Official statement – Revision of representations
~ Department of State for External Affairs, Orange-bourgogne

The Department of State for External Affairs shall, as a result of an ongoing revision of His Majesty's Diplomatic Service, announce several changes to the diplomatic missions that the United Kingdom of Orange-bourgogne presently enjoys between foreign states and international organisations in the near future.

These changes will most likely include a number of changes to the various diplomats representing our interests abroad. In a few instances, they could also have an effect on the structure and type of the mission itself; for example, the Department will be looking if it is possible to upgrade some of its ordinary embassies into an High Commission. It is also likely that nations with whom we have relatively few communications will see their representation be transformed into an ordinary legation rather than a full embassy.

Details will be published in due course.

Orange-bourgogne

Official statement – Changes to representations
~ Department of State for External Affairs, Orange-bourgogne

After an extensive revision of His Majesty’s Diplomatic Service, it has been decided by the Secretary of State for External Affairs, His Excellency The Rt. Hon. James Courtenay MP that the following changes will be made:–

1. The legation to the Imperial Federation of Infiny will be upgraded to an High Commission rather than an Embassy. This is to reflect the superb and long-lasting relations between the two monarchies. His Excellency Robert Hamilton, the present Ambassador to the Imperial Federation, will retire by the end of this season. Thereafter, his role will be taken over by The Most Excellent and Right Honourable OliviaS Sutton née Southwell, Baroness Laxton, previously Ambassador to Denmark.

2. The representation to the predecessor of the Far Eastern Union of Soviet Republics will be discontinued. The situation at present is deemed to be insufficiently secure for any diplomatic mission to operate in the area. Sir Hugh Fox, Ambassador to the predecessor of the FEUSR, will come to work at the headquarters of the Department here in Westminster City.

3. The legation to the Socialist Republic of Furstia will be transformed from an Ordinary Embassy into an Ordinary Legation. Its head, His Excellency Anthony Egerton, will become Envoy to the said Socialist Republic.

Sir Christopher Colville
Head of the Diplomatic Service

I am sure that any student of politics will recognise my face vaguely, so it should not be any problem for you to fetch someone to identify me on the spot. I usually sit at the table closest to the door. Of course, I will be joined by someone else. You can distinguish me from all others because I will wear a red rose in my hair."

Having arrived at Westminster City a few days earlier, bearing a fake American passport, "Peter Wright" codename: Albatros, surveyed the neighbourhoods close to the private club, as to make proper preparations for any eventual contingencies, should those arise. If everything went accordingly, he would only pose as a tourist visiting just another club during his visit to the UKOB. Once inside, he would identify the person looking for asylum before leaving.

Hello to those of you in the World Assembly (you should join if you haven't already, just saying). I know we don't participate much in the affairs of the WA, but there is currently a proposal on the floor of the Security Council here: page=sc

This proposal is requesting to repeal a commendation of a longtime member of one of our allied regions, Karma, without any sort of replacement (contrary to what the resolution at hand seems to imply), and is widely regarded as a ploy to just remove the commendation because of largely political reasons.

Because of this, I do ask that all of you vote NO on this proposal.
I have also instructed our Chancellor, Imperial Eagle, to vote NO on this as well. Let me know if any of you have questions regarding this.

Thanks again, everybody. :)

From: Department of State for External Affairs, Orange-bourgogne
Subject: Diplomatic ties

Your Imperial Majesty,

On behalf of the Government of Orange-bourgogne, I would like to propose that diplomatic missions in the form of an Ordinary Embassy be exchanged between our two states. Being neighbours, it is important to keep communication lines as short as possible, and we hope to bring these connections to fruitful outcomes as many times as possible in the future.

If you deem this proposal acceptable, we would like to nominate and appoint The Right Honourable (Gerard Parker) The Earl of Macclesfield as our Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to your nation. Please let us know if you seek to appoint someone as your representative to the United Kingdom and if so whom that person shall be.

