Item #: OC-PSDC

Object Class: Physiological and Psychological Sensory Data Collector

Description: OC-PSDC is a silicon and plastic pill-sized capsule enclosing a wirelessly operated circuit board and sensory data collectors, in total weighing about 104.5 g (0.23 lbs). After implantation, which is a surgical operation to place the device near the sensory cortex of the subject's brain, the device activates and immediately starts to emit strong electromagnetivity and then encodes the captured data into ██████ on an independent server. The device is limited to a total of 2 years of sensory data that can be stored on this server, and upon reaching this maximum, the subject hears a slight buzzing sound emitted from the device (indicating that it can no longer take in new information). The device will then no longer take in new information and remain in an inactive state. Approximately 12-20 hours after the device deactivates, the data collected from the OC-PSDC is automatically uploaded into an individual artificial intelligence machine, thus giving it the ability to use this data as a means of memory, speech, complex thinking, sentience, and free will, and even remove the impairments of illnesses, disabilities, and triple expected lifespan. OC-PSDCs now also include a GPS tracker to monitor subjects until completion of the project.
See OC-SARIS for more information on the artificial intelligence.

Foreward: The following interview is of subject A-1514. Prior to the interview, Dr. ██████ (interviewer) spent a few minutes discussing what will happen, now that the data collection is complete.

Time stamp: 11:38, █/██/2016

<Begin Log>

Interviewer: So, tell me, how are you feeling Mr. ████?

A-1514: Well... good, I suppose. Are you recording this?

Interviewer: Yes I am recording this. Don't worry about it. Do you know how long it's been since your last visit here?

A-1514: I don't know. I loose track of time so easily.

Interviewer: That's alright, we've been keeping track. It's been 2 years.

A-1514: 2 years? Wow.

Interviewer: Yes, it's been a long time. But I brought you here for a good reason, and I should tell you that you're done with the procedure. The data recording has ended.

A-1514: [sigh of relief]

Interviewer: Okay, I'm going to ask you a few questions, if you don't mind.

A-1514: I'm fine with that.

Interviewer: Would you please describe any symptoms you are having relating to the implant?

A-1514: [pause] I've been having a few headaches over the time period, and some are debilitating. Sometimes I don't feel right, like something's missing...

I also get nausea, like I'm on a boat, but I've ever been on one. For weeks straight I was having a bunch of difficulties like this, and I never had a good sense of balance after the surgery.

Interviewer: [writing into a notebook] I see. It seems most of these symptoms correspond to the electromagnetic field coming from the implant, rather than the physical implant itself. I have another question, what is your reason for applying to receive the implant?

A-1514: I feel like it's going to be a big development in the science field, and we could really use it. I really don't have any other reason other than curiosity.

Interviewer: There are just two more questions. How do you feel, overall, with the addition of the implant?

A-1514: Not as bad as some people think. It's relatively painless, but nausea and lack of balance disrupt daily life quite a bit. I'm pretty sure life could be worse, and I'm happy to help with any scientific research such as this.

Interviewer: One more question, what is your moral opinion on the so-called reincarnation of the human mind, even after death?

A-1514: [pause] I never thought about. Not until now, at least. I don't really see a problem with it if you look at the upsides. If people could erase all sort of pain, mental or physical disability, and live better for longer, there is so much more we could do. And life would never be boring. It would allow is as a species to advance, explore any environment, and do what was before impossible.

Interviewer: Thank you very much, Mr. ████. We look forward to seeing you again, and gladly accept your feedback. It has significantly improved our user feedback.

Post-Interview: A-1514 was later showed the sentient automaton that was in stasis for the duration of the interview to prevent [DATA EXPUNGED]. A-1514 immediately agreed with Dr. ██████ to join the Orion Corporation as a medical science researcher.
