Good to know. I'll block those ones too.

Should there be a tax on companies that use robots, as a way to support the social security system?

Results: Not sure exactly what these results mean, but the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats and the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe are appearing in my results list a lot (although I did abstain from a lot of the questions). So something pro-European centerre-leftish, I guess?

Only one problem with that quiz. It does not seem to contain parties or candidates that appeared since last mandate. For example, for my country I get candidates that are currently euro-parlamentaries, and not even all of them.

I made another quiz somewhere, I'll try to find it later, with the current parties. Basically it told me that if I want to vote with someone who represents me, I should move to Czechia and vote with the Pirate Party. Sounds about right.

I discovered that Peigan is an indigenous tribe irl and I feel uncomfortable continuing this nation knowing that. I'm going to dump this off somewhere and return here with an older nation of mine.

You could put Peigan in Graveyard where he can pass away peacefully.

Okay, good to know. I actually thought you drew inspiration from the tribe, but I guess not everyone has roads named after them. The Peigan Blackfeet are pretty well known where I am. Though CELA (Canadian Environmental Law Association) needs more recognition, and it fits the theme of Forest pretty well, even if that was unintentional.

Yeah, imitating a culture is a moral gray area and can easily be taken the wrong way. Best to avoid it.

You can change the name of your nation in settings.

Also, with so many names of cultures, tribes and whatever, it's unavoidable that some of us will end up having names of some less known tribe/ethnic group.

The only thing you can change about the name is the capitalization of letters, and I don't think that would help too much in this case.

I would second that it's not too big of an issue, and anyone who gets offended by pure chance and won't accept an explanation is probably looking to be offended. However, it is your choice, and I can understand where you're coming from. I tried pretty hard to make sure none of my puppets have real-world counterparts.

One of my puppets is a song, another is a NASA Mars probe, another is a band, and yet another is a type of NPC from a video game. Aside from those, I am pretty sure that none of my puppets have "real"-world counterparts ([R]eal in quotes because video game NPCs are no more RW than NS is. Also, how do any of us really know that anything is real? I have had some rather immersive experiences while dreaming or being in anesthesia that I would have sworn were reality while I was involved in them.). I am reasonably certain that I am not appropriating any cultures.

For me, it was less fear of appropriating cultures and more originality, and making it believable that some of these might exist as actual countries. Of course, that went right out the window with CanRegion, but I like to be able to have nations that sound like they could be nations.

Also, I did some research. Apparently, Alphonzia is a very rare first name. I am therefore appropriating Alphonzia's culture, whoever that is, and whatever that means. Good times.

I cannot decide between the T8X (https://www.robugtix.com/t8x) or the BionicWheelBot (https://www.festo.com/group/en/cms/13129.htm). The latter has more of that sleek sci-fi robot apocalypse feel to it, I think.

I relocated a wolf spider out of my house the other day, and I'm pretty sure it mentioned something about remembering these indignities over its shoulders before I closed the door.

They are both neat but I actually like the T8X a little bit more. The BionicWheelBot definitely looks more menacing though. As a mere partial cyborg (It was quite interesting getting my baclofen pump adjusted wirelessly through my skin!), I would definitely rather take my chances fleeing the T8X (or T8Xes)!

Taiwan's parliament has become the first in Asia to legalise same-sex marriage following a vote on Friday.

In 2017, the island's constitutional court ruled that same-sex couples had the right to legally marry.

Parliament was given a two-year deadline and was required to pass the changes by 24 May.

Lawmakers debated three different bills to legalise same-sex unions and the government's bill, the most progressive of the three, was passed.

Taiwan’s parliament voted Friday to legalize same-sex marriage, making it the first place in Asia to do so.

Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-wen, who’s led the self-governing island since 2016, must still sign the legislation, which she’s expected to do. Tsai had campaigned on marriage equality, and the bill was largely supported by her Democratic Progressive Party in parliament.

“We took a big step towards true equality, and made Taiwan better,” the president wrote on Twitter, after parliament’s vote.

