Extreme right wing elements gained notoriety and power from the depths of hell, hidden away to rest until the time was right. Evil prowls from the caverns below, and one must always keep up the fight to send the monsters away. That proved the same with the security and wellbeing of nations. The radical and dangerous ideology began to take its shape amidst the nation, where it resides with its technate member, Otyken. But history, once again, proved unkind to the great powers, as the co-founders of the technate finally succumbed to the natural cycle of slow degradation. Honalulu (Kemonomica) now faced possible insurgencies from far right groups, threatening the unstable peace between the GCS and the Honulite government. But the crossroads soon met with the Swiss delegations, upon which course of action they should take next. Innocent Swiss citizens, studying abroad in the technate, nearly met their end from the jaws of death. Soon, their Swiss scientists (SWISS HUMANS, MUSPELS, STANDARDS, JARU MOTHIANS, AND SWEIZZER FAERIES) faced similar egregious threats as the nation’s ultranationalists and conservatives gripped their hands tightly on the seat of power.

Orders from the Federal Assembly and the Foreign Affairs Ministry blasted through the radio waves, ordering their citizens studying and researching abroad to return home. Embassy and consulates prepared for the mass migration of their people. The Swiss Air force stepped up their efforts to land and transport their citizens using long-range cargo planes, and medium-sized civilian cruise ships were commissioned, by the government, to haul more people and their items. However, the Swiss embassy were to remain within the country, and its upcoming, new regime, to continue their diplomatic operations. These were the only things they could do for now… But the Swiss government cannot and would not risk their scientist’s and student’s lives during the process.

Over 15K students and scientists were accounted for by the pre-existing embassy and consulates, which worked day and night to process and reprocess their visas. However, transportation came at a slow pace as the Swiss military butted heads with the Swiss and Honulite Governments. The fragility of their connection laid its hands bare, and they knew to act fast. With the go-ahead of the Honulite delegations, the Swiss President gave their approvals to commence the mission. By late December 2013, commissioned cruise ships and cargo planes made their way to pre-approved landing areas. The operation expected its end within one-two months, ending on February 14, 2014. 

Those being the loudest garnered the most attention, whilst the silent schemes behind the scenes. Yet, none ever tried to do so within the fringes of Northwestern Ardentia, where the most recent violence occurred many years ago. The Baltocarpathian civil war was the last conflict the region tasted in a long while, but now came a new form of aggression. That came in the form of extremist ideologies and the destruction of the status quo, seemingly backed by the will of the holy divine. The Akhist nation of Kulkkistan voiced their loudest displeasure on the world stage, but at what cost? Relations between their neighbors grew wary by the month; yet, the worst may come to them. All eyes stared at their unstable and hostile neighbor, quietly observant and cautious. The Greater Swiss Confederacy was no exception. Such crisis comes and goes; no sapient being could ever avoid them, not even those who wield incredible power at their fingertips.

Malicious accusations were thrown against the free world, one that bore the serious undermining of their nation. From an ever-increasing global world, should nations not partake in its fruitful ventures? President Orlan thought. The Swiss had relatively enjoyed peaceful diplomatic relations for the past few years, but cracks started to form with two crises at once. The Minister of National Security and the Minister of Defense convened with the Swiss president and leading secretary generals of the Alpine CIDA and the Joint Alpine CSD, discussing the plan of action on the situation at hand. Their faces gave calm and silent, yet bleak, expressions. Although no serious military activities were required at the moment, they never hoped for this to happen. But, alas, they've prepared for the worst; the Kulkkistani threat was no exception. Secret Intelligence branches and anti-terrorist organizations were, thus, activated. Orders from the Chiefs of staff and the National Security Ministry (NSM) called forth their special forces, specializing in covert operations: The TASK FORCE SECURITY NINE, (nearly equivalent to the SAS). The TFS NINE consisted of interspecies teams (STANDARD SPRITES, HUMANS, MUSPEL SPRITES, JARU MOTHIANS, AND SWEIZZER FAERIES), rigorously trained in martial arts, marksmanship, and many others. Strict secrecy among the branches were absolute.  