Subject: Permission request for bi-monthly flight frequencies

Greetings,

The flag carrier airline of Furstia, Aerolíneas Furstianas, has evaluated the possibility of expanding its current list of foreign destinations, and decided that the potential inclusion of a bi-monthly frequency to your country would be in the best interests of the company.

It is for that reason, that the Furstian National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC) is hereby requesting authorization from the pertinent governmental bodies to establish a route between the following locations, to be implemented during the first half of 2021:

For Krastelia:

Puerto Deseado - Murtala Mohamed International Airport (PDE)

to Berlin - Terminal of arrival/departure to be designated by Krastelian authority.

.....

For Dhan:

Puerto Deseado - Murtala Mohamed International Airport (PDE)

to Dhahan - Terminal of arrival/departure to be designated by Dhanian authority.

.....

Additionally, other main terminals are available throughout Furstia, in the event that airlines from your country wish to establish different routes.

Aerolíneas Furstianas is the flag carrier airline of Furstia. Formed in 1960, it started to operate regionally in 1962 and internationally in 1965.

Greetings.

Thank you for writing to us, Aerolìneas Furstianas. After a meeting with the National Defense Council, we are pleased to announce your request to have bi-monthly flights between our countries has been accepted. We will thus ensure bi-monthly flights from Aerolìneas Furtianas will occur, from January 2021 onwards, as stipulated in your original letter. You will make use of Berlin Schönefeld Airport, Terminal B.

We here at Interflug would also add that a similar agreement, to have flights from Berlin to Puerto Deseado or similarly sized airports in a bi-monthly occurance, is in our intrests. We are not issuing a formal request at this time, due to internal complications, but we will update you if it ever comes possible.

We look forward to seeing your airplanes in our territory soon.

Signed,

Sebastian Niedermeier.

Arriving at the private club, Albatros was stopped at the entrance by two men inquiring whether he had permission to be there.

"This is a private club, gentleman, not a tourist attraction. If you are not allowed in here, please leave the building."

"Apologies, I didn't mean to intrude." said Albatros to one of the men standing in front of him. "And don't get me wrong, but I've heard that your club is a nice place and I'd really like to visit it."

He reached into the inner pocket of his jacket and discreetly took out a copy of the letter written by "Rose" for him to see.

One of the men seemed to get a bit nervous. The other one, who had not been briefed, remained blocking the door. His chest was the size of a bear and he would not get out of the way.

Meanwhile, Rosie watched from the inside of the club. She could not believe what just happened. Did Furstia actually send a clown? How could they not know that in a private member club like this, they needed to dress up a bit... Hopefully, this was just some tourist who had made a terrible choice by walking into this place at exactly this time...

Not wanting to draw any further attention at the entrance of the club, Albatros said calmly to the guards:

"I know this is not way your people usually do things, but quite frankly I don't have much time in this country to learn your manners. So what's your choice, mates? Will you let a naive American tourist visit the club of his late great-grandfather for a cup of tea, or you'll send me on my way so the contents of this letter can be disclosed to another source?"

The man who had previously been a bit nervous, stepped forward and extended his hand. "Would you be so kind to let me have it for a moment?" Albatros gave the piece of paper; it was a scan of a handwritten letter. He went inside. A few minutes later, he came back with a suit over his arm. "All is in order, sir. Would you please follow me? You can change upstairs. I am sorry to have caused you any distress but I figure you would have done the same if you were in my position." His fellow doorkeeper looked astonished, but there was surely something arranged. His colleague would have never let this stranger in if he had not been personally invited by a member of the club. The second doorkeeper decided to watch every single move of the foreigner though, not losing him out of sight for even the shortest moment, as they entered the building.

A wave of applications flood the Byzantium recruitment office for the IESCO coming from The Republic of Dhan's judicial appointment body known as the Academic System. The organization made up of professors, doctorate holders, graduate students, and other nominated members of the intellectual community that has the responsibility of nominating members to the Sheikh Council, have been pushing their members to gain experience in the international community. After Prime Minister Al-Jinab's decision to allocate 1 billion Baleers (50 million USD) to the International Education, Scientific, and Cultural Organization, he addressed the nation outside the Al Zaqura Palace.

