NationStates World Arts Fair
Winter 2018 - January 26-29
It's that time of year again! Bring on your creativity and enthusiasm because the World Arts Fair is back in town. Last fall, we had a great turn out, with nations from all over NS joining in to share artwork and writing, even some musical compositions. We had lots of spectators who joined in to support our artists and it was a success. Here's to hoping that this year is even greater and richer than last year.
There are many ways for you to get involved...
Be a Volunteer
Volunteers of all kinds are needed to pull off this kind of event, so please share your talents with us! The assignments range from forum administration to dispatch writer. Whatever your skill, offer it up if you've got the time to spare. Sign up here.
Have Your Region Host the Fair
Hosting the fair has its benefits and perks. As host, nations essentially curate their very own version of the fair, under the supervision of the RIA cultural branch. This kind of event gathers many members from all over the NS world and can spread the word about what fantastic things your region is doing. We want your take on what the World Arts Fair should be, so don't forget to sign up to host! - The South Pacific will be hosting this winter's fair.
Submit Your Work
Unmistakably, the fair wouldn't operate precisely if we didn't have artists to submit their artwork, songs, and words. So we need your help to celebrate culture in this festival. Send in your photographs, musical compositions, poems, short stories, pottery works and anything else you can think to share with the NS community. We are here to celebrate all the diversity and creativity around us, so please share your work even if you don't want to be judged!
Each category (visual arts, performance, writing) will be judged separately, with its own panel of three judges. You may choose what you share with the community for panel review or simply to get your work out there to others.
Be a Judge
Have you always wanted to be the Simon Cowell of the group, or are you more of the Paula Abdul type judge? All are welcome to submit a request to be considered for arbitration roles. You will converse and confer with other judges to decide the winners of each category. However, please note, not all requests will be granted - don't take anything personally. :)
Performance - January 26, 2018
Show us what you've got! Sing us your songs, share your screenplays, bring a composition or arrangement to life. Submit all your performance based entries and join the WAF Discord Server to participate in a karaoke contest!
Visual Arts - January 27, 2018
All visual arts are shared here: photographs, paintings, drawings, pictures of sculptures, and anything else that you might have. On this day, we'll be playing Draw This to celebrate the skill and talent all of you artistically inclined people have.
Writing - January 28, 2018
Many of you have the gift of writing and creating worlds with your words - we'd love for you to share some of your work! Whether it's prose, poetry, non-fiction, it doesn't matter. All forms of writing are celebrated here, and this year, we added a fan-fiction category. The daily event is to be determined.
January 29, 2018
The judges will convene and decide which winners will reign until the next fair. Join us on this day to celebrate and cherish all the wonderful work each of our artists have done. Celebratory games of Cards Against Humanity, and the NationStates version, will break out throughout the day.

The venue opens, hundreds of people start flooding in the Arena, taking their seats. Most of the people coming to watch the summit come from FUN member states. Before the show starts, background checks everywhere. Security is tight around the area, causing traffic at the entrances. The roads and highways were near the venue were filled with checkpoints. Hours after the Background checks, Four White Limousines escorted with an armored SUV group make their way to the entrances. They're the 5 FUN Council Heads, with 5 Political High-Rankers with them. The SUV's park first. Men with Tan Trench coats come out of them and start securing the area before the 10 Guests go out. After 10 Minutes, the Drivers were given the Green light to allow the 10 guests out. The 5 Council Heads were wearing dark red trench coats, with a yellow FUN Coat of Arms on the left shoulder as a badge. The 5 Political High rankers came out with white coats, with the same FUN Coat of arms, but on the right. They make their way into the gate, no background checks. They take their seat, and wait for the others to arrive.
We handle all launches of our own rockets, so please do contact us to set up a launch contract. Since this will be a manned launch, it will have to be flown from our man-rated pads in Usniya, until such time as launch towers can be finished in our Spiassau Launch Center.
*The CNSA begins to draw up a blueprint for a rocket to get the first Conglagateian into space.*
While the others focus on space exploration due to the Conference in Usniya, A new commission was created in the FUN. The FUNOUX (Federatative United Nations On Underground Exploration) is a commission dedicated to research and find ways to dig deeper than anyone has even dug in the world. One of the FUNOUX's Major goals is to find new materials like Jewels and other Rare-Earth Metals.
*After several scraps,a blueprint is decided on. A prototype will be created soon.*
Hyacinth Rutledge gathers a panel of trusted councillors. They decide that Sonderson Carell will be attending the summit as a representative of Dixadoing and his travel plans have begun.

Say what you will about the program, but the pace at which everything is developing is remarkable. As someone who is hoping to work in the aerospace industry in the future, it really is encouraging to see things going well.
Yeah, it'll be nice to break out of the 20-30 ton range for the first time since Energia got killed
Not really.
Before the Summit
The PIJaN Summit, only waiting for the new guest, have recently been a museum for FUN History, from Establishment to Recent. This way, the visitors won't become bored before the event starts.
Today, Zero Command (the Imperial garrison consistently fighting in the LMI dark forest) announces the Secure, Contain, Protect initiative. It is the goal of this organization to, as implied in the name, protect the world from supernatural elements still at large in the wake of the LMI collapse.
The SCP is reaching out to both UN's, and hopes to become an International organization for the containment of the Supernatural, and the irradiation of monsters escaped from the LMI.
