If everyone in the RP could do me a favor...

Could you please state the name of your nations Intelligence Agency. For example, in Nedea we have SYCON, the Syndicate Contingency Network. In the Network we have Inciters, who are our chief agents. SYCON's Headquarters are the Clouded Spectacle.

Just stuff like that. I really want to get back into my Data Expunged story and having a ground for the other agencies would be cool.

Happy New Year!

Here’s to a 2018 that’s healthy, safe, peaceful and prosperous to each of you, your loved ones, and friends.

The People and Government of Athretvari wish a Happy New Year, and a send a warm welcome to the People and Government of Ondina to the New Coalition of Nations!

Thanks for asking, good to think about it.

There are several “intelligence” agencies within Athretvari. The two most dangerous and skilled, and thus most important to Ath leadership are the Office of Finality within the Department of Special Operations of the Ministry of Defense, and the Strategos’ personal/privy protection force, officially called the Strategic Guard, but more commonly referred to by their ancient Athretvar name, Joxo, meaning “(the) Eye”, as they were originally the intelligence gathering agency of Admiral Siul Syer, the dictator that established modern Athretvari.

The Office of Finality is very similar to the American CIA, serving as the nation’s official intelligence agency and acting accordingly. It is led by Vice-General Fudasa Fuda.

Joxo are mostly known as assassins. They are reknown for their Shiga-Jujitsza fighting skills using Shiga-Wire Personal Battle-Augmentation Suits (“Shiga-suits”), which use two types of special “smart-wires” and antinewtonian-field microgenerators. The first wire is a type of “shape-programmable” high-strength wire that gives the suit-wearer incredible speed, strength, mobility and flexibilty. The second wire is a nano-wire variety of the first that is vibrated at ultrahigh frequencies and highly energized. These wires run along the suits arms and legs, and glow when activated. That’s when everyone usually freaks out because they can cut through nearly anything including diamond. The only thing that can “stop” them is an anti-newtonian forcefield (microgenerators included on each suit) which simply pushes back against anything pushing against it with near equal force, upto a point. Basically, they slow down an opponent’s attack just long enough to give the suit-wearer time to dodge the attack, a task made simple for experienced Shiga-fighters with training.

Note that a vast, vast majority of Joxo agents are female, as the stresses of the suit require extreme flexibility and Ath females have a genetic mutation where every 1 in 100 is double-jointed. Most agents, though majority female, have “Russo” sounding male-gendered codenames such as Dimitri, Yuri, and Vladimir. The current director of Joxo is unknown, but it is officially led by the Strategos.

Both agencies function inside and outside the nation’s borders, but tend to concentrate on different types of targets. It is rumored that Joxo often “influences” major and seemingly minor events within Athretvari.

The Government of Athretvari congratulates the Government of St Saratoga on its election as Regional WA Delegate of the NCON. Athretvari wishes to cooperating closely with St Saratoga on addressing issues of common interest at the WA and toward reforming the international organization.

The Athretvar government is an observer-state to the WA, having a voting representative therein via Wicko. Athretvari has often criticized the WA for too often violating national sovereignty by passing resolutions focused on internal affairs and regulations as opposed to those focused on encouraging and supporting consensual and voluntary international cooperation. The Athretvar government is hopeful that St Saratoga will support reforms at the WA, and that it is also willing to work with Athretvari on the drafting of new resolutions focused on cooperation and common issues facing PMT and FT nationstates.

Well, with the new year underway and some special projects brewing, I'm going to dive back into the RP. Won't be anything crazy yet but will at least help get things going again. I kinda like what Ath is doing, posting IC reactions or role play on the RMB. I think this is something a lot of us can adopt in one way or another. For me, I will be posting my main role plays in the Delta Episode (At least IC RPs relating to the Delta Episode) and then posting a short synopsis on the RMB with a link to the post.

Should be fun!

