The fewer people who are legally addicted to alcohol, the better.
In my opinion it should be 25. That way your brain is developed so it won't hurt you unless you get drunk. 25 is what my my brain says is a good idea and 18 is what my stomach says is a good idea.
However at 18 you are more likely to learn your limits and how to drink responsibly. Chances are you are still living at your parents house, driving your parents car, etc.
There is far more pressure to not go overboard. People will always find a way to drink if they want to, even if its illegal but this way you are less likely to end up in the hospital, jail or dead.
How about drinking can be outlawed, it would help the teens develop into strong people instead of alcoholics.

Greetings citizens of the Empire
I come to you today while our region is at a crossroad. I am sad to say that the Empress has been absent for an extended period of time. While I have faith that she will return, there is no way to know how long it shall be. Prior to her disappearance we had begun planning to announce a new heir for the two of us. With her gone, that announcement falls on me alone. When Empress Aayla and I decided to name an heir, there was no doubt in our mind as to who we would pick. The man we chose is one whose skills and contributions to the Empire are beyond reproach. It is my honor to name Darth tenebris as the Crown Prince of the New Galactic Empire.
I look forward to continuing to serve the Empire with him at my side, and I am sure the Empress will share my sentiments.

It's been tried before. In fact it was outlawed in the US for a very short amount of time. During that time the crime rate shot up and you saw an increased rate of smuggling and black market activity, both of which are bad for the economy. Oh, and people STILL drank. So it really has no point whatsoever since it has already proven to be a failed idea.

Unfortunately it was simple economics of supply and demand. They outlawed it so the demand skyrocketed... smugglers were able to meet that demand even if not legally. As long as there is a demand, it goes without saying there will always be a way to get the supply.
As for the drinking age topic, being from Canada the drinking age is 19 in some spots and 18 in others... it hasn't really affected us up here a great deal. Also being a military man I find it mildly insulting in the United States you are old enough to serve and die for your country at 18 but you can't have a simple drink until your 21
Also most people I know who get black out drunk or need to go to the hospital are actually underage drinkers because its exciting and forbidden. If these kids could just grab a beer when they want one instead of sneaking vodka or tequila in water bottles maybe they wouldn't get alcohol poisoning.
Yeah, it would seem like a normal occurrence, nothing mysterious or exciting. It would be like soda, albeit different effects. People would move on to something else not allowed.
That all said i am very much in favor for a drinking age obviously. I personally think 18 is the perfect age, it's when you can vote [here] gamble, buy tobacco products and serve in the Armed Forces and. Once your old enough to do all that you are more then responsible to have alcohol.
I find that's why during high school everyone goes.conplwtely overboard and it's so "cool" to drink, exactly as has been saod,its the forbidden fruit

Texas, where I'm from, has intense amounts of underage drinking. If we lowered the drinking age we would probably at least help out with college age kids.
Seeing as how my time as Moff of Foreign Affairs is supposed to be temporary I am now appointing a Vice Moff of Foreign Affairs. Raslekx has agreed to leave the office of Vice Moff of Imperial Affairs and enter into the foreign office as the Vice Moff. Even with the Moff of IA having to deal with RL troubles (as she has informed me via Private Message) there are sufficient people in the region to make up for her absence in terms of enforcing immigration law and accepting citizenship applications. I look forward to training Raslekx into one day becoming the Moff of Foreign Affairs.

I think 18 drinking age for beer and light stuff like that is perfectly fine like we have it here in Norway, but for stronger stuff like liquor should be 21.
