Okay fair enough. Also, my nation category just changed, inadvertently, and so I have updated the poll accordingly.

Dear organisms,

We value diversity in Holobiont. Everyone in Holobiont has the right believe in their own deities. Nonetheles, Persuading an individual to join their religion will be severely punished. We do not discriminate against religion, they are all equally useless.

For more information, the University of Holobiont will offer optional courses to learn about religions of the world through the School of Comedy and Creativity.

Is anyone experienced at successful tax cuts?
I failed miserably: one tax cut, and everything crashed! LOL look at my stats XD

I am not the person to advise you on tax cuts, but I have an observation. Your average income tax rate is only 36.5%. That’s pretty good for this game. Why would you need a tax cut? The income tax rate for my nation is 73%. I have no idealogical objection, my citizens get good services and nothing bad happens as a result.

Hello philosophical friends!

Forest's seventh annual Photo Contest is beginning, and as has been the case in past years, submissions are open to anyone from our embassy regions. We'd love to see some submissions from y'all! :)

Forest Photo Contest 2021

The seventh iteration of something is about the point at which one starts really feeling like it's been around for a long time. That's especially true of an event in NationStates, a game where few communities last that long, let alone the traditions they start. When then-Culture Minister Frieden-und Freudenland introduced the first Forest Photo Contest in 2015, they wrote of their hope that it "will one day be referred to as an annual tradition." Well, here we are, with not just any annual tradition, but perhaps the most widely-known event in Forest's calendar. So let's keep that tradition running: it's time for the seventh annual Photo Contest!

Here's what you need to know:

🌲 We have four categories once again this year:

  • LinkTrees (this category is permanent each year)

  • LinkMicro (close-ups, tiny subjects, and other photos that show things bigger than life-size)

  • LinkMacro (grand landscapes, wide views, and other large subjects - macro in the sense of "big", not "close up", since that's Micro!)

  • LinkWater (photos that display water in any of its forms)

🌲 You may submit up to 12 photos total. You may choose how to divide those among the different categories, but please do not submit more than 12.

🌲 Please post your photos in the appropriate thread on our forums, located Linkhere. You may also submit photos via a link to an image hosting site in a telegram to Mount Seymour.

🌲 The photos must be taken by you, but can be taken at any time (not just during the contest).

🌲 Anyone in Forest or in a region which has an embassy with Forest may submit photographs for the contest.

🌲 Timing:

  • Submissions will be open from December 6 at 20:00 GMT (3:00pm Dec 6 EST) to December 23rd at 23:59 GMT.

  • Voting will begin on December 24th at 23:59 GMT and end December 31st at 23:59 GMT, so that we will select the winners in the first minutes of 2022!

🌲 Voting will take place on a Google Form. Needless to say, please no puppeteering!

🌲 The photographers with the top three photographs in each category will have their photos acknowledged on our RMB, on our World Factbook Entry, and potentially in our next foreign update. A banner will also be created with a collage of the top photos to applaud the winners, and participants in the competition will be encouraged to add it as their nation's custom banner. Forest's flag will also be changed to the 1st place photos in each category for a week after the Contest.

Now it's time to head out and start photographing! Good luck to everyone!

Any questions about the Contest should be directed to Mount Seymour.

I dare say I am doing not bad? Basically you would have to be really fanatic about free market, sometimes knowing those issues would benefit the rich much more than proletarians. I had a >10x rich poor income ratio until the world council passed that paid leave act.

The WA should not have had such a massive impact on your rich \ power inequality numbers. 10 times to 3.4 times (or whatever the exact number is) should not have come from WA alone, and especially not based on one resolution, regardless of how significant and far-reaching the Act was. I have never encountered that in my 10 plus years in the game. Now, national issues: absolutely can!

The only time I recall a major shakeup to the stats was from a game update a few gears ago. Not sure, but I would be interested in hearing more, MountAye.

Well I am not sure that resolution was the reason. But it was unlikely to be my issue choice, since I check the results of my choices pretty carefully and have never found anything too surprising. That day when I woke up and checked my nation, I didn't noticed the change until I found that critic of wealth gap in my nation introduction was gone. Just now I checked the world council and that resolution was indeed passed the same day the number changed: page=WA_past_resolution/id=584/council=1

It could be a coincidence, since I found some issues set up a trend and will not show the full effect immediately, like recently my retail skyrocketed several days after I decided to offer my citizens business courses because "my niece" f**ked up with her fashion brand :-)

ps: didn't know the message system does word censorship :-))

36.5% was the result. Before the tax cut it was like 65% or something
