Dear Friends,

I apologize for not talking to you all for a while. In early February I suffered a extremely serious medical emergency and was hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit. I found out that I had diabetes, when I was admitted my blood sugar level was 797, normal range is 80-100. I was told by my doctors that had I just went to bed that more than likely would not have survived the night.

In the aftermath of my hospital stay I was taking 4 injections daily of insulin, a long acting injection and 3 short acting injections (taken before meals). Once my blood sugar were lowered to a acceptable level, I had difficulty maintaining my balance. My doctor explained to me that they believe that I had been a diabetic for a long time and that they felt that my average blood sugar could have been as high as 350, again the acceptable level range is between 80-100. The reason for my balance issues was that due to my high average blood sugar level, my body had adapted to those levels, so when it was reduced to the acceptable levels my body was forced to re-adapt. I was off work for about 2 months.

I listened, and still continue to listen, the directives issued to by my doctor. I proud to stay that on March 28th, I was taken off insulin injections. Thankfully I am very lucky to have excellent health care insurance. I did ask for and received a prescription for a Dexcom G6 device, this device is painlessly attached to my arm and reads my blood sugar every 5 minutes. The device is good for 10 day intervals. I am very pleased to say that my blood sugar average is between 100-120 which is very good for a diabetic. I did have to change my diet..but if I wanted to get well I had to, I lost 17 pounds!!, not the way I had in mind but none the less it’s a good start.

Well I’m rambling on and on about myself, sorry about that. As most of you that are active have already seen, we have suspended all the laws and provisions of our constitution. Unfortunately our region, like many others, has fallen into a slump, and has been that way for a while.

So in order to provide a stable government, the legislative and executive bodies has been merged together into the Senate, with the The civitas islands serving as Senator and as the President of the Senate (Principal Executive Officer). Civ shall serve in this position indefinitely. Zetox will still maintain his lifetime appointment as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. The other Senators shall also serve in their positions indefinitely. I will not be serving as a Senator, instead I will maintain my founding status as Head of State and will maintain the sole authority of appointment or removal of lifetime/indefinite offices.

I hope you and your loved ones are all doing well in real life - happy, healthily and financially secure.

With my deepest respect,

HARMAN H. TEASEDALE
