The Federation Army is the armed force of Novovaritsya, and known for it's size and participation in several wars. The Federation Army is fighting under the direct order of the president, although when Novovaritsya was invaded, the army is led by the ministry of defense while the president will keep the morale of Novovaritsyan citizens high. The Federation Army is made up of 1.5 million soldiers, and every soldiers are trained using the real life battle simulation system. (check out the equipment of the Federation Army here)

The Coup
In the beginning, the tsar and his family held a huge party to celebrate the birthday of the tsar. Given that the empire was at war and deeply in debt at the time, seeing the nobles partying in Victory Square enraged the people of Gorod Pobedy. The news of the party spreads across the country like wildfire, and it also reaches the high commander of the royal army, Field Marshal Leon Isakov. Isakov was dissatisfied with the tsar's actions while his men were dying on the front lines. He immediately contacted King Arthur IV of Hargland to have some words, and he didn't forget to tell his men to cease fire. The tsar didn't know about it, and Isakov knew exactly that it was a huge betrayal, although he did it for the good of the Varitsyans. Isakov and King Arthur IV held a negotiation somewhere in the Greensea Forest. The two agreed to stop fighting, although every Varitsyan in Hargland will be taken back to Varitsya. The Varitsyan Imperial Army returned home, and the tsar was upset. He was about to send a letter to Field Marshal Isakov until 10 military trucks and a car entered the palace. They were all moving at a very high speed; they broke through the gate of the palace without struggling.
The convoy stopped. Around 120 soldiers left the trucks, and Field Marshal Isakov himself stepped out of his car. He then tells the tsar to get out of his castle and negotiate with him, or else his men will burn the palace. The tsar decided to step out of his palace, and as they stood face-to-face, Isakov told the king to step off his throne and give control over the country to Isakov, while the nobles would only get an honorary title although they would not be allowed to interfere with the country's government. The tsar had no choice but to accept it, and thus the coup was ended. Knowing that the tsar had decided to step down, 7 noblemen decided to stand against Isakov.
When the 7 noblemen told their army to guard the borders facing the military-occupied territory, and if they can, they will take every single city from the hands of the military, the snow covered the entire Varitsya. However, considering that Isakov is an experienced military commander, the loyalists are not an equal match to Isakov's army anymore. To make it easier for Isakov to distinguish between the two forces, he ordered his men to wear white winter cloaks that covered their vests and uniforms, as well as ushanka that covered their helmets. They have the resources necessary to stop the rebels, and thus they quickly began to reach the border. General Alexandr Ulyanov and General Georgy Barclay, two of the country's best generals at the time, command the army on the border.
During that war, there's a famous battle called "the Battle of the Heroes," where General Alexandr Ulyanov's army and Duke-General Pyotr Boyko's army fought against each other. Both generals are known for their participation in the annexation of Lyutstatin Island, which of course showed the world that Varitsyans can also fight in wars. Duke-General Boyko almost won the battle, but his army was ambushed in the Volyatsk Forest by Ulyanov's army. Ulyanov also ordered his men to form a line on Duke-General Boyko's retreating route in order to finally stop the duke from keeping fighting against Ulyanov's forces. Hopeless and due to a lack of resources, Duke-General Boyko decided to retreat.
While the civil war hasn't ended yet, King Arthur IV of Hargland decided to call on his four allies to form a coalition named the "Order of the Sword" to divide Varitsya into several smaller pieces. The invasion started on the island of Lyutstatin, where they quickly annexed the entire island. The entire Varitsya was shocked, although Isakov immediately gathered his forces and moved towards the city of Viryatovsk to make sure the coalition army didn't immediately reach the capital. They evacuated the people in Viryatovsk and destroyed the city. They also planted several explosives and concealed themselves among the ruins, preparing to ambush the coalition force. There were approximately 50,000 coalition soldiers marching towards Viryatovsk, and their guard was down because they believed the city had been destroyed. As soon as half of the coalition army entered the city, the bombs were detonated. Isakov and his men left their hiding places to kill the shocked coalition soldiers. Around 22,000 coalition soldiers were killed, 15,000 were injured, and the remainder, 6,000, surrendered and were arrested, while the remaining 7,000 soldiers retreated. The battle was won by Isakov.