So everyone, I have good news and bad news. The good news is through practice and experimentation I have developed a far better way of producing the regional map. I'm now able to produce the map in a much much higher resolution and because of that we now have this option!

https://ibb.co/ed6zSG

Yea! Cities and roads! And possibly any other thing you want added. And the best part, this image is at 100% zoom. Here it is at about 20%

https://ibb.co/h7CHEw

Of course what I'm showing you here is just my testing map I made for this new method. But now onto the bad news. . .

I am unable to convert the current Delta map to be compatible with my method. First the image is just too low res and the terrain is not going to work for me. If you guys like this new method better I can make a map that will work and it will be completely expandable, customizable and in the near future, interactive! We really have three options here:

1. We continue to use the current Delta map and method and forget about this breakthrough.
2. I try my best to make a map with the new method and get as close to the current Delta as I can.
3. I make a new Delta map, pulling inspiration from the current one or going in a different direction. With this I can make Delta bigger, more realistic (I forgot ice caps in the current one) and any other recommendations any of you have.

I know a lot of us are tired from never really getting to settle down anymore with all these different worlds. So if option 3 is picked we can have a sort of lottery to see you gets first dibs and we can canonically just assume the new map is how it has always been on Delta and no one has to know.

So what do you guys think?

I'd pick option 3, we get as close to the original Delta as we want to be and once we're all back on the map no one has to know how different it is. It seems like a much better map option and could go a long way to help draw in newcomers.

Get a new image host though, the second image needs more jpeg.

Does this region use NS Stats?

Greetings!

We normally like to keep our Role Play open and we interpret the quality of the RP as more important than Stats. We recognize stats but we don't base 100% of our RP on them.

Ok

I forgot the log in details for my imgur account and didn't want to sign up for another image hosting site. I just quickly used a no log in required host for demonstration purposes.

I also vote for Option 3. Cool with a map based/inspired by current one or something new. Only thing I’d like to see are just a few very large continents, and lots and lots of islands. Not scattered any olde place, but nice island chains like the Japanese archipelago.

Remember a globe’s dimensions on a flat map are 2 units wide by 1 unit high. So a map of a globe that’s 1000 pixels wide should be 500 pixels high. Do that and you can easily layer it onto a globe, like maptoglobe.com.

Oh, I agree with Moarfall, need more pixel-resolution on the second “big view” map. Cant read the text.

I can manage that. A few continents here, a couple seas there and a dash of islands everywhere.

Also, I should mention to you and Moarfall, I literally just took a screen shot of my program and uploaded it to an image site. They were not by any means the actual resolutions of the map. I just wanted to get my example out. You guys are funny.

We're sticklers for quality, surely you know that by now, Ned?

Also; Welcome Salzovienna!!

Ditto with Ath & Moar

The Government of Saratoga will be more than willing to work with our Athretvari friends on WA related issues! We will reach out when our representative to the WA has been nominated and approved by the Senate.

Saratoga’s Agenda Items:

  • Write new requirement tg

  • Twlightbot to start recruitment

  • RP WA Nomination

  • Plan new rp stuff

It's been awhile. I thought I would stop by and say hi for a bit.

Hajewigk wrote:It's been awhile. I thought I would stop by and say hi for a bit.

Heya! Good to see you.

Hajewigk

8.6 billion! Oh how the Hajewigki have grown. I remember when they were just a scrappy little NPC tribe along our borders.

St Saratoga and Hajewigk

Hajewigk wrote:It's been awhile. I thought I would stop by and say hi for a bit.

Anyone is welcome here. Even if only to say hi! How have you been?

Hajewigk

Nedea wrote:Anyone is welcome here. Even if only to say hi! How have you been?

I've been good mostly active here in capitalist paradise. How are you lately? How is everyone actually.

Athretvari wrote:8.6 billion! Oh how the Hajewigki have grown. I remember when they were just a scrappy little NPC tribe along our borders.

Yea, I think that they were in another country also. I think ivastin.(always get the name wrong) I personally felt that this nation really wasn't part of my empire until Enkon. It's like how I initially set up Silva1 as a weak confederation.(I had it set up really decentralized)

I think I planned to have Hajewigk declare independence if unified. It would have either served as a Switzerland or as a weak nation that flip flop sides to gain access to the sea.
