I would disagree. Here is an email that I wrote trying to explain the basics and intricacies of the game:

The Basics
What is the game? It is a game where you are the leader of a country and deal with issues that can affect many things, especially your country's Civil Rights, Political Freedoms, and Economic Freedoms.
How do I be a part of it? Go to www.nationstates.net and create a new nation.
Creating a Nation
On Page 1, you are able to change the classification to anything you want once your nation reaches 500 million citizens (you gain about 5 million every day, without a way to stop it).
You could (and probably should) change your national flag to a custom one after the nation is created (see "In the Game").
The government option does affect how your nation starts off
On page 2, the quiz, it will not only affect how your nation starts off, but I want to warn/make you aware that you don't need to answer every question.
In the Game
Let's start with your nation's homepage. The pictures on the top are banners that you can add/remove in Settings.
The words in gray underneath the name of your nation (for me, it's "Civil Rights Lovefest") represent the category your nation is in. This can change based on how you answer issues.
The three colorful blocks under your motto are the three categories that affect your category and can be changed based on how you answer issues.
Underneath those, are a bunch of other pages about your nation that give you more information.
In the paragraphs on your homepage, the first discusses general ideas, the second is about your priorities, based on what you spend your money on, the third is about your economy, the fourth shows the results of the four most recently solved issues and crime rate, and the last sentence shows your ranking in a randomly picked category, for which you will win badges at that you will eventually see underneath that paragraph.
Regions: Every nation is part of a region (I am in the region called Esamir), and you will start out in one of the "Pacific" regions. The "Pacific" regions are game-created, and in general, other ones are user-created. I highly recommend reading and looking at the user-created regions, and moving around a bit until you find your community. You will receive many telegrams trying to convince you to join a certain region, and you are welcome to read them, but don't get bogged down in them. In many regions, your region is considered the entire world. Use the RMB (Regional Message Board) of each region to talk to other nations and see how to get involved (you need to join the region first), since every region is different.
Now let's go through the sidebar and top bar. On the side bar, you will first see your nation's flag faded with your nation's name on top. Below that is an ad. After that is your region's page. After that is the World Assembly...
The World Assembly: Basically NationStates' (often abbreviated to NS) version of the UN. You have to apply for membership, but you should be accepted as long as you only have one nation in the World Assembly. You can then vote in the General Assembly and Security Council (they are both open to all WA members). Also, you can endorse other WA nations in your region. This does nothing other than tell them, "I like your nation."
After the WA button, is the "The World" button. This is an overview of all nations and regions in NS. I rarely use it, but as a way to find new regions, go to it, click "Move to a new region," then scroll to the bottom where you see the word cluster. Open a new tab and go to page=tag_search/type=region/tag=x, where x are the things you want in a region that are listed in the word cluster on the previous page. You can use more than one, where spaces are underscores (_), and they are separated by commas.
I never uses the Dispatches or Forum pages, but there are nations who spend a lot of their time on the forums. That's really it for the sidebar. You will see a (1) by the News section if there is anything out-of-character (OOC) info you need to know about.
Now, the top bar. After your flag, there are notices. These can be changed in Settings, but they tell you when something related to your nation happens in the international community.
Issues: You get two of these a day, and as I said at the beginning, they affect many things, but especially the categories in the colored blocks on your nation's page. You can change the number per day in Settings.
Oh, I forgot to mention earlier that if you don't log in for 28 days, your nation will "cease to exist," i.e. apocalypse.
Next, Telegrams. Yeah, in this modern day in age, international communications are through telegrams. You will receive many telegrams from regions at first, and then your region leaders might use them to talk to a region as a whole. Without paying any money, you can have 20 telegrams in your inbox and can send telegrams to up to eight people at once.
Settings. As I said earlier, you can change your country's classification to anything, not just from the dropdown, after you reach 500 million citizens. You can upload a custom flag, choose which banners you want, change the number of issues you want, etc.
Hope you like it!

This is not to say it's hard once you get it, but there's a lot going on at once.

Have been attacked by a crazy trump supporter on twitter on called the Fact Checker for the past 4 days now after I tweeted this: “India cries when Trump makes racist remarks against immigrants, but it's okay when the BJP comes to power in Assam spewing the same hate against Bangladeshi immigrants."

What's scary is that there is a striking similarity between Modi and Trump supporters on twitter. (Been attacked by both on twitter)

I kind of stopped talking politics on Twitter after I started proving both Trump and Hillary supporters wrong in their arguments. The best thing you can do is block them, and move on.

Twitter is so toxic.

Anyone else have John Oliver's "Make Donald Drumpf Again!" browser extension?

I mean I understand people hating Donald Trump, but isn't Hillary basically just as bad. The way I see it Donald Trump is the lesser of two evils because he doesn't have the ability to do things secretly and get away with it, plus he's really brash and upfront. Hillary on the other hand is a snake and you'll only realise that you've been royally f*cked once she leaves office. Donald on the other hand will be kept in check by the media, public and the rest of the government representatives.