In the North, the nobles and the military decided to cease fire and focus on the coalition force in the South. They immediately move to the south with trains and trucks, while the army's and the noblemen's air force and navy try to stop the coalition air force and navy from helping the coalition forces on the ground. In 3 weeks, the trains carrying around 1,000,000 Varitsyan soldiers arrived in the southern city, and they immediately moved towards the battlefield. The trucks carrying around 200,000 soldiers arrived in the southern city in 3 months, although they immediately went to the battlefield. The coalition was shocked when they realized the Varitsyan nobles and the military had decided to work together for Varitsya. They retreated to the Lyutstatin, where once again the army led by General Alexandr Ulyanov and Duke-General Pyotr Boyko reclaimed the island without the help of the other generals, air force, or navy. The news of the Varitsyan victory against the coalition reached the United Kingdom of Marceum, which forced the coalition to stop the war, and the war was ended with the Varitsyan victory. Meanwhile, Isakov and the nobles agreed that the Northern nobles will keep their title, their land, and their army, although they have to be loyal to the central government. The war was over, and Isakov used the peaceful time to form the new government and establish the Federation of Novovaritsya (or New Varitsya).
Back in 1993, the Novovaritsyan government faced off against the Ilyatchen Liberation Front, a huge group of armed people wanting to liberate themselves from Novovaritsya. Novovaritsya responded to their aggressive actions by sending armed forces to Ilyatchslava, the capital of Lyutstatin. The Novovaritsyan Naval Lander Force and Spetsnaz were defending themselves against the Ilyatchen Armed Forces. They were besieged in Ilyatchslava for almost 7 months, while on the other side of the island, many attempts launched by the Federation Army to defeat the ILF were unsuccessful. Undersupplied and exhausted, the besieged army surrendered to the ILF. A treaty will be signed a month after the Federation Naval Lander Force surrenders to the ILF, and it was signed in Ilyatchslava.
The Novovaritsyan military officers found their mistakes during the Ilyatchen War and decided that a military reform was required. It would later be known as the Lyudonov Doctrine. The Federation Army was forced to adapt this new doctrine by practicing it in their military academies. Novovaritsya declared a reunification war against Lyutstatin, and thanks to the new war doctrine, the Federation Army beat the ILF in just 8 months. The ILF was forced to retreat to Ilyatchslava. They learned from their mistakes in the 2nd Lyutstatin War, but it was too late. The Federation Naval Lander Force besieged the city, resulting in the deaths of 4,387 soldiers on the Novovaritsyan side and 1,948 soldiers on the Lyutstatin side. It was indeed a bloody battle. However, the ILF is undersupplied and outnumbered 5 to 1, resulting in their surrendering to the Federation Army. A treaty was signed. Lyutstatin became a part of Novovaritsya again, but the Lyutstatin Republic will become an autonomous region under the Novovaritsyan government.
In early 2016, a law enforcement officer killed a Hargland citizen in Viryatovsk, which enraged several Hargland citizens in Viryatovsk and Hargland sympathizers. Protests erupted in Viryatovsk. People are not just protesting; some are causing more violence by burning things, exploding stuff, stealing cars, killing others, etc. The Special Armed Law Force (SALF/SVP) was deployed to calm the situation down. However, unfortunately, it was too late for them to realize that most of the protesters and the cop in Viryatovsk had been infected by an unknown disease. It's coming not from a normal virus but from some kind of fungus that blends in with the blood of their victim, taking over the nervous system and controlling the body of their victim. Even though they appear human on the outside, their brains are already infested with the fungus. The SVP cannot stand any chance against the infested, and thus the ministry of defense decided to deploy the Viryat Minutemen to open the "Fort Medved" for the survivors and to establish checkpoints around Viryatovsk.
To prevent the fall of the fort and the checkpoints, the Novovaritsyan Law Enforcement Command decided to deploy several police officers to patrol the city, and if they can, they will take some survivors to the fort. The Governor of Viryatovsk, Andrey Igorov, ordered the SVP to aid the police force while the Viryat Minutemen guard the checkpoints. It doesn't end very well. A checkpoint was attacked and destroyed by the infested. General Georgy Lyudonov dispatched several tanks to close the highway and eliminate the infested, which proved effective. The war against the dead was ended when the ministry of defense ordered the Federation Air Force to destroy the city by dropping several bombs on it. It did kill some survivors, but in the end, the infested were gone. The Dead War was over, although the disease still exists.

