Gründer Industries, in response to the mass-licensing of Gravidian hardware for foreign use, has started to make inroads to Atrax, UCA, LMC and Lion's Guard to purchase examples the export models. The eventual goal with these acquisitions will be to streamline and augment Gründer's own export designs to share as many parts, calibres, fuels and maintenance procedures as possible. The advantage of Kanite equipment is not necessarily the combat effectiveness of each piece of equipment, but rather ease of maintenance and efficiency when implemented at scale. Anticipating a future in which Kanite and Gravidian equipment is used in combination, Gründer's current objective is to make its hardware viable as a supplement for customers either with their own arms manufacturing suppliers or making us of Gravidian systems.

Bill B-56 Passes the Federal Assembly; Land Reform Coming to Kassivan
The estates of the Isle of Kassivan, long dominated by wealthy landowners, are being broken up - but at what cost for national unity?
Kassivan, an island just north of the Candayan Peninsula between the Bay of Borovia and the Candayan Sea, has been the subject of much debate in recent years. The island is flat, lush and coated in fertile soil, which for centuries has made its landowners exceptionally wealthy. Wheat, cotton, maize, barley and other vital crops have historically been grown here in abundance, and in turned have sustained the Kanite people during periods of massive demographic, economic and political growth. This influx of wealth is not, however, reflected in Kassivani infrastructure; most revenue has been poured into personal estates or luxuries, with any remainder placed in overseas banks. The local Kassivani population lives in resultantly poor circumstances, without proper schools, hospitals or even roads. It was only through threat of intervention that the landed aristocracy on the isle organized a national census on whether to ratify the Articles of Federation, and even then allegation of fraud and intimidation forced three recounts. Even after Federation, and in spite of ample support from the Sublime Porte, Kassivan remains underdeveloped and socially stratified.
Anger over this state of affairs has prompted the Sublime Porte to draft and approve Bill B-56, legislation which seeks to completely reform the ownership of land and other real estate on the Isle of Kassivan. First Minister Kanem was a particularly fervent advocate for the bill, and the legislation swept through Parliament without alteration or addition. There were furious debates among the Federal Assembly, but eventually the bill passed the 51% approval threshold necessary to advance to Chancellor Eno. The Chancellor, who rarely intervenes in matters of Parliament, is expected to sign the bill later this week.
The most noteworthy element of Bill B-56 is its use of an ancient Xandaran form of land ownership, the condominium. First introduced en masse during the 1950s of the First Era (or, at the time, the Second Era), the condominium creates fee simple estates within demarcated communities subject to collective ownership. Rather than plots separated by public roads, each condominium will be maintained by an elected committee made up of residents, each of whom will have full ownership of their own plots subject to bylaws. The condominiums will be created out of private land, previously owned by the aristocracy, and will be zoned according to bylaws drafted by the regional governors. Generally this will mean each condominium will be situated within an extended area of fields zoned for agricultural use, and the residents of each condominium will retain collective ownership of the surrounding area. These little collectives will be dubbed Counties or Townships depending upon their size and the goods they produce. It is expected that their operations will be subsidized by the Federal government, and that they will be connected by public highways and utilities. In turn, each condominium will be expect to invest a certain portion of its revenue into schools, hospitals and other vital public services. Currently, the plan is for the government to tax the condominium as a whole, rather than its residents, and for federal representatives to oversee the use and application of all funds. In the future, it is likely that the condominiums will be granted more autonomy.
This redistribution has drawn intense criticism. Seizing the land of private citizens has been regarded by many as theft, and challenges have been brought to the Supreme Exchequer Court. These challenges are likely to succeed, and additional legislation may need to be brought in defence of the bill. Further, many have pointed out that similar arrangements have failed spectacularly in the past, particularly when undertaken to fulfill communist or consensualist ideals of land ownership. The rebuttal seems to be that this redistribution has only been undertaken to safeguard resource production within a vital area of interest, and will be sustained by the federal government. While the rationale behind this land redistribution is clear, one is left to wonder whether the expropriation of valuable private property and subsequent relocation of entire populations can truly be justified by a marginally lower standard of living; for now, one can only hope that extreme public scrutiny and unwavering attention will motivate the government to be clean, honourable and careful in their application of this bill.

