SMUGGLED GOODS: PART I
17 May 1996 - Ouallah, Mwali, Comoros, East African Federation

Two police technicals scatter dust about the roads as they speed further down the dirt pathways through the small port city. Locals gather all about to watch as the soldiers, clad with Model 58 rifles, bark out at one another. In front of the truck, a beat up Chevrolet 1988 C/K 1500 outruns both of the trucks with two armed men in the back firing off rounds from an AKM at them. The two men, speaking Somali, bark at each other between shots as the driver inside the front does his best to keep the truck from sliding off of the road and from getting shot.

Mohammad Farrah Aidid: “Hurry up, wacal!”

Omar Muhamoud Finnish: “I’m going as fast as I can! The truck can only go so fast on these damn roads!”

Aidid, sitting nervously in the passenger seat with an AK-74U in hand, watches out the window while listening to the crackle of gunfire. The police officers behind them narrowly miss every shot, mostly due to the bumping of the vehicles on the road. Omar quickly makes a swift turn down an alleyway, one which the police technicals fly right by. Omar and Aidid breath a sigh of relief, knowing the policemen will come down the alley after simply turning around. The gunmen kneeling on the bed of the truck reload their AKMs. One of them lean in towards the window, yelling as loudly as possible over the roaring engine.

Gunmen: “The contacts might not even be there anymore once we get there! Is this really this important?”

Mohammad Farrah Aidid: “Rajul, the shipment we’re receiving from our boys in Mozambique has more worth than I think you could possibly understand. Maputo’s loaded with this qarf, and we’re lucky to get our hands on it. If we get it here and get it safely back to Somalia, we’ll have a lot of Lire in our hands. Omar, can you please hurry up!”

Omar Muhamoud Finnish: “Aidid, SHUT UP! Wallahi if you keep complaining I’ll just crash the car and send us all to al-Nar right now.”

Mohammad Farrah Aidid: “Look, we’ve got deadlines Omar. You know this as well as I do. Our contacts at the port are putting a lot on the line for this, and our contacts in Xamar are avoiding detection and have been for days.”

Just as the Chevy jerks to make a hard left out of the alleyway, the gunmen see one of the technicals enter at the entrance some 500 feet behind them. A shot narrowly misses one of the gunmen, shatters the window of the truck, and almost hits Aidid’s ear. He throws his hand up to cover his ear instinctively before shouting a number of profanities.

The waters of the Mozambique Channel start to come into view, as well as the warm water port on the fringe of the town. Now on the downhill, the Chevy picks up speed and starts to barrel on the downhill at speeds of nearly 80 miles an hour. Civilians jump out of the way of the massive truck as it comes down, ramming into wooden poles holding up carpets in street markets and vendors. After a sharp right turn and another left, the Chevy finally arrives at the port. The sound of the technicals behind them force them to act quick.

Aidid and Omar pop open the doors and jump out of the front while the gunmen leap off of the bed of the truck. As Aidid and Omar speed walk towards the dock, the two gunmen meet up with another three mercenaries with an RPG-7 and a PKM. They set up a position behind barrels, waiting to keep off the police for as long as possible. As mercenaries, they are expected to protect their escortees. As Aidid and Omar walk onto the dock, they are met by a man dressed in shabby, torn clothing with long, bushy hair. Speaking only Portuguese, he motions towards a small private yacht docked in the port.

The three men hop into the yacht while their armed thugs open fire on the two police technicals. Shiphands quickly untie the boat from the dock, letting it out into the open sea. As the skirmish between the mercenaries and the police continues, the boat safely makes it out and away from the island. Aidid and Omar, now safe, have time to take in the view.

Omar Muhamoud Finnish: “Mwali is beautiful. The whole Comoros is beautiful. I can only imagine Mozambique is as beautiful.”

Mohammad Farrah Aidid: “I’ve never been.”

Their attention is drawn towards a wooden crate. Aidid lifts open the lid, revealing a small metal box inside, the iconic three-pointed nuclear hazard symbol printed directly on it. Writing in both Somali and Swahili is faintly written on it, some logos, some warnings, some names.

Mohammad Farrah Aidid: “Do you understand how much black market uranium goes for these days, Omar? I can sell this to whoever. Hell, I might sell it to the atomic plant outside Xamar once I get there. The government needs to get their hands on uranium anyway.”

Omar Mahmoud Finnish: “We’ll be there in four days time. For now, just enjoy the view."

