When Nulea Astro is criticized in the media, an aspect of our great country that is often viewed unfairly is our Conscription Policy. The news articles abroad are shocking "Kids as young as 18 forced every year into military service!" It's a fact twisted by those wishing to inflate and alarm. It puts our country in an awkward light and makes the world question whether we truly care for our youth.

I would like to offer understanding for the misunderstanding. Our country doesn't have a typical military, in fact the year of service young adults complete are far less like a war zone, and more like a summer camp. Kind leaders of the world, let me make a case for you as to why this service we provide for our young people is compassionate, and progressive.

When young adults complete high school, they are sent to one year working and living in a military boarding school. This is viewed as a year of service for young adults.

While there, whether they be rich or poor, they live in a state of monetary equality. They are taught routine and structure and taught compassion and compatriotship for their fellow citizens. In the schools, there are programs to teach everything from nature survivalist skills, to shooting fire arms, to math and history, to expressing themselves with art and music. The schooling is entirely free and the students can stay for up to 3 years, but must complete one to receive their highschool diploma. During this time they can apply to colleges, or get stationed in military bases abroad to subsequently study abroad. While they're in military school, they are exposed to job fairs and college fairs where they can settle a path for secondary education or entering the work force. They are also provided with volunteer outlets that serve the community, as well as paths that can lead to medical or law school.

Of course, this is funded by the military. The students there are scouted by military recruiters, and it is at these schools where we find our high ranking military officials. Young adults who show desirable skills such as the ability to write or translate codes, the ability to work well with computers, the ability to understand high level concepts such as nuclear physics, and the like are offered clear paths to success, education and service.

This program is open to all people, men and women, those with and without disabilities. There are no hard line restrictions on who can join these schools.

There are exceptions, people can opt out of the schools for personal, medical or moral reasons. In that case, they can get their full degree through other methods of service including volunteer outreach, work as an essential worker, an educator, or a medical worker. There are no differences between these degrees.

I would like to remind you, esteemed leaders, that it is against the law in our country to send an adult younger than 20 into an active battle ground. So, if those abroad could proceed in diplomatic relations with Nulea Astro with this system in mind, knowing that the conscription is less to bolster our military, and more to offer our youth a clear path in life, I believe our countries could all get along quite fine.

Warm regards, Allister T Rockefeller Quimbley, Director of the Nulea Astro Armed Forces Relations Agency (NAAFRA)

Cool. My nation has a conscription policy as well, but people can opt to instead do public works for the same time as they would serve in the army. Still, I have little to no standing army and prefer to rely on my powerful allies.

1,5 billion? That's less than how much I spend on a single school construction.
