Velvo's colonization efforts:

While sailing to Velvo's Atlantic Islands, the Azores, a ship sailed at the crack of dawn, though have gone a off track and spotted a few islands the next day, the ship was heading to the islands when slowly the tide rose and the islands were no longer there (occ: Corner Islands)! The ship sailed faster from the winds and tides turning, faster the ship went, away from hope of returning to the Azores, fortunately the men carried a good amount of supplies, for they were planning trading goods for various items in the Azores. Days went by, the waters and winds still strong, the men have discussed the possibility of turning back, half of them remained willful that the only way to return was to land and attempt to sail back by avoid the current they are in, others have declared it hopeless and that they will continue forever in the ocean and a few of the others finally said that while it may take a long time, they may eventually make it to Asia or India, for the Earth is Round and they simply must cross the great ocean, for it was God's will.
2 weeks of sailing, the men finally spot land (ooc: Bermuda), once they saw the land, they were correct on their theory that it was God's will, the sands of the shores were a rosy pink and the beauty of the island was breathtaking. Not long after collecting supplies on the Island, of some strange fruits.
The leader of the ship had a grand idea, now that they were stocked on more supplies, he suggested to his men that they must discover India through this route and inform someone, though no one will believe them, so they must bring back proof. Off the men set sail once again, with knowledge that India must be somewhere a bit lower and west, they continued and after only 2 days, they landed on India (Upper Florida).
The men come into contact with some peculiar natives that they noticed are of tan skin and assume that these in fact must be the Indians that they have theorized about.
The Indians were friendly to the Velvoans, they spoke in a strange language and seemed to gesture at their facial hair and fanciful clothing. The leader of the ship, Aloic Bernat has attempted to speak with the natives, but it was extremely difficult on both sides. Fortunately, whatever Bernat did, it ended up working, Bernat has convinced a young child and his supposedly single mother to come on board the ship, Bernat wanted to sail back to Velvo and speak to perhaps a duke or duchess or possibly even the queen and speak of the discovery, not only with words but with the Indians to prove it.
On the way back, the Indians and the Velvoans very slowly started to understand each other, by pointing at things, a notable moment was when Bernat pointed at himself and said
"Aloic" then pointed at the man next to him "Julien", the woman seemed to understand and pointed at herself and said "Nayobe", she then pointed at the boy and said "Nalitori".
How peculiar.. The crew slowly makes it way back to Velvo. What will they make of all of this?

The woman and her child has been brought before the queen, after figuring out that she speaks none of the local languages, not even Arabic as they originally assumed she was simply just a peasant from North Africa. It was believed that she was indeed from India until a missionary that was well versed in Hindi attempted to speak to her and she still could not understand the men. Perhaps she was Chinese, but they doubted it since all descriptions of the Chinese did not look like her. And so with the queen's curiosity peaked, she demands that A port must be built immediately at the newly found Island, west of the Azores. She also commissioned map makers, sailors and translators to meet the people of "India" and trace the coast so everyone could have a better idea where exactly Bernat landed.

Colonization Claimants:
Queen Victoria issued to build a port immediately at Bernat Island (Bermuda)
-Historically there were never native Americans on that Island, so we're "Attacking the Natives" so we can get that done in a month (1 day).
I also suggest we should have claiment treaties, but that can get really ugly really fast.
So as my own Treaty of Tordesillas, I humbly claim all my newly discovered coasts and anything inside and west to them. In pink.
(I say humbly because the Spanish basically claimed all of America before it was really mapped out, but of course that was kinda ignored by everyone except the Portugese for a while).