Also is deporting illegals really that bad? They are illegals. He's not saying anything against the proper Mexican migrants, he's just against the border jumpers. Is it wrong for a nation to secure it's borders these days? Is that really what political correctness has come to...

I'm in complete support of him building a big wall and kicking out the illegal immigrants. I'm not in support of him "making mexico pay for it" or kicking out illegals who were born in the US. I reckon people who arrived in the US as children (say under 12) should get given residency. Every other illegal can get deported though.

It's not his anti-illegal immigrant stance that makes him a racist ba*tard. It's his brash generalisations.

The United Kingdoms of Zackalantis wrote:It's not his anti-illegal immigrant stance that makes him a racist ba*tard. It's his brash generalisations.

The man does have no tact whatsoever. And Anti-Illegal immigrant isn't racist lol. It's called illegal immigrant for a reason! It's someone who doesn't have the right to be in the country sneaking in ILLEGALLY and disregarding the borders. It's like your neighbour jumping the fence and using your pool without telling you. It's not racist to kick them back out once you find them.

But brash generalisations just shows the man is ignorant and small minded. I mean he was talking about how the "illegal mexicans" are bringing along all this crime and stuff, which could be correct. They way in which he said it lacked tact and diplomacy. At the end of the day, that's still the lesser evil. I don't consider him "racist". Racism is open hate based one ones skin colour. I don't think that's the case with Trump, he's just extremely nationalistic and a bit of an idiot.

He's kinda like NZ's Winston Peters. Yet my parents and I vote Winston Peters because he's nationalistic, and in his eyes we're kiwi citizens and hence full Kiwi's. The man lacks tact and tends to make stupid comments, but he's extremely nationalistic and considers anybody who is a New Zealand citizen who embraces the NZ lifestyle to be a complete kiwi. Some other Indians don't assimilate, or want to bring over all 7 billion family members and consider him racist. My parents and I are Indian, but his policies are good for the country and ultimately good for us, we've assimilated and are completely legal citizens with no intention of exploiting loopholes in the migration system to bring over every extended family member who's going to be nothing but a drag on society. Nor do we want the government to give out ridiculous funding for bullsh*t minority groups or make it so that people can live in an English speaking country and not speak a word of English. I'm for a fair and equal NZ government that puts it's citizens first each and every time. Hence I vote NZFirst, and hence I back Winston Peters. Trump is a stupider version of Winston (Winston has really well thought out policies), but ultimately if I lived in the US I'd be voting Trump this election. If Bernie was the democratic nominee I'd be inclined to vote for him, but if it comes to Clinton vs Trump, it'll be Trump every time.

Racism is a card used by minority groups who want a free ride. Yes there is some legitimate racism, examples of which are Neo-Nazi's and the KKK. But nowadays it seems like putting your own nation first, your OWN CITIZENS first and making a dictation between "Us and Them" is considered racist. To the migrants who move illegally, they did so ILLEGALLY, so what's wrong in punishing them. To the migrants who enter a nation and expect it to change for them, for it to accommodate them completely so that they don't have to make the slightest attempt to assimilate, I have to use a statement the Australian's love so much "If you don't like it here, go back where you came from". If you come to this country, you come here to be one of us, not to make us one of you. You change to accommodate the country, not the other way around. Ultimately nobody is forcing you to move and if you don't like how we live here, then you can just not come!

That'll be your allocated rant for the week from yours truly. This is by no means directed at anyone here, but just in general.

However, I do have to add that you guys are kinda screwed for choice here. Like Trump is by no means good, the mans a bad leader and a massive idiot. I'm just saying Clinton would be worse.

Why oh why couldn't Bernie win the democrat nomination? :(

Hillary is a corporate sellout and corrupt as hell, but she's by no stretch of the imagination as bad as trump. She'd basically be a third term of either Bill or Obama, not the first term of American Mussolini.

India rooting for Hillary.
It's kinda like a game show. It's fun.

I highly doubt Trump would be thaaat bad. Plus there'll be a tonne of checks and balances to prevent some of his more extreme/idiotic policies from ever coming into play. Hillary on the other hand is a snake, she'll avoid the checks and get away with anything. Honestly this election is like getting shot in the left hand or the right hand, but it's a democracy so you get to choose which hand. Each person will argue which hand is the better one to get shot in, but at the end of the day both still loose.

Trump will always be way worse than Hillary. Because Hillary may be a sellout but she's still bound by the Democratic Party and will clearly push some slow but still progressive reforms.

Trump on the other hand is going to do whatever the hell he wants. He looks pretty damn serious on his wall thing. Which is impractical and will cost a stupid amount of money. Not to mention, although the immigrants are illegal, they aren't violent. And making programs to expel immigrants just so they can go through his gate at the wall is just a stupid and expensive plan. The racism associated with Trump isn't that he dislikes illegal immigrants, it's more the fact that he's calling them all rapists and murderers and drug dealers. On top of all of this, half of the world leaders have already condemned him publicly. Trump is just a massive no.

Yet somehow he's up 3 points or something on Hillary in recent polls.

British free state

Ever heard of Silvio Berlusconi? Perfect examples of what Trump would be. Hillary isn't great but she's 10x better than Trump.
