The only problem i see is the use of the words slightest and tenuous. While a small connection, it still exists.

You could do that, theres nothing stopping you.

I know nothing of K-dramas so you could do that too, but I personally wouldn't be interested, however i cannot stop you from talking about it.

Another problem is the fact it wasn't rp. He was legitimately asking for permission to use a ship. I granted it, and added the two ships of gold for the heck of it. It just turned into semi-rp after. However i will grant you your wish as to "start a new gmodding rp" if you so dearly wish.
