A Wolf's Tale Chapter 10

Before I start:

This has taken many chapters. My original plan was for this to be dramatic moment with this build up. I don't think that happened. So chapters 10 and 11 will resolve this and pick back up on the story. Sorry for the slow pace. Now let's begin!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

"Okay," Auri said, frantically searching for answers. "Have you seen a man here. His name is Caelum." He would ask. "Have you seen my friend? He has brown hair, dark skin, and green eyes. He's about 5'11." He would demand. "Have you seen Caelum?!" He would yell. No one knew anything about him. "You should file a missing persons report. People can help then. I'm sorry." People would say. "No, I haven't. I'm sorry." They would apologize and apologize when they didn't do anything.

"Cae- Caelum..." he moaned. "Where are you? Are you lost? Are you okay?" He lost it. His eyes were dialated, his hands were cold. His fangs were showing. He fled the scene and gave up. He went back home.

"Caelum. He's gone." He said numbly. His face said it all; it said, "I am utterly panicked. I have lost my sanity looking for my only gaurdian. He's gone forever." And that was what he meant. Auri turned back and made it to the village. "Why even bother? He's not at home. He's gone." He rolled over onto his back. "I'm alone again. I'm by myself again." He turned onto his stomach and laid there. "I'll just stay here." He told himself.

He watched the clouds roll and the wolves work. He did not care whatsoever. He fiddled with the grass and put his head down. Saxum helped Cae to a doctor. His wife, Stella, followed. She noticed Auri lying on the ground. "Saxum?" She said, getting her husband's attention. "Auri's on the ground over there." He looked at him. "So he is."

"Auri..." Caelum groaned, trying to run to him. "Auri... it's Auri... Auri. Aur-" He turned and squinted in an attempt to see him. He limped over to him. "Caelum, wait." Said Stella, trying to protect him. He didn't hear her. Technically he couldn't hear her that well.

Auri heard movement and looked up. At that moment, the wolves met eyes. Auri stared for a few minutes. His heart was pounding, he was shaking, and his paws were freezing. Caelum fell to the ground.

"C..." Auri passed out from the shock and free rollercoaster ride of emotions.

"Wake up, Stupid; Cae's here." He thought to himself. "Get up!". He couldn't. "Wake up... "

He finally after fighting it, managed to wake up. He was in a tree that was turned into an infirmary, along with Cae and other patients. He looked to his left and saw his Cae. He was asleep. And he didn't question it either; he saw the rise and fall of his chest.

He spent hours watching him sleep. He wasn't going to look away for a second, for he wanted to see him when he woke up.

A nurse walked by the rows of bed-send patients. Auri asked her, "Why am I here?" She answered, "You had a panic attack. Are you feeling any better?" "I feel fine. What happened to Caelum?" He asked, raising up, not knowing that he was having a panic attack right now. "Caelum..." she paused. "Our magic can heal him. He'll be fine."

"But you, you need some time to rest." She said, urging him to go to sleep. "Okay..." He said hesitantly lying down.

He fell asleep; and a few hours later he woke up. He saw 4 nurses using crystals to revive Caelum. They were hanging them from their mouths, right over the many wounds.

"Cae..." he moaned. "Please be quiet or the crystals won't work." A nurse scolded. He got quiet and watched the crystals work their magic. They glowed and sealed Cae's open cuts and scars. They brought feeling back into his body.

He began to toss and turn, and he groaned. Auri became estatic. "Cae! Cae! Cae! Cae! Cae!" he chanted in his head. Cae's eyes began to open and he saw the nurses with the magic crystals. He wanted to scream, but then calmed down. They put their crystals down. He sharply turned his head both directions to find Auri. "Auri, you're here!" He yelled, but then remembered many people were around him.

"It's great to see you better. Now we'll just have to keep an eye on you for 3 days." A nurse said. Caelum looked away from Auri to look at her. "That's good. Am I all better?"

"You are; we'll just have to watch how you do for a few days. You'll be out of here by then." She answered, picking up all the crystals. "Thank you." He said to her as the nurses left the room. "We have thinks to talk about, Cae; many things..." Auri said to him, who was sitting upright. "We can talk about it now, but not too in detail." Cae responded, sitting up too.