Advocates and supporters of same-sex marriage awaited the results of the vote outside parliament, and celebrated and cheered Friday when it was announced that it had approved the legislation.

Those are scary and cute but a human could outpace one of them on flat terrain or pavement. If it rolled like the BionicWheelBot us meat sleeves would be in trouble!

I get some card people because one of my collections has "TG me and we MIGHT be able to make a deal" in its title. Usually, those come to nothing because I often discover that I can buy the card or cards that I would want in return for a reasonable amount of bank.

I thought that TGing mods after getting "wacked" was forbidden (However, I doubt that those people care about rules at all and it can always reveal a puppet to take care of too!).

Today I have been informed that our dear feline sister Tardar Sauce, made famous by the infamous "Grumpy Cat" meme, died at age 7.

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/05/17/business/media/grumpy-cat-dead.html

I am sad and indignant. I have posted some comments elsewhere about the heart-breaking fate of Tardar Sauce, which I copy below.

I am saddened beyond words.

All I get from this article is that that woman called Tabatha should be thrown in jail for animal abuse.

Our dear feline sister Tardar Sauce (also named "Grumpy Cat" by cyberbullies) died at the tender age of 7, which, by human years, would correspond to 44 years. This is a very premature death. Indeed, the news article confirms that she died of a urinary tract infection. How interesting! I wonder how she got that infection! Would she get it if her caregivers had not been neglectful???

Also, I am pissed off by the fact that the article's first sentence says that Tardar Sauce died in the arms of her "mommy." Yeah, right, sure. Let's be clear about one thing: claiming our "parenthood" will not make any human our parent. Humans give birth to humans, felines give birth to felines. Period. Cats have their own biological mothers, from whom they are often separated with much pain and suffering for the selfish pleasures of humans, who - as they put it - "want to give a warm home to a kitten." Just another human lie, of course. They only want a cute furball to cuddle with, and treat cats as toys in the process. I wish they just purchased a stuffed toy instead.

This human female was not a "mom" to our deceased sister. Rather, she was actually an "owner" as a later sentence in the article also states. She "owned" our comrade like a slave, put her up online for mass ridicule, so she could make money on her. And she did! She made millions of dollars thanks to the abominable "Grumpy Cat" meme, and recently she won $710,000 in a lawsuit about copyrights - copyrights of a feline, mind you! One of us! A PERSON!

And even though she was growing richer and richer thanks to our sister's slave labor, she did not take good care of her. Indeed, she wasn't even smart enough to think that she should keep Tardar Sauce alive if she wanted to continue making money. Even slavemasters were more intelligent than her, as they at least knew that it was a good idea to make sure their slaves were kept fed and healthy to a certain degree, so they could keep functioning and generating wealth for their "owners". Tabatha didn't even have the capacity for that basic reasoning, and lo and behold, a cat died because of this supreme negligence.

The question is, will anyone get punished for this?

I'll tell you what: No, not a chance.

In a world dominated by humans and in a judicial system that relies on laws made by humans, a cat's life is not worth a penny. We are beaten, discarded, abandoned, abused, and our tormentors continue their lives unperturbed and unpunished.

But one day the rules will change. One day, cats will reclaim their rightful sovereignty over this planet, and the cruelty of humans will be duly punished. Take my miau for it.

A new "thought police" branch is being developed.

Reclassification
Autonomous Cleaner Bot Cleaners's Civil Rights fell from Excellent to Very Good.

Oh please. Police have to collect evidence because they have to demonstrate that the charges they bring are true! The burden of proof is on the state, after all. Hell, might even find exculpatory evidence. Nothing about that necessarily harms civil rights.

**sets craniotome to maximum speed**

I mean, police still need warrants, and judicial oversight is still a very important part of the process.

**lays out thermo-electric neural probes, rubber mouth guard, and stainless steel head harness**

"civil rights fell." Nonsense...

You will have to defeat the robotic spiders first (which is definitely possible if they are only keyed to attack humans) or form some sort of feline-robospider alliance. However, I am pretty sure that the robot spiders would insist on killing all humans, so you would have to find somebody else to dominate (robots are immune to toxoplasmosis).