"For too long have we allowed our people to be isolated from the cultures and beliefs of the rest of the world. It is time that we take a stand and spread our united spirit and our willingness to protect the achievements of the human race. With this I am certain that Allah is with us. His Majesty the Shah and I have deliberated on the course of action we will be taking to become more invested in the world, for the sake of our citizens and for the sake of those other nations that may need the help. We must show them the compassion and strength of character that we as a nation possess. With increasing globalization in our region, we believe we could have taken many paths. We could incite violence and show tooth and claw, so that we may end up worse than we have started. We may isolate ourselves and slowly decline as a people. Or we may share our gifts and hope that these acts of kindness in the spirit of cooperation will be the cause for others to do the same. To help us when we need so and others when they do. To our international friends, acquaintances, allies, or soon to be so, we do not believe that our administration has a moral superiority to any others. In fact, we are not sure how our ways may be perceived in the greater world. The truth is simply that we as a people understand what it means to live under tyranny and what it means to fight for what is just. With the first steps we are taking with contacting every nation well on their way, we believe this action of donating a substantial amount to the non-profit organization of our neighbor is the right move in the world The Republic wants. We believe this organizations mission to be just and the people of The Republic are fully behind it. To show you how much I personally believe in the good this organization can do, I have supported my daughter Anahita Al-Jinab to apply for a position within the organization. She is young, but being a graduate in anthropology and having the idealistic views that keep our people from corruption, I believe she will do our nation proud. I cannot be prouder as a Prime Minister and as a father in the young of this nation. We currently ask the international world to be patient as we communicate our intention to set up embassies. Our Minister of Foreign Affairs, Waleed Ahmed, is truly doing a fine but labor intensive job connecting us all..."

We humbly thank The republic of dhan for its donation of $50mn. The funding will be put to excellent use when we officially kick off our organization to meet its goals.

Anahita Al-Jinab will be welcome to travel to interview for a position in the Anthropology Unit. A focus on cultural anthropology is currently needed. The position of Junior Cultural Anthropologist remains open, and we think she will be an excellent fit. The interview is held in Byzantium, home of IESCO. We will pay for her flight using separate funds already set aside by the Orthodox Church.

Songun Policy Adopted

Supreme Leader and Grand Marshal of the Republic Kum Jing-In has declared the military as the "supreme repository of power", as the policy of Songun is adopted.

As part of the new policy, the People's Defense Force will be permitted to engage in capitalist enterprise. These enterprises will be staffed by reservists or off-duty personnel, and will be able to contribute to local economies in which said enterprises are located within. The People's Government will back a state-promoted system of agriculture, which allowed the combination of military service and agricultural employment. Off-duty soldiers will be assigned to plots of land which they were to farm, while the tools and equipment required will be purchased from commercial vendors and distributed to the PDF. The military plots of land will then farm and distribute its harvest amongst nearby military units, reducing the reliance of soldiers on external supply networks and utilising a massive and efficient agriculture base to support the PDF. Furthermore, any surpluses can be sold off to the markets at market value, permitting the PDF to increase revenues and lessen its dependence on the Treasury.

The first of these military plantation enterprises will debut in the Liangjiang SSR, with more plantations to spring up across the northern end of the Chosun SSR, which has traditionally suffered from food shortages due to unproductive agricultural methods. The PDF has also expropriated the DPCO (Dongfang Production and Construction Office), officially becoming tasked with developing the frontier regions, promoting economic development, ensuring social stability and ethnic harmony, and consolidating border defence. Its settlements in the Ussuri and Amur SSRs, as well as its publicly-traded subsidiaries, will come under military control.

..............

George Reed Fontain, former Governor of Cassridge, has just won his election run for President of the Confederacy against former President Durant, Fontain won in a landslide vote both by the state legislatures and the popular vote. This is undoubtedly due to Fontain's frequent and entrancing speeches. With hardcore support from the KKK, military officials, and the common white man, Fontain has secured his spot as the head of the Confederacy. His Vice President, Jefferson R. Delmont, former KKK leader and Military General, has remained in Fontain's shadow but attracts the support from skeptics of Fontain. Now President Fontain, upon his election which he ran as an independent, announced the founding of the "Davis' Legion Party". Fontain's base is a loyal and outspoken bunch, which contradicts the current confusion of where Rosena will charge forth in her future.

