The hard-nosed, cynical, humorless population of 35.885 billion Geckocidians are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

The tiny, corrupt, moralistic, well-organized government is primarily concerned with Defense, with Industry, Education, and Healthcare also on the agenda, while Environment and Welfare aren't funded at all. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Necropolis Spire. Income tax is unheard of.

The frighteningly efficient Geckocidan economy, worth an astonishing 23,565 trillion Gecko Eyes a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a large, well-organized, broadly diversified black market in Arms Manufacturing, Information Technology, Uranium Mining, and Retail. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. The national security service are a bunch of crooks, children gain their first sex education from reading the dictionary, 90% of active duty GAF personnel have been laid off and replaced by robot kill-drones, and the government keeps introducing new foreign species to combat the previous ones it has introduced. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, despite the fact that it is difficult to make it through a day without breaking one of the country's many laws. Geckocidron's national animal is the Gecko, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its national religion is Hatred.
