Royal Rijkenland Air Force
OPLAN: Nightwatch
Acting upon the good will of international humanitarianism, the Royal Rijken Air Force will begin the deployment of aerial units intended for the purposes of neutral, non-partisan aerial wartime observation in the on-going civil war occurring in Donau-bundesreich. Furthermore the RRAF will also assist other air forces in escorting civilian aircraft away from the proximity of the warzone.
Elements of the 3rd Early Warning Wing (also known as the Koningsoogen or the King's Eyes) will deploy over the next two weeks within observer's distance of the aerial war zone over Danubia, providing live radar coverage and early warning for civilian traffic in proximity to the warzone. In addition the 3rd will also work with the Rijken Red Cross to track any actions from the air which may warrant war crimes, such as the bombing of civilian areas and the employment of WMD's. Elements of the following squadrons of the King's Eyes will be deployed:

The 4th Support Wing, currently in the operating theatre of Orange-bourgogne, will also lend 12 C-17 Globemaster III's to assist in the logistics of this operation, code-named Nightwatch.
The Royal Rijken Air Force is currently in the process of green-lighting ramp space, landing requests and airspace passage approval from Novaya rossiyskaya imperiya, Rzeczpospolita poland, 
Imperial Eagle and 
Labyrnna to maintain the 3rd EWW and 4th ASW while they conduct wartime observation and assist civilian aircraft in avoiding the warzone.
The two wings will make stops in RAF Ascencion Island, RAF Lakenheath and Amsterdam Schipol, assisted by aerial refueling elements of the 9th Tanker Squadron.
All units will be temporarily assigned under the newly-made temporary 45th Expeditionary Air Force. The RRAF is requesting the Air Force of Labyrnna's approval to set up operational headquarters for the 4th in Meiringen Air Base in Switzerland.

Capt. David Jackson peered out the Commander's Hatch viewport and shook his head. All around him, nothing but craters, bombed out buildings and the rumbling tanks and IFVs that made up the regiment. They had been ordered to conduct a search of the area for any trace of the rebels who likely were still in the region but he somehow doubt they stuck around after the Air Force's clusterf*ck of a raid. "Nothing moving out there expect the wind and smoke from the flyboys screwup. What the hell were they thinking dropping that much ordnance on this place? All they did was kill a sh*tton of civilians and with little to show for!"

Morale continued to fall across Budapest over the soviet/communist siege of the city. Richárd Mészáros has spent much of this time in his office in the Bundesrat with a copy of the soviet ultimatum still on his desk. At first the Republican defenders had been optimistic about the siege, believing that their ISA allies would soon arrive and break the siege, hopefully turning the tide of the war back against the communists. Sadly however, nothing had come, and many had given up hope that their ISA allies would ever arrive.
Mészáros took a deep sigh, it was his decision to expel the Left-NRP and now they were at the gates of his city. He had never expected that things would turn out like this, but he remembered the real goal. Budapest was only one piece in a greater game, and it was the survival of the Republican cause that was the greatest priority. Following an invitation, his military advisor and friend, Anton Bötticher arrives at his office and the two begin to discuss the possibilities.
It had already become clear that the current republican position in the north was unsustainable, surrounded on all sides the republicans had been forced to overstretch their resources and could no longer efficiently defend their holdings around the hungarian plain. The same had now become true for Budapest and unfortunately, the Republic would have to temporarily it in order to protect what they still had. This had turned into another problem though, it was unlikely that they would be able to simply leave the city thanks to the soviet encirclement and if they were to surrender without any reservations there was no doubt the communists would take the opportunity to detain the republican leadership.
The plan had been set. The Garrison and remaining armies present in Budapest would consolidate and attempt to leave the city. A letter would be sent to the soviet invaders agreeing to surrender the CITY, but only if the soviets would agree to allow Mészáros and his Cabinet safe passage away from the city in hopes of setting up a new center of government in the city of Agram.

The elements of the Furstian People's Army, along with their comrades of the Left Revolutionary Army have successfully concluded their offensive maneuvers with the capture of the city of Neusatz (Novi Sad), Danubia (Donau-bundesreich).
Once reinforcements from Temeswar (Timisoara) arrive at the frontlines by the end of the week, new offensive operations aimed towards the city of Esseg (Osijek) shall be undertaken.

