The people of starlight wrote:In a capitalist society, the market is driven by demand, and the government has very little involvement in the economy. In a socialistic society, the government decides what is produced and how it is distributed. A major benefit of capitalism is that the government is not very involved in production, so people can create and sell what they want. Another pro of capitalism is that people can create their own wealth, so there is an incentive to work hard. However, with this economic system, not everyone's basic needs will be met, and there will be poverty. A major benefit of socialism is that the government can make sure that everyone has the basic necessities of life by controlling the supply of goods. However, with socialism, there can be less incentive to work hard because it is harder to climb up the socio-economic ladder. This begs the question: which economic system is superior?
