The United Socialist States of Tulov is the xth most populous country in the world as of the 28th of June, 2018, behind Archuria, Jaedonstan, and ....]. Historically, the nation has always had an extremely high birth rate, but also a low life expectancy and high mortality rate prior to the mid 1900s. Since the late 1900s, life expectancy in the nation has been steadily increasing and mortality has been decreasing, though birth rates have also begun to drop.

Prior to the Thirteenth Krasno-Tulovian War, the USST had a population of 164,433,365 per the pre-war census. The territorial annexations of Talanska/Siria, Sheksna, Nikolskia, Atkarsky, Terengul, parts of Lvov-Rovne, and parts of Krasnodaria after the war resulted in a nearly doubled population despite the horrid amount of people killed as a direct result of the war.

Population

As of the most recent census results, June 19th, 2018, the current population of the United Socialist States of Tulov is 310,583,176. 74% of the population resides within cities, while the remainder are scattered throughout collectivized farms, small settlements and the countryside. The most populous states within the USST are the Tula and Dzhoneskiy Oblasts. According to the 2015 estimate, the population of the USST grows at a rate of 3.8% per year. It is currently unknown as to what effect the recent war has had on this. The vast majority of the population is ethnic Tulovian, with a minority of Krasnodarians in the south, some Rovnens in the southwest, and very few Auraxians in the far north. The dominant language in the USST is Tulovian, spoken by 99% of the populace, though most Tulovians speak at least one other language.

The people of the USST are overwhelmingly of Tulovian descent, with a mere 3% of the population identifying as anything else. Tulovians are white skinned, typically having blonde or black hair, and have either grey or blue eyes, though grey is overwhelmingly more prevalent.

Language

Tulovian is both the dominant and official language of the USST, being spoken by over 99% of the populace and all schools required to teach in it. Basic understanding of the Tulovian language is required for obtaining residency within the USST, while understanding most of the language is a requirement for citizenship.

Religion

Religion had been slowly dying out in Tulov since the mid 1900s, following the end of the Grand Autocracy and the rise of corporationism in the nation. After the Tulovian Kingdom collapsed and broke apart, the nations of Sheksna, Atkarsky, Terengul, and Nikolskia experienced a religious resurgence, while religion began to drastically decline in the USST. As a result of the incorporation of the other Tulovian states into the USST, religion is once again prominent in the nation, with almost 55.82% of the nation adhering to the Rachitist religion, and only 39.82% identifying as Atheists. A further 4.36% identified as adhering to the Olaran religion.

Rachitism served as the state religion of the Tulovian Kingdom since its very foundation, as well as being the state religion of the Tulovian princely states that once occupied the region prior to unification, and even as far back as the early Tulans. Rachitism was also the state religion of the Tulovian nations of Sheksna, Atkarsky, Nikolskia, and Terengul, and the state religion of the Lvov-Rovne Confederation, and served as the state mandated religion of the Grand Principality of Krasnodaria throughout its entire existence.

The Zvezdovist government of Tulov adheres to a status of State Atheism, and strictly opposes all religions.
