The Confederation of American Liberty States commonly called the American Confederation, is a constitutional representative confederation primarily in North America with 3 associated Commonwealth protectorates around the globe. The contiguous 47 member states are bordered on the north by Canada and on the south by Mexico. The American Confederation comprises of 47 States, 14 permanently inhabited territories, 11 uninhabited territories, and 3 Commonwealth protectorates. The standard way to refer to a citizen of the American Confederation is as an "American."

The American Confederation is currently considered to be the largest economy in the world. Its currency, silver, which is typically measured in the unit of an ounce, is the considered the world's reserve currency. Its main economic rivals include the European Union, Russia, and China.

History

Established at the end of the 2nd American Revolution (1911-1914) (caused by progress of the 16th and 17th Amendments) by the victorious Anti-Federalist Sons of Liberty after bloodshed from Washington DC to the Western Frontier, the American Confederation is a restoration of The United States of America that functioned via the Articles of Confederation. Thus, its constitution is similar to the AoC.

Structure

Each of the states have significant sovereignty, and no ruling national head of state such a President or Prime Minister. Any binding national law or policy (including budgets or war declaration) requires the approval of at least 80% of the states and must not violate the constitution. Each state may elect 4 State Representatives to represent the people nationally. The nation functions as a constitutional representative confederation to have measures mitigating tyranny of the majority and national government. The capital city changes every year to another city in another state not visited within a decade. The purpose of a nomadic national government is to mitigate the overgrowth of bureaucracy.

The Declaration of Independence and National Constitution were ratified on October 5th 1912 at Virginia Beach. Fully established (and succeeding the former USA by accepting its formal surrender) on June 24th, 1914, The Confederation of American Liberty States (colloquially known as the American Confederation) comprises of 47 mostly autonomous states.

The American Confederation did not participate in WWI due its non-interventionist principles and rebuilding after The 2nd Revolution. It was dragged into WWII though due to the Japanese Invasion of the Philippines in 1942 and was instrumental in the Allied victory. The nation hasn't been in war since or has ever instituted a draft, but has maintained a strong military entirely capable of defending itself against any nation.

Territory

The confederacy's territory comprises of all the former United States of America and its territories (such as the Philippines, Guam, Panama Canal Zone, Puerto Rico, etc.). It also has obtained the territories of Bermuda (1919) and Greenland (1947) via purchase due to their previous owners being in debt after war. As a result, the American Confederacy has the 2nd Largest Territory By Land, and 1st Largest Territory Including EEZ. Its climate ranges from the warm tropics of the Philippines and Florida to the frigid arctic of Alaska and Greenland.

Philippines became a self-governing Commonwealth Protectorate in 1934, as later did Puerto Rico in 1993. In 1956, South Africa's Cape Province seceded in response to the progress of Apartheid, asking to join the American Confederation after a referendum as a Commonwealth protectorate.

Demographics

Population
The 2020 AC Census describes the nation and associated commonwealths to have a combined population of 293,720,000 people. Birthrates across the Nation and Commonwealths average 2.39 births per woman. The are 0.937 males for every female American. The average American age is 32. Language
Despite having no official language, English is used throughout the nation, though to lesser degrees in the three Commonwealths and Territory of Greenland. English remains as by far the dominant language within continental America.

In the Commonwealth of the Philippines, both Filipino (and its different dialects) and English are commonly used, caused by the increasing population of white Continental Americans there. Most residents of the commonwealth are bilingual, with English used as the lingua franca.

Religion

The most common religion in the Confederation is Christianity, practiced by 87% of the overall population according to the 2020 AC census. In the continental states and territories, most are protestant. The Philippines are the exception with the majority being Catholic. 8% are anything from agnostic to atheist. The other 5% include Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Mormonism, and others.

Culture

Culture across the American Confederation is extremely diverse. This is due to its large territorial expanse, being one of three nations (the other two being the UK and France) where the sun never sets in its borders. One widespread cultural aspect though, is that its citizens generally greatly value the family unit. As result, it's often considered more socially conservative to the often compared to European Union. Families tend to be started earlier than other countries, with the average American parent having their first child at 22 for women and 26 for men. Despite this, it is often considered to be radically liberal in the sense of prostitution and drugs. Same is the case with rather revealing attire among young women, typically among the warmer areas of the confederation. Though, participation among the population with prostitution and recreational drugs are below the world average.