Joel Costa walked down the streets of inner Hermosillo. He was accompanied by his Vice President, Virginia Carballal. Together they ran the Hermosillo City branch of the Catholic Workers Party, one of the busiest branches in the country. Flanking the two were a small group of large, intimidating looking men who worked for the CWP as security. Each of then was armed, although Costa and Carballal were not.
They were returning from celebration; the party had stormed the Chamber of Deputies. Tipsy as they were, Costa was still attempting to have a serious discussion about their plans moving forward. In this instance he was informing Carballal (who was already aware) of the goal to have a universal, public healthcare. 'It would do away with that wretched national insurance scheme!', he proclaimed loudly to her. She nodded enthusiastically in response.
The security tailing the two were visibly uneasy and had objected to them walking back to the party headquarters - there were more than enough vehicles available. These fears were dismissed by Costa. He was never afraid and wasn't about to be intimidated by his city at night. Nearly all of the denizens of the inner city were CWP voters and even those who opposed him within the party wouldn't resort to violence.
As they walked, the air became unusually cold. Carballal shivered and zipped up the light jacket she had on. Costa was too drunk to feel the drop in temperature but noticed his companion's discomfort and spoke, 'Never mind if it's chilly, we're almost there'. His goofy grin made her laugh.
They were two minutes away from the headquarters when a loud explosion was heard ahead and a fireball erupted above the roofs of the surrounding buildings. A cold shock overcame Carballal and she shouted for the three men to run ahead to see where the explosion had come from. She turned to Costa and began speaking, 'Joel, I think that's the party hea..'. Her speech was cut short as the sound of gunfire erupted throughout the night.

Shock has overcome the nation tonight as reports of the murder of Joel Costa and Virginia Carballal, President and Vice President of the Catholic Workers Party Hermosillo City branch respectively, have come flooding in. The party headquarters were also destroyed in an explosion described as "enorme (enormous)" by the few witnesses NLN were able to find.
President Beto León has come out to express his shock and disgust, describing the events as 'a sickening affront to the people of Sonoria'. The President also said federal police suspect that party leadership, not including the two victims, were involved in loaning out funds from the party's election nestegg to criminals who did not wish to pay back the loan. Three men who were accompanying the pair have gone missing and are being included in the police investigation as potential suspects.
Chairwoman of the Catholic Workers Party, Paulina Illescas, has not yet commented on the incident although sources close to Illescas say that some internal friction surrounding the murders has arisen. The Chairwoman is still expected to make a comment sometime over the coming week.

Outskirts of Budapest — The Chernivtsi Army Group received the offer from Mészáros and his Cabinet. General Boris Pushkin, who is overseeing the whole operation personally, responded with a counter-offer: "The 50,000 Republican soldiers present in Budapest, along with their leadership - political and military - shall surrender unconditionally. If Mészáros and his Cabinet love their city and their country they will accept absolute surrender of the city. The deadline remains: If they do not surrender the city within a week, the Red Army shall pulverize it and everyone in it." The Kremlin ordered the deployment of twenty (20) Tu-22Ms from the Engels Air Force Base (Saratov Oblast) to the Kiev Air Force Base. Appropriate levels of ordinance are being transported, enough to "flatten the city" as the Kremlin mandated. Additionally, fifteen (15) Antonov An-22s were also being deployed to the Kiev location. If worse comes to worse, they would be carrying their maximum payload (80,000 kg or 176,370 lb) in pallets full of explosives. They would fly over Budapest and drop them down to the city. If the city were to be bomb, the Kremlin wanted to opt for the "humane solution" and deliver as many bombs as possible in a short period of time instead of dragging out a bombing campaign that would see the further suffering of civilians. To give a clear signal to Mészáros, the Tu-22Ms would flight over the city every couple of hours. This, with the intention of increasing pressure.
The Rejection of the offer took a heavy blow to Republican Morale with many fearing a soviet attack to be imminent and their chances of survival near impossible. Mészáros took a sigh and threw his copy of the response in a small paper bin in the corner of the office. Mészáros stood up and walked outside where much of the Budapest Garrison was now consolidating. If the soviets were intent on capturing him and ending the republic here, then they would have to take their chance and break out. Inaction would only lead to their downfall regardless, while despite having a tiny chance of success a breakthrough would be the only way to save the Republic.
12,000 republican defenders in the city willingly volunteered to stay behind in a last stand, holding off the communists from the city until the very end while the rest of the republican garrison would march on the western half of Buda city and attempt to break out of the soviet encirclement. They were given orders to fight to the death... this day would decide the fate of the republic and whether she would die in the flames of Budapest or rise like a phoenix and strike back at the communist invaders.
Mészáros would not justify the communists with a surrender. He would not betray his men, the republic will survive. He takes a final look at the Bundesrat, hoping that they can return to her one day, and gives the order to charge.

