Good luck Yytuskia! That's a big deal. One of my biggest regrets in life was turning down West Point.

Go Army, Beat Navy!

Happy things all over the regional forum, great!

Prizyetsa: haha! Nah I enlisted in the army after I finished my Ph.D, 11x 18 X-Ray program.

Except i dont think the army has won in the past decade or so but, to be fair the navy uses marines to play so....

Ah, the army lol. The least prestigious of branches... ;)

Paul: Not really. Very, very few of the academy's football players are Marine Option, they don't have time to be. And I doubt you could say that 18 X-ray isn't prestigious lol

Wait, you have a Doctorate and you're SOCOM Special Forces Selected?

Not only that, but you've got the minimum 12 months of military service required to go from US Enlisted (E-3 minimal) to US SOCOM?

Holy sh*t, the max age for joining Spec Ops is mid-20s. How did you have time to do everything? XD Consider me very impressed O_O

Well, that was a joke. but meh. Also, holy crap the Navy has won every game since 2002. Last years was fun to watch I am a little mad at the army though, I needed the navy to lose so someone I know would get hazed but alas, they failed me.

Well, the ledgends say socom is full of BAMFs.

also, the black riders have invaded new Ixnay, who ever the found is should show them the door.

That isn't true. You can enlist to 18 X-Ray at twenty, and the max age is twenty nine. I did so at twenty three. I have not been selected yet, I'm currently waiting for shipping to OUST Ft. Benning in February. There is no minimum twelve month enlistment.

Weird... US Army regs indicate you have to attain E-3 (Specialist) minimal with active duty, as the training does not cover any of the Basics (you're expected to know them already, hence the course is really actually pretty short), and that usually requires twelve months. Ah well, we all know SOCOM does a bunch of weird stuff. Then again, you telling us contradicting info (and really telling us you're a member in a public area (aka an internet forum)) is breaking some regs, but who are we to judge? XD

It doesn't say that anywhere, not sure where you got that.

You can volunteer for Selection out of OSUT. Infantry doesn't go to basic combat training, they do a separate course called 'One Station Unit Training' which combines BCT and Advanced Individual Training - Infantry (AITINF) for a 14 week course. The only difference is that enlisting to X-Ray gives you a significant monetary bonus whereas volunteering doesn't give you anything. Furthermore, with my advanced degrees I enlist as an E4 Specialist.

I'm allowed to say that I enlisted to 18 X-Ray, I just couldn't tell my real name, the names of my selection course mates, dates, training regimen, or to what 'group' I'm assigned should I make it that far.

JP 3-05 and would be my source, published several months ago in accordance to the shift to Fourth-Gen Warfare (the rapid need for operators requires prior service) and Information Security (the displaying where you're going on a technological/public/traceable area such as a forum) sections. Plus, my 4 (going on 5) years of studying international relations, law, and US military clandestine doctrine (undergraduate and now in graduate). Not to mention, but every Special Operator who we've met in our classes definitely didn't call himself "prestigious" (alarm bell #1 for people on the internet claiming to be military (especially spec ops): they talk themselves up).

I dunno, your claim seems weird to me, but you have no reason to want me to believe it XD We'll carry on!

I didn't call myself prestigious, I was responding to the person saying that the army was the least prestigious branch, to which I said that I wouldn't say that it wasn't. Also keep in mind that I didn't say I was in, I openly said that I had just enlisted and had not even entered OSUT yet. Your information is, however, incorrect. I invite you to go to the Army website and look up 18 X-Ray and the terms for enlistment.

Hopefully not coming off as pissy, trust me I'm not bro :)

You've also clearly never met a special operations forces soldier/sailor because especially SEALs, they're the most arrogant people you'll ever meet. My experience for this: six years working for the US National Navy UDT-SEAL Museum Association (08-present) as a volunteer.

I took a look at the goarmy.com site, and I've got a question for you Americans; is 30 days of vacation considered a lot for you guys?
