Mercedini has participated in the WorldVision Song Contest since WorldVision 48 and debuted in Phoda, Talvezout where Samuel Borlaviac represented the nation with the song, "The Beat" which ultimately placed 19th with 41 points. Since then, Mercedini has entered once more via an internal selection before switching to a national selection in WV50, this was discontinued in WorldVision 55 due to a series of falling ranks. Mercedini has chosen their artist via an internal selection ever since.
Ever since Mercedini's first participation, ENM has been the member station which owns the rights to broadcast and participate in the contest. Originally, ENM chose the performing artist via an internal selection with a goal to "promote new talent and give promising young musicians a chance to shine on the world stage". However, ENM introduced a national selection for the 50th anniversary of the WorldVision Song Contest called 'SongSearch: Mercedini's Choice, the show is broadcast from the Forcini Auditorium in Mercedini's second largest city; Langtree. The show features 8 artists who have applied to an open application. The large list of songs is whittled down to eight artists, who perform live. The show's results are split 50/50 between international jury and a public vote, where the song with the most points will perform for Mercedini at the WorldVision Song Contest.
Mercedini achieved their first ever Top-10 performance thanks to Rachel Nollov's feel good song 'Unbreakable' which achieved a total 67 points and landed in 9th place in Kyvivre, Britonisea. Following that, Mercedini submitted it's first hosting bid for the WorldVision Song Contest for the 52nd edition, three nation bid and Mercedini came out on top, with it's second largest city in Langtree being chosen to host the contest. This meant a large influx of songs were submitted for the second edition of the national selection with many artists hoping to be given the opportunity to sing in front of their home fans for the first time. M'folo Asante was given the nod after a very tight voting sequence and travelled to Langtree in good spirits. He put in a tremendous performance on stage and managed to claim Mercedini's best performance at the time with a 3rd place finish in front of the home crowd.
After their first podium finish in a WorldVision competition. SongSearch continued onto the 53rd WorldVision Song Contest where Marcus Polton-Mishek was chosen as the participant to be sent to Cherbourg, Normandy & Picardy. He initially came second but ultimately got he ticket after winners Timinder Twins declined to be the Mercedinian representative, which meant Polton-Mishek and his song 'Knew All Along' was sung in their place. He achieved a third successive top ten with a 9th place finish with 59 points which was disappointing following their podium finish but it kept Mercedini near the top for now. Then, Rhythm DMZ became the first act to represent Mercedini more than once after they were part of Mercedini's debut in the WHF. This time, they combined with female vocalist Dimetrix to enter 'My House Is Not A Home' which came through SongSearch after a tight voting sequence with four acts having a chance of winning going into the last set of votes. In Konikstaat, Ekoz, Rhythm DMZ and Dimetrix could match their predecessors and could only conjure up a lowly 14th position which could have been worse, save from 12 points that came from the hosts near the end of the voting sequence.
Following that series of floundering results, ENM decided to discontinue SongSearch for the time being and went with returning to internally selecting up and coming artists with contemporary songs. For the 55th edition, Alicia Mocha was chosen as the representative to head to Dreiichibu-u-Mousiki, Izmedu with her song 'Higher'. There were high hopes for Mocha and she delivered with Mercedini's best result to date, a second place finish and only two points behind the eventual winner Nightom. A late surge of points took her from 9th at half-time to second after the end of voting, only a couple more points would have seen her take home Mercedini's first title.
Being the next pariticpant after a prior 2nd place finish is always a tough job to do, but ENM put that job in safe hands as they selected Leanne Cantrelli and the Santo Davide Gospel Choir to head to Besini for the 56th World Vision Song Contest. They were selected after the very same song came second in the World Hit Festival just months earlier, thus they were given the chance to go one step higher at WorldVision. Unfortunately, that didn't happen but Cantrelli and co. still earned a respectable sixth place with 78 points, their third highest placement and points haul at the time.
WorldVision Song Contest is a hot-topic in Mercedini as approximately 68% of the viewers watch the contest annually where it could even peak to 90% of the public. When Mercedini debuted in the 48th edition, it was the third most viewed TV programme of the year (after The Voice of Mercedini Final and WC Qualification: Mercedini vs. USI). It is not unusual to see artists who feature on WorldVision or SongSearch to have at least some commercial success with their song. It is common that the Mercedinian representative and the winning song at WorldVision hits #1 on the Mercedinian Hot 100 for at least several weeks if not months.

Following Mercedini's success at the adult's World Hit Festival, ENM tried their hand at the Junior WHF to give young stars the opportunity they need to launch a successful career in the future. They debuted in the third edition which was hosted in Fauligekaikobu, Todlichebujoku where Meia Dobrani carried the Mercedinian flag with her song #ComeTogether. Despite being a first timer, Mercedini claimed a well earned bronze medal with 20 points. Including, top marks from Ekoz in the process. It could set up something big in the future if Mercedini can claim a podium finish at the first attempt.
