The Jingoistic States of Jocol is a large, socially progressive nation, renowned for its barren, inhospitable landscape, compulsory military service, and complete absence of social welfare. The hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical, devout population of 81 million Jocolese are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to and dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night.
The tiny government is primarily concerned with Defense, although Law & Order and Spirituality are also considered important, while International Aid and Welfare aren't funded at all. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 8.0%.