The Greater Swiss Confederacy outlined their operations to somewhat counter the kulkkistani threat against the free world. The GCS will further reduce any pre-existing trade with Kulkkistan and bar visa travel from the wary nation; THE TASK FORCE SECURITY NINE (TSF 9), THE SWISS INTELLIGENCE COMMUNITY (SSIC), AND THE FEDERAL INTELLIGENCE SERVICE (FIS) were to conduct joint intelligence operations with the Baltocarpathian, Brennian (Brennus), Solingarchi, Amberlevian (Amberleaf), and Rykensvik intelligence agencies, once approvals from their governments were acquired. The three nations will observe Kulkkistan from within. TO COMPENSATE FOR THE ELIMINATION OF PRE-EXISTING TRADE, THE GCS STRENGTHENED THEIR TRADE WITH THE Sovereign States of Skylarvania, SHIPPING THEM SWISS PHARMACEUTICALS, HEAVY EQUIPMENT, MEDICAL TECH, BIOMEDICAL TECH, CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT, CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS, SEMICONDUCTORS, HIGH-TECH PRODUCTS, LUXURY PRODUCTS, SWISS ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES, SWISS ENGINEERING SERVICES, SWISS BANKING SERVICES, AND MANY OTHERS. The world once again faced calamitous turmoil, which grew closer and threatened the homeland. Their able-bodied soldiers, determined and ferocious, steeled themselves every year for thousands of centuries, but soon saw lacking more advanced weapons and other military equipment. Mass anti-air and bear trap stratagems proved capable with their current supply of weaponry. However, acquiring more modern technologies proved not only cheaper to build and sustain, but also enhanced the effectiveness of their military doctrines. Multi-billion dollar arms deals from the Technate (Otyken) remained on standby, but the response from the Brennian Republic proved more fruitful than the former. Military aids were placed forth by the Brennian military, offering cutting-edge missile batteries from SAMS TO ABMS. Military planners reveled at the sight of Brennian ingenuity and expertise in missile defense; although, they weren’t limited to just one field.

Brennian armor also proved their worth within testing grounds, both parties shared valuable information regarding their designs. The AMAPS Armor series and AMAPS ADS were by far the most advanced they’ve ever seen. New armor packages effectively pursued design doctrines of lightweight yet tough composite layering, demonstrating perfect alignment with Swiss military doctrines. Swiss MBTs demanded advanced composite armor technologies as their current packages, within the M190A8 versions, were becoming horribly obsolete. Brennian armor packages of light Aluminum-Titanium alloys, nano-ceramics, and nano-crystalline ceramics were subsequently bought by the Swiss, along with hundreds of missile battery procurements. Though a hefty price to pay for, —easily considered the biggest arms deal made by the GCS— it was a necessary cost they had to take to protect themselves from the world’s unceasing reigns of chaos. The nature of technological obsolescence scared the Chiefs of staff, as gaps in their defensive capabilities exposed themselves to the Confederacy’s potential foes. The deal was signed and brought over to Brennus. The Swiss Army and Air force readily agreed to their partner’s proposals for joint weapons development programs to upgrade domestic Swiss weaponry and equipment. Armed neutrality necessitated the ability and security of domestic arms production with their very own designs, made and provided by the Swiss factories and design firms. Thus, the GCS wields the highest population of Muspel Mothian Sprites, outside the enclaves. From their many thousand generations of coexistence, they truly immersed themselves between the Swiss and Sprite cultures, now intermeshed. They were renowned for their incredible intellect and prowess in genetic engineering and other fields, pertaining to genetics. But their contributions weren’t limited to genetic engineering alone; they were also the backbone of the architectural, horticultural, and semiconductor manufacturing industries, equivalent to today's standard sprites. Their larger sizes and longer lifespans gave them an edge over the standards, especially when warmer temperatures far exceeded their usual temperature range. Muspels often worked day and night like the rest of their human counterparts, and their unique, albeit weakened, abilities and talents were placed to good use within the tourism and Healthcare services, further boosting their renowned service industries in terms of economic and quality growth. Swiss Muspels and Standards transformed the country tenfold within five decades, with every Canton completely interconnected digitally. There were no doubts among the populace regarding the positive contributions the sprites gave to their country and her people. After the post-war depression, the Muspels and Standards raised their support for the investment motions with their human counterparts; with those investments, the modern GCS today never would have existed.

The concept of authority was somewhat controversial to the Muspel sprites, specifically, as they tended to obey those they deemed worthy with great leadership and charisma. However, that came to a fault. Recent improvements in the GCS education system, laws, and overall societal standards largely diminished their bad tendencies to follow evil figures and undemocratic, authoritative powers. One of the two Swiss Mothian Hybrids, the Swiss Jura Mothians were unique breeds between Muspel sprites and humans, originating within the GCS alone. Their subgroups were also pivotal to the overall development and modernization of the Swiss Confederacy, which paved the way for permanent peace between species and cantons. With their long-term stability, their political, economic, and social institutions flourished. Social services gained traction and offered their welfare to the less fortunate. The Jaru Mothians were the primary force that led to the intricate development of their social welfare system, especially their industrial and service-based economies.

