The Republic of Romoos is a massive, environmentally stunning nation, notable for its national health service, infamous sell-swords, and ubiquitous missile silos. The cynical, humorless, devout population of 1.087 billion Romoosians are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

The medium-sized, corrupt, moralistic, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Law & Order, and Industry. The average income tax rate is 46.2%.

The powerhouse Romoosian economy, worth 126 trillion Ducats a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a large, well-organized, fairly diversified black market in Arms Manufacturing, Information Technology, Beef-Based Agriculture, and Tourism. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is an impressive 116,455 Ducats, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 4.3 times as much as the poorest.

Little children cry as their rainbow drawings are seized by the Straight-Thought Police, search and rescue forces now accept cheques and all major credit cards, politicians accepting drinks in bars are executed for taking bribes, and political visitors are forced to stop ten paces from Leader's throne. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Romoos's national animal is the Bear, which is also the nation's favorite main course.

Romoos is ranked 47,799th in the world and 95th in Novaya Zemlya for Highest Average Incomes, with 116,455.38 Standard Monetary Units.
