forbidden.

Yngvar Ragnvaldr rules Wiking Nordland autocratically by asserting the Jarlprinzip (leader principle), which call for absolute obedience of all subordinates. He sees the government structure as a pyramid, with himself at the top. Ranks in the party are not determined by elections; positions are filled through appointment by merit or military achievements.

Top officials report to Yngvar Ragnvaldr and follow his policies, but they have considerable autonomy. Officials are expect to "work towards the Jarl" – to take the initiative in promoting policies and actions in line with his wishes and the goals of the Government, without Ragnvaldr having to be involved in the day-to-day running of the country.

Foreign Relations and Military

Throughout the 20th century, Wikingers foreign policy was based on the principle of agressivity in wartime during summer and neutrality during the harsh winters.

The armed forces of Wiking Nordland are called the Víkingr Nordland herr. This included the Víkingr Herr (army) and The Nordska Einherjar, composed of the 6 famous elite divisions, 2nd branch of the Víkingr herr, the Kriegsmarine (navy), the Luftwaffe (air force) and the Lantvärnet (Home Guard). Members of the armed forces are required to pledge an oath of unconditional obedience to the Jarl.This oath require members of the military to obey Ragnvaldr even if they are being ordered to do something illegal.

Economy

A high standard of living is experienced by its citizens. Wiking Nordland is an Consumption-oriented mixed economy. Timber, Fishing and Agriculture constitute the resource base of an economy with a heavy emphasis on foreign trade. With expansive forests, Wiking Nordland has a tradition to produce Wood Products, Furnitures and Paper goods. Many of today's most interesting new buildings are made of wood and stones, reflecting the strong appeal that this material continues to hold for Wikingers designers and builders. Wiking Nordland's fishing sector accounts for most of output and exports, while Automobile industry, furniture production, ship building, machinery ,mining (iron, nickel, aluminium, coal...) are also of great importance.
The Income Tax Rate is eventually of 31.8%, even though, the government are doing efforts in order to lower it.
The largest trade flows are with Germany, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Remnants of Exilvania, Muchania, and Volksgard .
Culture

Wiking Nordland is home to a variety of Nordic cultures, a result of his colonized and settlers past. Wiking Nordland culture is considered Western, derived from traditions of European and Nordics culture.

Wikingers have been described as Hard-nosed, humorless and hardworking, even more so than their German counterparts. This has resulted in great wars achievements, and a Authoritarian form of government. This has also made Wiking Nordland an infamous destination for non aryans immigrants. The goal has ever been to build a classless society based on racial purity and the perceived need to prepare for warfare, conquest, and a struggle against Marxism.

All schoolars have to learn one specific poem to students, a poem which have been written by Jorundr in the last moments of his life. This poem is considered as one of the prides of the nation.

Food

Wikinger cuisine, like that of the other Scandinavian countries (Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland), was traditionally simple. Fish (particularly herring), meat, potatoes and dairy products played prominent roles. Spices were sparse. Famous preparations include Wikinger meatballs, traditionally served with gravy, boiled potatoes and lingonberry jam; pancakes; lutfisk; and the smörgåsbord, or lavish buffet. Akvavit is a popular alcoholic distilled beverage, and the drinking of snaps is of cultural importance. The traditional flat and dry crisp bread has developed into several contemporary variants. Regionally important foods are the surströmming (trout fish) in northern Wiking Nordland.

Sport activities are a national movement with half of the population actively participating in organised sporting activities. The two main spectator sports are Soccer and ice hockey.

Infrastructure

Due to the low population density, narrow shape and long coastlines of Wiking Nordland, its public transport is less developed than in many other countries, especially outside the major cities. The country has longstanding water transport traditions, but the Wikinger Ministry of Transport has in recent years implemented rail, Autobahn and air transport through numerous subsidiaries to develop the country's infrastructure.
Investment in new infrastructure and maintenance is financed through the state budget.

Energy

Wiking Nordland's energy market is largely nationalised.
The state has large ownership position in key industrial sector, such as hydroelectric energy production. Electricity generation in Wiking Nordland is almost entirely from hydroelectric power plants and Coal-fired power plants.
The country has for many years pursued a strategy of indirect taxation as an instrument of environmental policy, including energy taxes in general and carbon dioxide taxes in particular.