An aspect of culture the American Confederation is famous for, is its affinity for weaponry. The American population's private ownership of weapons account for double of the rest of the world's military stockpile combined. This is the American Confederation's primary deterrent against foreign invasion. Men between the ages of 16 and 60 often volunteer to join private, local, state, or commonwealth militias to maintain readiness. As a result, conscription has never been needed.

Of course the largest aspect of culture is the Confederation's strict adherence to the principles of life, liberty and property. American citizens are extremely skeptical and wary of government, valuing individual responsibility and voluntary association. As a result, elections determine little in daily life. In some places, voting is even restricted to males above the age of 25 whom own significant property, in order to have collateral. In the American Confederation, voting is not considered a right, but instead a tool to be very carefully used, with the tyranny of a majority always in the back of a voter's mind.

Elections & Suffrage

In the American Confederation, elections are regarded as a rather unexciting affair. This is because the nation's constitution is so strict on what government is allowed to do, that laws are rarely passed, especially past the 80% supermajority threshold. Thus, voting is more akin to a process of accounting, usually only consisting of electing judges for the various levels of courts, and Representatives to act mostly concerning frugal budgets and foreign trade relations. It is one of last few countries without universal suffrage. This is because voting is not considered a right, but instead a tool to be carefully used. Typically most jurisdictions with the nation require an individual to be earning and holding a certain amount of income/property, be at least 25, and are male. This is because women are exempt from being in a draft and from any non-tariff taxes once they have children. Though the nation has never instituted a draft nor is very unlikely ever to.

Government & Military

The Confederation's military is mustered up by each state, but joined together for the need of national defense. The American military therefore is only ever used for defense and is non-interventionist; with its size reflecting this purpose. Hundred of thousands of Americans also volunteer to serve in militias to supervise their government(s) in addition to the purpose of national defense. Though the national border is managed by each state, their rules of entry are generally similar and rather open without mandatory checkpoints. State borders within the nation though, are entirely open and unrestricted.

Foreign Relations

The American Confederation attempts to establish free trade as with many nations as possible. Its lack of most tariffs makes it perhaps the most popular trading partner in the world. It is also a very popular tax haven for many corporations. In terms of foreign policy, the American Confederation is non-interventionist, leading it to be on friendly terms with most nations. Rivals Russia and China, are still relative apprehensive to participate in relations however.

Laws

The American Confederation principally value the individual's natural negative rights of life, liberty, and property in its national constitution. Thus, the numerous states generally have policies that are libertarian, pro-life, and Austrian-School capitalist. Therefore, there are very few laws here. The few laws that do exist, restrict age of consent and abortion; and prohibit theft, murder, and fraud. Abortion is restricted to only if it is necessary to save the mother’s life; otherwise it is treated as murder. It is reasoned that an individual cannot exercise liberty without life.

In the American Confederation, an individual may without the need of governmental permission, participate in things such as: publicly carrying machine guns, snorting cocaine, prostitution, trade freely without tariffs or most taxes, ride an unregistered motorcycle with a helmet, etc.. For example, no American is subjected to the extortion of income and property tax. The currency is entirely backed by gold and silver. Unlike most nations, the American Confederation has no central bank.

Geography

Due to the absence of public settlement and road programs, and consequentially unprofitable routes, the Western states and territories are extremely remote and mostly undeveloped. Much of the western territories' landscape remains untouched by civilization. In places like the territories of New Mexico and Arizona, you can be as far as 128 miles (206km) from a paved highway and 36 miles (58km) from any dirt road. In the territory of Alaska you can be hundreds of miles from any trail. Land is extremely cheap in the Western states and territories, but also extremely remote and isolated. As a result, the American Confederacy has the largest and most intact areas of temperate wilderness in the world. Airlines and highspeed trains are the main mode of interstate travel.

Despite the American Confederation's seemingly high population of 293 million people (4th in the world), most of this population is found in the many megacities located on the coasts and eastern states. Due to the inaccessibility of the Western states and territories, population and business continue to consolidate in the mega metropolitan areas.

It seems almost no one else does either, considering you'd probably just get lost and die in that endless wilderness. Even if I did want to go there, no major airline even offers flights to there." How haven't we cleared the Western Frontier like the Russians did Siberia?"

I've also seen some nice photographs of palm trees and pretty, topless girls all over them pools and beaches too; that gene editing works!
