A Workers Economy?
13th of Windweave,325, Ministry of Agriculture

Sokoloff looked over the documentation of the newest resource returns, the fish were still biting, whaling was at an all time high and the coal mines were running stronger than ever. But he pondered a question that had been going around in the Chairmen's cabinet, what sort of economy would dragov truly have? For the most part they still ran by the old ways of resources being owned directly by either the state or the producer and minimal Kronor exchanged more barter then anything, but this new age of economic stability and trade with The United Roman Reich brought to light the need for true structure. Sokoloff was not a major believer of the idea of zero private owned businesses, though he did not think a truly free market would go over well with the unions or the people. He would look at the particulars of the trade deal with the Romans and an idea came to his head what if the state sold off ownership of businesses setting the rules of the contract before someone paid for it,this included the owner knowing the taxing, unionization rights and workers rights, this would allow for major economic growth and allow for those who have saved up there earnings over the years buy something that can not only support the nation but there families. He was usually the more quiet of the ministers and union leaders but this time he had a bill to pass he called it "The Red Dawn" Bill. For once he would show his cards and try to gain a bit of influence himself maybe just maybe he can start the economy that will launch Dragov into this new age,But he would have to work quickly on the particulars and his speech for Bykov cause he had gotten word that Polak had been working on a economic deal for a rather long time and from what he had heard it was a far more government controlled economy branching dangerously close to full blown communism or socialism.A outcome Sokoloff wanted to avoid due to the chance of a tyrannical government being formed through this, and the idea of Polak gaining influence made him uncomfortable especially with a election date being placed in the next two years. He armed himself with a pen, wit, and charm for he had a long road ahead of him to beat the Ministry of the Interior at its own game.