The sweaty, militaristic councilman feels a the stone cold barrel of a pistol near his right temple. 'Surrender now. Put your hands up, nice and slowly'
The man tightens his facial muscles, frowns, and attempts to knock the gun out of the woman's hands. As he starts turning to knock the gun out of her hands, the woman realizes what the councilman is trying to do. Without hesitation, she fires the barrel. With a bullet hole in his face, Ante Spiric falls down. The first blood of the alternation has been drawn.
'You see what we are capable of. This is no drill, no silly play, this is your end. If you want to join your comrade, I invite you to try.'

Spalato Commune beings Naval Operations around Ragusa
Following the Coup in Ragusa and the fall of the city to Republican forces, the new communist-aligned navy has begun operations to move through the Adriatic and blockade the port of Ragusa. Dispatches have been sent to the Furstian and Soviet Navies asking for assistance, in order to attempt to block any attempts at landing ISA expeditionary forces in the port. In addition the subs will make extensive use of their Kalibr missiles to strike precise strategic locations across the city.

Many republican generals have met to establish a temporary emergency government at Agram. Here they formally sent requests to a number of ISA nations asking them for support against the dominant communist insurrection. This government shall take charge of southern operations while the main republican government is encircled in Budapest and are preparing to take power should the republican government fall during their attempts to break out of the city.
The Republicans are continuing their doctrine of heavy assault against the South Slavians in order to consolidate power in the south and prepare for an eventual counterattack against republican forces.

The roar of the egines on the massive aircraft rumbled throughout the cargo are as men began to stand up. Cpl. Yates stood up and did his final equipment checks before the drop outside Marburg. He had heard that the assault at Banja Luka was going to get underway around the same time but he pushed these thoughts from his head as the rear ramp of the plane open and the howling wind now overtook the whine of the engines. As men began jumping from the plane, Yates made a final prayer and then jumped.

The constant roar of engines roaring over the airport had woken may people up from their sleep as in the dim morning light they saw parachutes and planes landing all over the airport. The personnel employed at the airport were shocked when hundreds of armed soldiers burst through the doors checking every room and clearing tables and check-in stations. Before long, the airport was under firm control and the flag poles outsides had their flags taken down and only one was place on the center pole: The flag of the Union
Union Army stages massive airdrop outside Marburg, take control of airport
The Union Army has announced that the first stages of its combat operations in Donau-bundesreich have begun today after conducting a airborne drop outside the city of Marburg using troops from the 101st and 82nd Airborne Division. Between 2,000 to 5,000 men have made a combat drop outside the city of Marburg and have begun to secure the area and prepare for future drops and landings. Meanwhile, the Banja Luka International Airport has been seized by elements of the 4th Armored and 8th Infantry Divisions. A total of 4 brigades have begun to fortify the airport against any attacks and are currently preparing for more arrivals from Fort Hood and Fort Bend. It is hoped that with the seizure of the airport, resupply will be easier until the Navy arrives and later transport ships which are still loading in various ports along the East Coast.

Maj. Williams went over the pre-flight checks as he waited for clearance from the tower to begin takeoff. Ahead of him, four other Auroras and one B-52 waited their turns to take off from the city of Ragusa and strike the Communist faction warships blockading the port . It was planned he was told that if enough of them were sunk, any attempts by the Soviets and their allies may be prevented from occurring and pave the way for the Navy to reach the area unhindered. The flare of jet engines ahead of him told him that the rest of the Auroras had taken off and the sole B-52 was rolling down the runway. Taxing his own bomber into place, he waited for clearance. Soon after, the tower informed him to begin takeoff and he gave the powerful engines full power, the heavy super sonic bomber roaring down the runway before lifting into the night sky. It's target: Ragusa, Donau-bundesreich and the Communist warships outside the port. He knew every plane in the strike mission was loaded with guided bombs and cruise missiles and that they would likely make short work of the small Communist fleet but a few of the Air Force's long range fighters and a few of the KC-110s were joining the mission and would meet up with them from Pensacola Naval Station and off the coast of Virginia for the long trip to Europe. Williams chuckled to himself before speaking in a low voice
"May you live in interesting times..."
Looking at the mission clock, it would be several hours before they reach the target area and begin strikes against the Communist warships. Until then, he just flew the large and fast bomber to the combat zone. One other thing he remembered was that once they reached the combat zone, a few of the fighter escorts were to divert to Banja Luka and land there, being the first USAF planes to land in the region and remain there until further notice, likely as a RRF for escorting transport and bombers. But he wasn't worried about that. The bombers were plenty fast enough to outrun nearly any plane the Soviets had and it was a moot point as Ragusa was outside the NFZ.
