All of the infantry use night vision and thermal scanners to see in the dark and through possible smokes. The Sminishians bitten or attacked by Shikiri, most only had their Ratnik-3 style armor bitten without the teeth passing, they attempt to fight back with knife and martial art melee, some who DID get affected are seriously damaged and possibly devoured. The wildfire of machine guns from THEL system tanks begin at the Shikiri. "DIE YOU MONSTROUS MINI DRACULAS! THAT IS WHAT YOU GET!" Yelled a Machine gunner as he fires multiple bullets from the ANti-Infantry machine gun.

The Mobile Artillery outside the village is requested to change coordinates for launching yet another barrage of missiles, they don't know where the new enemy artillery units are, the man who requested doesn't know either, so professional trained soldiers are ordered to search everywhere in the torn village to locate new artillery units, they are told to be careful and to remember their training, the Shikiri are very dangerous, they are not an easy target. Some wondered if they are just newly arrive artillery units.

"Take cover!" The cry is followed instantly by a maelstrom of fire, the trees reduced to shrapnel, and the dizzying roar of impacting artillery.
Trotsky Hoffsteil cringes slightly, before going back to looking down her sights at the enemy. They had set up positions after the artillery barrage, and were sending blindfire into the treeline. To a normal person, they would be nearly invisible, even with night vision, however, to her eyes, they were more clear then it would be in daylight. She spots a man on a machine gun, he is firing off rounds with a furious pace. It takes only a second, before she squeezes the trigger.
Pop pop pop, three rounds, and the man slumps behind his cover. A fresh barrage of fire takes the leaves off of the bushes besides her, and she sees one of her comrades shift as a bullet enters him. A squadron of Sminishian MBTs are approaching, cannon firing off blinding flashes as they approach.
Her radio crackles, an order incoming. "Five squadrons of interceptors and ten gunships heading to the current position. We need the tanks painted."
Fumbling into a radio mouthpiece, Trotsky whispers; "Roger, will laser the incoming hostiles."
She rummages through her backpack, producing a long boxy instrument. She turns it on, and gazes through the sights at the enemy MBTs. For long seconds that seem to bleed into years, nothing happens. The tanks move over the ground, levelling their cannon for another salvo. Instantly, it seems they have disappeared, a blinding flash taking their place. As the explosions bloom into dust and fire, their sound, a wall of deafening noise, hits the Shikiri lines.
Trotsky smiles. She sets down the implement, reloads her rifle, and prepares to down another of her prey. She is a creature of the night after all, and these opponents are her prey.
In the air, jet black interceptors race through the skies, releasing swarms of air to air missiles. Shikiri below fight with increases ferocity, as the thrum of helicopter blades becomes a low undertone of the battle. Secondary air to ground missiles race in at multiple times the speed of sound, bringing devastating fire support.