A flash meeting was called in the Chamber of the Orb Weavers to discuss the situation in Kanhaegeon and the ramifications that such a movement could have on Branahabeian society. Given that this class of citizen is exclusively drawn from aristocrats, tribal matrons, and oligarchs the thought of land reformation has long since been a boogeyman in the minds of the ruling elite. Though the royal family seems to not care, as they are sacrosanct and are exempt from any such provisions, the mundane rulers are no such thing. The reactionaries took center stage and got on with their anti-foreigner rhetoric. It was no different than when they claimed that re-opening the economy was a bad idea. Or that intervention into the Ascendant States was going to backfire. However, this time there was something heavy in the air. Something odious that struck a foul wind in the opposite direction. When lady Aiyng made her statement about how Aesa could open up the floodgate for such degeneracy, the topic turned into the long hours of night. Paranoid old women debated the merits of closing tourism off to these swine. By early hours of the morning, just before sunrise, the chamber had come up with some kind of plan that would gradually take hold throughout the course of the upcoming months.
First and foremost travel, be it immigration or tourism related, from Kanhaegeon is to be temporarily put on hold with no compensation paid out to anyone whose flights were cancelled at the last minute. This went doubly for anyone from Branahabei who was flying to Kanhaegeon as well. Trade relations are expected to remain normalized, and people who have official business within the nation are free to come and go; although Branahabeian citizens will undergo a rigorous evaluation upon return. AsTV7 in Aesa was given a gag order on discussing anything going on in Kanhaegeon for the duration of the paranoid delusion that struck the nation. The official stance was, that the Kanite people are experiencing an economic collapse that is forcing their people into unsafe and unhealthy tenements. That crime is on the rise, and that the state is not safe to travel to in its current environment. To prevent spillover from any extremists, the Chamber has acted steadfast as the guardian of the public from any such maladies that came with phantom turmoil. At least long enough until the media hurrah ceases its blitz on the topic. The story ran for only a week, before drama about the latest royal scandal filled the airwaves when people began to gossip about which prince was getting married. So long as the people did not get any silly ideas about communal ownership outside of their own semi-feudal models then there would be little to fear. Or so the Chamber had hoped.

Land Redistribution Plan (Mostly) Struck Down in Supreme Exchequer Court
The Sublime Porte's efforts to reform the social hierarchy of Kassivan has met with a roadblock; but will it stick?
In an emergency hearing in the Supreme Exchequer Court in Bailgeneom last week, submissions from both parties and several intervenors were heard by the full 9-judge panel in the case of MacGuintie, Barnes & Co. v. Kanhaegeon (Attorney General). Their 8-1 decision, released this morning, struck down Bill B-56 in part as being inconsistent with the corpus juris gentium as set out in the Declaration of the Rights of Man, specifically S.1.03 which holds that Every individual is entitled to the security of their lawfully acquired property. In their submissions, AG Kanhaegeon argued that the spirit of the law is to protect vulnerable citizens, and that the exploitation of citizens through unfair and classist land ownership disentitles individuals to their S.1.03 protections.
The court rejected this argument and instead accepted the plaintiff's submissions. Writing for the majority, Chief Justice Alod Marina stated the following at Para. 48 of his ruling: "The natural rights to which each individual is entitled under the Declaration are set out plainly in Section 1 of the same. The core rights, as identified by this court within the applicable jurisprudence, are identified in S.1.02 and expanded upon in sub (2) and sub (3). There is no positive right within this section of fair access to land or to freedom from exploitation. In contrast there is a very clear positive right, under S.1.03, to the security of lawfully acquired property. This right is further entrenched by sections 1.01, 1.04(1) and 2.03. 'Reading in' an exemption or caveat to S.1.03, as the defendant has asked of this court, would create a new natural right where none was intended. It was open to the Federal Assembly to include such a right when drafting the Declaration. They did not do so. To permit such considerable alterations to our nation's foundational document would not only undermine the rule of law, but would override the terms upon which the very Federation we serve was initially formed. Should the Federal Assembly wish to amend the Declaration, they may do so through the established amendment protocols."