Ground Force

The Federation Ground Force is the largest branch within the Federation Army, and it is made up of 840,000 soldiers, or around 40 divisions. The Federation Ground Force is the first military branch to ever be formed under the federal government since the coup era and has faced a number of reforms and modernizations. The Federation Ground Force received more armaments than the other branches, thanks to its quantity and to how they became the government's most trusted military branch in the Federation Army. The Federation Ground Force is operating under the command of General Ezvan Alezhandirovich Isakov, who also serves as the current governor of Karlenka and has been awarded multiple military medals and honors, especially for his major contribution in the Third Ilyatchen War.
The Federation Ground Force doesn't only consist of the ground force itself. They also have an amount of helicopters, either combat-purpose or utility-purpose, and the Naval Lander Force, along with the VDV, is included as a part of this force as well. Even though the Naval Lander Force was a part of the Federation Navy, the soldiers are still fighting in a water area, making them less different from the ground force as well as the VDV. However, even though they were all parts of the Federation Ground Force, both the VDV and Naval Lander forces have their own commanders. For VDV, their commander is Lieutenant General Hugo Olyegovich Maydanov, while for Naval Lander Force, their commander is Lieutenant General Patrov Ryamzanovich Vatutin.

The Federation Naval Force is the current main defensive component of the Federation Army, considering Novovaritsya is surrounded by seas and has a high chance of being attacked from the sea as well. Made up of 12 fleets and 240 combat-purpose ships, the Federation Naval Force is considered advanced and pretty well-trained to conduct a fight against possible opponents. The Federation Naval Force has seen actions in many wars outside of Novovaritsya, thus making them well-known for their reputation in naval combat, naval engineering, and their advantages. Furthermore, the Federation Naval Force is also made up of 12 aircraft carriers, each of them ready to be deployed for the motherland whenever a war is waged. There are two kinds of Federation Naval Force fleets. The larger one, consisting of 8 navy fleets, is the home defense fleet. The smaller one, consisting of four fleets, is the international intervention navy. Though divided into two separate commands, the whole Federation Naval Force is still under the command of Admiral Flota Izvan Boryazovich Kasparov, Novovaritsya's admiral of the naval force.
By default, the Federation Naval Force doesn't only consist of ships and sailors. They have their own aerial units, consisting of a fleet of VH-12, VH-15S, VHA-5, VHA-8, and VHA-9 OG 22, OG 23, and OG 25 aircraft. The navy's aerial units, however, are not separated from the navy itself, unlike, for example, the VDV and the Ground Force. Instead, the navy's aerial units were all under the command of Admiral Flota Izvan Boryazovich Kasparov, Novovaritsya's admiral of the naval force. However, like what was previously mentioned, the navy is divided into two types: the home defense navy and the international intervention navy. The home defense navy is led under the command of Admiral Andirei Klematovich Pushkin, while the international intervention navy is led under the command of Admiral Leonezh Vasaryuvich Popov.

The Federation Aerial Force is the main component of Novovaritsya's aerial defense, responsible for, as the name suggests, securing Novovaritsyan aerial territory from enemy attacks. According to many sources, the Federation Aerial Force is considered to be advanced and well-armed, ready to counter any kind of attack from any nation, anytime, anywhere. They received their reputation and trust from the country since their contribution during the War of Varitsya, which allowed them to receive the popular name 'Blue Angels' during the war. The Federation Aerial Force is led under the command of Air Marshal Mira Zekharyevich Ryazanova, the first ever airwoman to receive the 'Distinguished Blue Angel Medal' and the first ever female ace pilot, scoring 72 aerial kills and participated in 14 special military operations, mostly were achieved against the Ilyatchen Forces during the Third Ilyatchen War.
The Federation Aerial Force's task is not just to protect the Novovaritsyan aerial territory. They are also responsible for searching for missing people and conducting an conducting an immediate evacuation operation from the sky, as well as providing transport for the VDV and/or Spetskom. The Federation Aerial Force can independently try to propose aircraft designs to the central military command, allowing them to develop even faster than the rest of the army. Their latest aircraft is none other than the OG 26 and OG 27 5th generation aircraft, though according to Air Marshal Ryazanova, the Federation Aerial Force is looking forward to developing the newly planned OG 28 6th generation aircraft.
