The spookiest time of the year is here, and with it comes Z-Day, NationStates' annual zombie apocalypse! Here's our guide on surviving.
It's Halloween, and that means Z-Day, an annual Nationstates event! For 30 to 36 hours, the world of NationStates will be plunged into a state of emergency, plagued by a highly infectious disease that turns its victims into zombies. Because what's scarier than a pandemic?!
At the start, most of your population will be survivors. But over time, more and more of your nation's people will be infected. And if they're not cured in time, the infected will die.
Don't worry, at the end of the event your population will go back to normal.
You have three options during Z-Day: exterminate the zombies, research the cure, or embrace the zombies. By selecting one of these options, your nation will get to use a superweapon on other nations, depending on what option you chose. If you chose to exterminate, you can kill zombies in other nations; if you researched the cure, you can cure other nations' zombies; if you chose to embrace the zombies, you can infect other nations' survivors.
You can deploy a superweapon every 20 seconds, and its strength will depend on the number of people left alive in your nation. If you get hit by a superweapon, you can't deploy your own for a few minutes.
The South Pacific recommends the cure! We'll be working to get as many survivors as possible - join us by choosing the cure, and sending cures to other nations!

Please check this link to see which nations need the most help.
You can't survive N-Day alone - we'll need to help each other. Cure missiles and superweapons can't be sent to yourself. If you need help, like if you have more infected in your nation than survivors, or if you need to go to bed or won't be able to play for a while - ask for help! Post on the RMB and ping a co-ordinator, or someone who has offered cures. And be ready to help other people by sending cure missiles to their nation! If you're available to help out, you can post on the RMB to let people know they can ping you for help.
Ask for help if:
There are at least as many infected in your nation as there are survivors
Your nation is being attacked by hordes of zombies
To help:
Send cure missiles if you have any to those asking for cures and those who are being attacked
Send anti-zombie squads to nations that are intentionally infecting other nations
Please don't:
Do not cure nations that are actively curing others (it starts their cooldown and they won't be able to cure for a while)
Do not attack other nations if unwarranted
The official regional policy of The South Pacific is researching the cure. It is important to start researching as soon as possible. Just look at the state of the world right now for proof. The highest rank the region has placed was 9th on Z4 - let's do better this year!