Later in the decision, Chief Justice Marina acknowledged that the Declaration applies only to natural persons, and that corporations were not immune to expropriation schemes. The court also acknowledged a common law principle that expropriation may only be undertaken for 'fair and reasonable compensation.' This small detail is vital in the Kassivani context, as some 27% of its plantations and agricultural properties are held by incorporated bodies. The remaining 73% are held in trust or as personal property, and are thus exempt from Bill B-56 through the Declaration.
It is unlikely that the government will leave the issue here, and the Federal Assembly will likely seek either to amend Bill B-56 or otherwise amend the constitution. These prospects are more easily conceptualized than executed; in Polaris v Zathamir Oblast (Attorney General) the Supreme Exchequer Court ruled that legislation, once deemed unconstitutional, cannot be amended to effect the same overriding purpose without a constitutional amendment on the same matter. This means that Bill B-56 cannot be amended to impose extreme taxes or zoning bylaws on wealthy landowners as a means of executing the land reform without expropriation. Though the matter has not be heard in the SEC, it is also likely that new legislation along the same lines will be captured by the same jurisprudence. This leaves only a constitutional amendment. In order to amend the Declaration, the Federal Assembly will need to pass the amendment by a 70% supermajority, along with a simple majority within the legislatures of each Clan and Municipal Republic. The largest impediment to such efforts is Kassivan itself, where political life is dominated by the aristocracy. One loophole which the Sublime Porte may exploit is a referendum vote, which could override the legislature upon a voter turnout of over 80%.
Either way, this decision has set a stiff precedent against which the Federal Assembly will more than likely chafe in the coming years. While they have moved to enforce Bill B-56 against corporate landowners, private owners retain their claim to Kassivan and have begun to rally their supporters against any potential constitutional reform. The end result is far from certain, but it is clear that this battle will occupy the courts and legislatures for months to come.

Though he cared less about Champei or ViewTube as a whole, his children were obsessed with her content. Being an oddly passionate family man, the connection was drawn by anonymous Branahabeian agents operating in the Ascendent Free States in order to exploit this. This was designed to teach them altruism at a young age, when that is still a missing value in most boys' lives. Each merit earns a higher ranking, which allows their unit to send a representative to the council in their local lodge. From here, their lodge divides their council up into 3 parts. This division is arbitrary in practice, but serves to teach them how to interact with different bodies of society in harmony.
With only a little bit of pressure, and a lot of motivation, the ABCs have spread across all of AFS except for Maggan, who have expressed concerns with the Generalissimo in matters unrelated to the Boy's Club. Seen as being too connected to him, it was banned in that state, but that has not stopped unofficial ABC-like organizations from sprouting up. These copy-cat organizations hold no representation in the official Ascendant Boy's Council, however, but they are allowed to take field trips to their camps and organize together.
Given the ideology behind the Ascendant Boy's Club, it was only a natural that they would try to reach out into 
Long Gravida itself. Given that both share a hold on the peninsula together, it would only make sense to petition their local governments for permission to open up new chapters inside of the nation. The political implications would be obvious. This would serve to strengthen the Left's stance in the evenly divided energy gap. An Ancient Isle is Quarantined
Rusted ships had been sent out from the scraports infamous both within and without the city states. A leak by the Watchdogs of International Environmentalists (WIE) shows numerous records of explosive charges leaving ports, bound for the uninhabited island. What WIE plans to do now is unknown, but their organization is hampered by a lack of legal recognition in the city states.
The government's response has thus far been silence. Though aligned nominally with the merchant-class of their nation, the Imperators have not commented on what would seem to be a significant hampering of East Luverian-bound trade.
