your guys are only there for the unlikely event that a complete breakthrough happens and the krosynans are able to move through the mountains and into the forest uncontested

For a preview of the Krosnyan response, it's this.
1) - Machine guns will be positioned in the 4-story LKSW command post. Mortar will be set up.
2) - All command personnel will be moved back a few miles to a fortified artillery battery consisting of 3 howitzers.
3) - Machine guns will fire sporadically into Koshkuduk, but no fire will be put on buildings unless fire is sighting coming from the tenements.
4) - If the situation becomes serious, a spotter positioned on a mountain 700 meters south of Recz's train station will relay grid co-ordinates from soldiers on the ground to the fortified artillery battery position.
5) - About ten minutes after suppressing fire begins, it'll end and a small armored convoy along with about 30 troops from a nearby base will arrive and push into Koshkuduk.
