The 2015 Spartakiad
The 2015 Spartakiad was the first major sporting event to be held in the newly-established Democratic Republic. An open-air arena was built some 70 kilometres southeast of Sofia, designed to host the following events:Association football
Athletics - 100, 200 and 400 m, triple jump and long jump
Boxing - flyweight to welterweight only
Javelin
Shooting
Volleyball
Wrestling - Greco-Roman and freestyle, 55&74 kg only