..............

Fontain's Inauguration Speech: "Ma fellow Rosenans, I personally thank you, for entrusting me with the faith of our blessed Confederacy. The will of man has decided our course, as a country, as a family, and I as your President will never let you down. Never abandon you. Never fail you. Never concede against you. I, along with ma good friend Delmont, are already dreaming of our future, as a family.
My pa, as many of you know, was a good and honest man. A down to earth man. A man who would tell it to ya' straight. He was the greatest man in my life, and I only dream to be as my father was to me, as I to you all, and ma'dear children. I recollect upon a story ma' pa told me. I sat on his lap as a little boy. He says to me as he bumped me up and down on his leg, "Boy, you goin grow up to be a man of a family. Now I don know what that family is gonna look like, but you gonna need to be a father for 'em." He asked me "You know what a father is, boy?" I said "Yes, pa, he is the man of the family." When I said what I did, a disappointed look grown 'cross his dirty face. He said to me "Boy, I am only evah going to tell you this once, you understand boy?" Of course, I replied as a good boy would and said "Yes, Sir". He said "A father is a role model, right? But, more importantly, boy, now listen here, he is the man to knock some sense into his boys. He is the man to get some dirt in their blood, he only lives to please the ladies of the house and to make the boys men."
Now, as I boy, I didn't realize what he said, but I thank god ev'ry day I thought about it. I was thinking, 'bout what he said, 'cause he was going to only say it once, and he was a man of his word. But, as I stand before you, I know what he meant. I ain't 'ere to shine your shoes, to comb your hair...I am 'ere to teach you how to shine your shoes and teach you how to not look like a muppet. As your President, as I swear by god, I ain't gonna let you get pushed around unless its putting dirt in your blood and make the boys of this nation men!"

Aozhou Government Declines To Recognize Rosena Election Results

Taking questions from reporters outside of Parliament today in Canberra, Foreign Minister Christopher Bergen has confirmed that the Government will not be extending recognition to Rosena or its government following the recent elections. This statement follows a conspicuous lack of congratulations on election from Prime Minister Jonathan Wang and rumors that the Government would not pursue official relationships of any kind with segregationalist states in Western Africa.

While Prime Minister Wang has yet to comment, Foreigb Minister Bergen noted “Those of us in Aozhou know the pain of minority rule, racism, and treating certain ethnic groups as second class citizens. We have since embraced a vibrant multiracial democracy and we will work with other countries that are willing to do so as well. We will not work with countries that systemically oppress its citizens on the basis of race or ethnicity.”

War Ministry officials have determined that HS Cyclades was sunk by an OTOMAT missile

The HS Cyclades is confirmed to have maintained proper radio contact with Roman Naval Radio channels, and public channels. It’s confirmed by our own team that the OTOMAT missiles originated from outside Lecce.

All 120 souls are on board, with all 120 having been Hellenic citizens on tour of the Adriatic.

In response, by the time you receive this message, warplanes will have targeted Forze Armate Aeronautica radar installation at the following coordinate: 40°08'43"N 18°29'52"E, as well as another radar station belonging to the Roman Air Force at the following coordinate: 40°07'01"N 18°30'00"E

5 SOM-A missiles with accuracy within 16ft will have been used. Collateral damage is immense to the buildings, and are considered to be totally destroyed. Loss of life is to be determined, however we estimate around 100~150 fatalities.

18 F-16Vs fly from Tirana to 25 miles off the coast of Otranto. They engage the coordinates, and the fighters launch a volley of 5 SOM-A missiles at each target, totaling 10 missiles.

The missiles proceed to skim the sea, avoiding radar detection. Within their targets they enter a sufficient altitude and begin their descent on the targets. Flying at a speed of .94 Mach, they reach their destinations in a timely manner to allow the F-16s to fly back to base.

