Sorry its been forever BC & NE, but i finally responded. Things are looking bright for me, I walked out on my job Saturday and spent the most part of today filling all the gaps i left behind here on NS. Looking forward to moving along with Ala Moana...

Also, if any others want to get involved please do, i appreciate NE jumping in with this. BC was dragged into it, haha

Holy smokes! I have some catching up to do it looks like. Nicely done.

I also have the start of an apocalyptic plague type RP written up that would be set in Astyria. Anyone interested? My thinking was that there would be a few scattered survivors around the region that would eventually find each other ala BBC's Survivors or Stephen King's The Stand. I would probably open it up to all of NS, with conditions that they have to be realistic and it has to take place in Astyria somewhere, along with a few other rules. I have a bit more in store for it, but I don't want to spoil it.

Seems like a good idea...maybe reduce the amount of apocalypse to an area(?) and have some medical research that would last for months while the pague gets worse and worse

It's complicated, but at first, yes, this would happen then things would get too out of control. I wrote it up from the POV of a guy who was already past all that and everyone was pretty much dead. But I also had in mind a lot of flashback sequences to when people first started reacting to the news and people were first infected. It would be up to everybody to write their own flashbacks and decide if their characters knew each other before everything went to crap.
Maybe there would be chance meetings of some folks that had no idea that was going to happen or that they would meet the same people later after it all went down. There's a lot of potential. The idea was the focus would be more on the survival part and good and bad groups forming rather than the earlier timeline of trying to contain or stop the infection. This is NOT zombies, btw, for everyone's info. No zombies. People got a bad flu and died. That's it. A few people went berzerk knowing that the world was ending and rules didn't really apply anymore.

I find that idea excellent NE, and no zombies is a refreshing twist.

I will participate, as soon as I get this hellish week over with.

Yeah and a GHawkins Arleigh Burke destroyer surviving it all and... waaaait that sounds a lot like the Last Ship (I had to).

I like the idea. Although I like the zombie survival genre, it is a bit overdone. This would make fighting for survival, not against some "enemy" but against the elements, wildlife and fellow man a nice change. Something like I Am Legend, but without the vampires or Will Smith.

It is with great regret that I announce I can no longer be responsible for the Astyria GE&T Directory due to a few things in my personal life. Not cut out for the job any more. I do hope it gets a good home if anyone even thinks it's worth revival still...

Woody, no problem. As you know, RL always takes precedence over NS. Take care of yourself first.

And for those who aren't - I know several of you are - you're welcome to add me on facebook. TG me and I'll give you my information so you can find/add me. :)

Don't worry G, a BC sub will come and save the say when your sailors nuke their ship on some random island :)

Sorry, incompetence in the GHN is frowned upon. On the other hand, we do like BC underwater freight trains (read; your subs) to come to the "rescue" and then colliding themselves with something underwater. Really, everything in the recreation room on the ship is inferior to the comedy provided by BC sailors trying to lodge their ship out of a reef.

I'm guessing you never read to the end of last ship :/

I think he was referring to the Michael Bay series based off the book. No spoilers please! As cheesy and factually inaccurate as it is, I'm still a fan and want to see what happens next. Season Two is starting up soon.

gol some stuff awaits your reply

I have the book... Just need to finish the last 100 pages of "The far side of the world" first...

I know. Is there any way to retcon the gate guard at SL hanging off the mirror of your truck like a monkey? I wasn't aware of that particular truck's cab configuration. You kind of made him look like a dummy and SL wouldn't have schmucks working their first line of defense.

sorted

Let's get some candidacy bids, people! Come on! Gimme a D! Gimme a E! Gimme a M! Gimme a A! Gimme a C! Gimme a R! Gimme a A! Gimme a Z! Gimme a Y! What's that spell?!...oh.

DEMACRAZY!