Jaru politicians and urban planners even initiated the mass construction of underground sprite settlements that dotted underneath the Northern and Southern Alpine mountain ranges. Underground sprite boroughs, which housed both sprites and mothian hybrids alike, formed large districts. In the year 1934, approximately four underground cantons were founded. Although the Jaru Mothians lack the capabilities of flight, mana generation, jamming echolocation, and UV detection, they were compensated with improved physical prowess, an extra pair of arms, long life spans, and high endurance against cold and hot temperatures. These unique traits gave them the ability to do more intensive work than any other species within the GCS. But strength was not their limitation, they were also blessed with great intellect and sharp minds, just like their Gullblat brothers and sisters. Most muspels and Jaru mothians worked within the genetic engineering industries, co-founding and pioneering the Cell Technology Institute (CETI), the CETI VALLEY, and THE CETI BERN MODEL. AND IT WAS WITH THE COLLABORATION BETWEEN SWISS HUMANS, MUSPELS, SWEIZZER FAERIES, AND THE JARU MOTHIAN PROFESSORS AND INDUSTRIALISTS ALTOGETHER THAT CULMINATED IN THE VALLEY’S TECHNOLOGICAL PROSPERITY AND SUPERB RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT. The difference between the Sweizzer Faeries was their strong ability to fly like their smaller sprite equivalents. However, they neither possessed mana regeneration nor UV detection. But with their lackluster “magic” and senses, they compensated for longer lifespans, bigger bodies, bigger wings, and exceptional endurance to hot and cold temperatures. Their ability to fly was one of the most significant parts of their core identity. It was the concept of flight that took their imaginative minds to greater heights. THE SWISS SWEIZZER FAERIES, ALONG WITH THE MUSPEL, STANDARD SPRITES, AND SOME JARU MOTHIANS (TO SOME EXTENT), WERE PRIMARILY INVOLVED WITH THE IMPROVEMENTS AND THE CONSTRUCTION OF SWISS HOTELS AND TOURIST SPOTS. They even invented new sports within the wintry highlands, using skis and their wings to jump and glide off of cliffs (with safety gear and parachutes in case of emergencies). Essential mail services (for very important institutions, banks, and other social services) were done with the help of the muspels, standards, and sweizzer faeries. DELIVERIES OF MEDICAL EQUIPMENT AND ORGANS TO OTHER SWISS HOSPITALS PROVED ANOTHER VITAL ROLE FOR THE FAERIES, AS THEIR FASTER SPEEDS IN-FLIGHT AND BIGGER BODIES GAVE THEM AN EDGE OVER OTHER SPRITE AND HYBRID SAPIENT SPECIES. The majority of the Faeries trained as doctors, surgeons, army doctors, army surgeons, and other healthcare careers, where their much-needed mobility and intellect offered their services to remote villages in the GCS and other foreign countries. With their extensive cooperation with other Swiss human doctors, they established networks of hospital deliveries and transfer systems, which gave Faerie doctors the ability to immediately transfer to a hospital in need of more manpower and specialists. Rapid deployment and response consistently improved over the years, marking Swiss healthcare as one of the best in the world.

The Sweizzer Faeries were given equivalent training regimes and quality education as their Muspel and Jaru Mothian brethren. They were susceptible to manipulation and exploitation by charismatic figures, a trait inherited from the Muspel sprites. But quality education, from renowned Swiss academies and universities, trained their minds to be more receptive and critical of the substances they absorb and perceive. These teachings perfectly aligned with their medical practices and contributions to the Swiss code of law. With their training and education, the Faeries inevitably reshaped the political foundations of the country and thus facilitated the Confederacy’s efficient governance of their industrial might and economic growth. Flurries of good economic policies and investments were initiated and supported by the hybrid subspecies. Like the rest of their differing sapient brethren, the winged child, born from two cultures, became one of the most important pillars of Swiss society. They were to persevere on that notion for the next thousand generations in the long future ahead.

Megaprojects of underground metropolises, cities, and towns began in earnest in the 1800s and 1900s, when some sprites and hybrids preferred to settle and live for thousands of generations. OBLISK FACILITIES, ESPECIALLY WITHIN THE BUSINESS AND INDUSTRIAL HUBS, TENDERED MASS STORAGE OF ARTWORKS, CULTURAL ARTIFACTS, CLIENT'S VALUABLES, FOREIGN CURRENCIES, AND EVERYTHING VALUABLE IN TIMES OF WAR. DURING PEACETIME, DESIGNATED ROOMS WITHIN THE CUBE COULD SERVE AS BACKUP MASS STORAGE FOR EVERYTHING VALUABLE, AND THEY WERE BUILT WITH THE CAPABILITIES OF BACKUP MASS STORAGE OF MILITARY ARMAMENTS. 

Origins of the Oblisk Architectural style date back to the 1900s, when emphasis on aesthetics and functionality merged to form their unique architectural style.
