The People's Republic of The State of Mao is a colossal, socially progressive nation, ruled by Mao ZeDong with a fair hand, and notable for its ban on automobiles, pith helmet sales, and devotion to social welfare. The compassionate, democratic population of 5.065 billion Maoans are free to do what they want with their own bodies, and vote for whomever they like in elections; if they go into business, however, they are regulated to within an inch of their lives.

The large, corrupt, outspoken government juggles the competing demands of Education, Administration, and Environment. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of People's City. The average income tax rate is 98.8%.

The frighteningly efficient Maoian economy, worth a remarkable 1,173 trillion Maos a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector is led by the Information Technology industry, with major contributions from Tourism, Book Publishing, and Arms Manufacturing. Average income is an amazing 231,654 Maos, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Kissing cousins produce the heartiest babies, the police are reluctantly destroying millions of DNA records, people seem disproportionately distraught when told a museum has a phones-off policy, and a surprising number of police officers have been arrested for Eagle sacrifices. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. The State of Mao's national animal is the Eagle, which soars majestically through the nation's famously clear skies.

The State of Mao is ranked 165,530th in the world and 836th in The Communist Bloc for Most Authoritarian, with 421 milliStalins.
