I never really mastered ASCII art, I have seen some fantastic pictures done tho. I find that some characters don't translate across the different OS, so I am reluctant to try. It might look great on my device but fail later. I've found on some apps (like wikia) I can't even separate lines using my return key. It looks fine in drafting, even in preview but as soon as I post it, all formatting disappears. So now the most I use is simple emoticons like 8D, <3.

Kaomoji are Japanese emoticons. Instead of being turned to the side, they're horizontal and focus more on eyes as a means of expression rather than the mouth.
