True, and the goal was a beauty.

But the game was a nail-biter. It would have been a pithy for it to be decided by a shoot-out. Poor Messi couldn't buy a goal to save his life.

I can't wait for the Premier League to start.

True Brumbys, and it was a treat to see 2 teams trying to win the game as opposed to 2 teams trying to not lose the game. Argentina might have fared better if some of their shots actually were on goal, but never mind. They generated chances.

One risky space rescue coming up. A nice new issue.

Welcome back Agropia. Long time no see.

Yes Agropia, welcome and how long has it been since we all parted company...just curious because my memories failing me now. :)

Another short stay for Agropia. Great holiday Monday. Rain....

Rain rain go away. Come back some other day...

So it came back today.

You should go play in it!

Does riding the motorbike in it count as play? I do that a lot.

In the rain? Not with the drivers we have around where I live.

I am without question the most sane motorcycle rider on the Isle of Wight. Riders here ride on the centre line between traffic moving in both directions, while wearing shorts, t-shirts and sneakers. While stopped at traffic lights they worm their way to the front of the line, then cut to whatever lane they need to be in as soon as the light changes. I think they take the p*** as they say here, and make us look bad. I was taught (in Canada) that a motorcycle is a motor vehicle like any other, and should travel in its place on the road (and guard it) just like a car would. I have been told that people are taught that having 2 wheels is an advantage to be taken at all times here, and yet I took 2 seperate motorcycle safety courses here and was never taught that riding the centre line was a good way to beat congestion, or that weaving through stopped traffic to get to the front of the line was an acceptable thing to do. It's the Isle of Wight for God's sake. Getting anywhere 2 or 3 minutes faster is not worth risking your safety for.

I actually don't mind riding in the rain in daylight as long as it's not cold, and I'm heading somewhere where I won't have to sit in wet clothes. I have excellent rain gear so it's not a problem if I know in advance or have to head out and it's already raining.

Having said that, I have come off a motorcycle five times in my life, and four times it was wet. :(

Down goes Sir Ivor and Twin Smokestacks... :(

It is with deep sadness I announce the passing of our dear friend Ormrod. I knew his health was precarious from the last time I spoke to him, and from some of his posts here recently. I called him last week and learned from Mrs. Ormy that he had gone into a hospice, and his situation was grave. I received a call last night from Mrs. Ormy telling me of his passing. Ormy was one of the original members of the NationStates region who departed to help found this region. Ormy, Cari, Jamesy, and I spent hours together on MSN back in the early days, recruiting for the region, bantering back and forth, and in the case of Ormy, building a lasting friendship. He was an intelligent, warm, funny, and giving man. A true gentleman. On two occassions when he and Mrs. Ormy travelled to the island and Portsmouth we were able to get together and break bread and have a few drinks. He was a great guy to hang out with. He will be missed.