Soviet Union declares war on Finland

The Soviet Neighbour of Finland, openly referred to as Soviet Territory by Comrade General Secretary Petrov, today had its Ambassador in Moscow handed a declaration of war between the two Nations. As a result of which, the two states are now formally at war. Petrov Stated :

"The Finnish State is not only in disregard of its Socialist Government, but also in disregard for the love of the People. The Union of Socialist Soviet Republics is itself a construct of the People, and as such we shall respond in their place, to put down this false State on our Border. Any intervention by foreign Powers shall be seen as a direct declaration of War on the USSR."

President-Councillor Karpal Singh Lands in Tokyo to Meet Prime Minister Ryutaro Hashimoto

President-Councilor Karpal Singh or simply Karpal as he is often referred to has set his sights on securing a closer relationship with Prime Minister Ryutaro Hashimoto of Japan who was elected only 5 months ago by the nation's parliament after his predecessor's resignation. In the face of Amsterwald, although weakened, still posed a considerable threat and the People's Republic of China, Japan is viewed as a vital ally that must be won over to ensure the survival of Malaysia.

That addition to my national factbook was a temporary one since I wanted my factbook to look better while i still gathered stuff for my other factbooks (military, economic, etc), I added it since i found some very very old mentions of finland while using the search messages button, i had no idea what was that about and it was just to look better and i was going to delete it later since i had no reasonable source of using it

Subjugation of Finland - Forces '96 in motion

Finally afters years of preperation and anticipation the order was given, the full-scale invasion and occupation of Finland. In total around 230,000 Frontline Personell would take part, 28,000 of which would be from the Baltic District with orders to utilize their naval invasion training carried out under Forces 96' to enact landings to cut off enemy supply and reinforce lines.

BALTIC DISTRICT ORDERS :

In coordination with the Baltic Sea Fleet, a singular Division is to land at Hanko, while another attempts a landing at Ingĺ. Both are issued with marching orders to go on the offensive in the direction of Raseborg upon achieving a landing, to occupy the vital Bridge there and there assist in the capturing of Helsinki.

Air Forces from the Baltic District will additionally assist in their operations, by mainly supporting air to air capabilities and less so air to ground operations. Conducting the landing shall be 8x Alligator-class landing ship & 12x Ropucha-class landing ship with which the more heavier weaponry will be able to be transported.

Comrade Airmen from the Soviet Transport Corps shall drop Supplies when needed, utilizing their excellent Antonov An-22s.

Due to the existence of Finnish Coastal Batteries, albeit low in quantity, the Baltic Sea Fleet shall provide bombardement one hour beforehand to soften up the Coastlines of both Areas.

LENINGRAD DISTRICT ORDERS

Learning from the brutal events of the Winter-war between the USSR and Finland in the 30s, Soviet Planners had left out any offensive action along the Border north of Imatra, instead focusing on the Population and Infrastructure rich southern coastline, where the true result of the war would be decided.

The six Echelon-type Divisions (Tank & Mechanized) are to split into two main offensive Groups, Group North and Group South.

Group North (2x Tank, 1x Mechanized, 42,000 Personell) is tasked with attacking the Finnish Town of Imatra and using its position along the vital Road-link to attack westwards along Road 6, in doing so occupying the smaller towns along the way. This Group would smash over the Border at Svetogorsk, only a few miles away. Preliminary Rocket Bombardement would begin shortly before the offensive, without regard for Civilian losses.

Group South (1x Tank, 2x Mechanized, 42,000 Personell) would make the push straight for Helskini, however unlike Group North is to be backed up by two Infantry Divisions to shore up the line the further they advance, to allow for the full punching force of the Groups Armored might to come into action. This Group would push straight over from Torfyanovka, however unlike Group North Group South has top priority for Air Support and therefore Preliminary Bombardement was not seen as needed.

In particular however, the two Kirov Class Battlecruisers of the Baltic Sea Fleet, have been ordered to provide dedicated fire-support due to the coastal position of Group South's thrust.

Taking part in the invasion are :

2x Infantry Division- Regular
4x Infantry Division- Reserve
1x Tank Division - First Echelon
1x Tank Divison - Second Echelon
1x Tank Divison - Third Echelon
1x Mechanized Division - First Echelon

He has time to prepare factbooks.

Plus i am not in the business of making people put in immense effort into making all the history and factbooks of their nation, just for me to annex them moments after they finish.

I would rather attack while these things are not established, meaning all he has to do now is make a military factbook to face me.