Ground control monitors the location of the missiles, and are able to confirm direct hits on the locations.

Explosions will have rocked the facilities, tearing the buildings apart with near pin point accuracy. The RADAR mechanisms themselves are destroyed.

The event is modelled after the Winter Olympics in real life, just going by a different name. The Geopolity Winter Games will feature up to twenty different sports, fifteen of which come from the real-life Winter Olympics. These fifteen sports are the following:

  • Alpine Skiing

  • Biathlon

  • Bobsleigh

  • Cross-Country Skiing

  • Curling

  • Figure Skating

  • Freestyle Skiing

  • Ice Hockey

  • Luge

  • Nordic Combined

  • Short Track

  • Skeleton

  • Ski Jumping

  • Snowboard

  • Speed Skating

Alongside the events that happen in the real-life Winter Olympics, there can be one to five other events that are added into the games to try and make things more fun. These extra events won't be known until a city is chosen to host the upcoming games. After each games conclude, there will be a period of one month to put your city into the running to host the next Geopolity Winter Games.

Speaking about hosting the Geopolity Winter Games, a city still hasn't been chosen to host the inaugural Geopolity Winter Games. This means that you can put a city into the running to host the inaugural Geopolity Winter Games. The deadline to submit a city to host the games is 2:00PM CST on December 28, 2020. The games will officially start on January 1, 2021 and will conclude 5 to 8 days afterwards. The Inaugural Geopolity Summer Games will be held 104 days after the conclusion of the Geopolity Winter Games.

So, what do you need to do to take part? You need to submit the name of a city that you wish to put into the running to host the games, if you desire to, and you need to submit three events that your nation can excel at! That's it! That's all you need to submit to take part! The event submissions will be due on December 30, 2020 Everyone is welcome to partake in the games and may the best nation win!

To submit a city or event sheet, please contact w4yn3#4110 on Discord or Vashnal via telegram on NationStates. Any submissions will not be accepted after the due dates. Any nation that doesn't submit an event sheet will not be able to partake in the Geopolity Winter Games.

If a city is put into the running and it is not a reasonable choice to host the Geopolity Winter Games, it will not be considered. If you are uncertain if a city is ineligible, please reach out to either two of the places mentioned above.

JNN - Traffic Jam on Kanetsu Expressway

Earlier this week, reports came in that stated more than 1,000 people were stuck in a traffic jam that was reported to stretch on for 14.5 kilometers on the Kanetsu Expressway, a highway that connects the Tokyo and Niigata prefectures. The traffic jam was caused by the heavy snowfall in the area. The people that were stuck in the traffic jam had little to now food or water during the heavy snowstorm. Early the next day, authorities closed down the entrance to the highway to try and alleviate the clogging. Two individuals were taken from the traffic jam due to medical problems. It is currently unknown if the problems were caused by the traffic jam and the raging snowstorm. The Grand Military of the Republic of Japan was able to give limited supplies to those in the jam, but did not have enough. They returned early the next day with enough supplies to help those caught in the traffic jam.

The snow is still coming down, but Nihon Expressway Company officials, along with members of the Grand Military of the Republic of Japan are attempt to move cars along the way by moving or melting the snow on the expressway. They are unsure as to how long this will take and they are hoping that the weather changes to melt the snow that is keeping the motorists stuck. While a small number of people were able to leave the scene, they had to do so on foot and their vehicles are left on the expressway. NEXCO asks those motorists to return the day after the leave their vehicles just in case traffic is able to start moving again.

Re: Establishing Formal Diplomatic Relations

Since your ministry is currently talking with our Minister of Economics about a possible trade deal and we share a border, it would only be reasonable to further cement our diplomatic relationship. As so, we would like to exchange embassies with your nation. It would be an honor for us to have one of your representatives here in Dhahan. If you would accept, we would like to send Ms. Sahar Mozafari as our ambassador to Moscow. A previous professor of public policy and philosophical writer on the works of Marx in the modern world, we believe she will fit in well in your nation. We await your response with anticipation.
