Any information I can get on Heliandism from the NS forum is rather vague. If you have anything comprehensive written Prut, I'd appreciate it if you could send it my way. I'm working on my own Stormwegian denomination of Heliandism right now as a part of a much broader religious demographics factbook I'm writing. What would you guys think of a large pagan presence? Either a revivalist movement to justify its significant numbers or just the simple explanation that paganism has always been apart of Stormwegian society, I haven't decided yet.
I have a lot of time for writing right now and on top of the religious factbook I'll have something coming out about political attitudes/parties soon. You can also probably see the new flag by now, which I pieced together this morning. Tell me what you think (about all of this) insights, criticisms, concerns? And update me on the affairs of your nations if you will.
Oof -__- Sadly most of the original info got lost. Backups too; PC issues. I'll try and see if I can scrounge up anything but I can't promise much. If you have specific questions I could probably answer them satisfactorily.
Glad you have time to write ^__^ You're really leaning into the Viking stuff. I'll admit I liked the red version of the flag better; current one is nice too. A bit ominous perhaps? Fehu seems to contradict the colour choice. Othala or Elhaz might gel better, depending on the vibe you're going for.
Can't speak for Kai, but I'm pretty sure we've both been very busy and had little to no time to properly write. I doubt much changed in either IC canon. Kaitjan's still a semi-isolated equatorial multiethnic authoritarian state trundling along. The PM is still a pluricontinental organised practical anarchy mostly concerned with contemporary economic shifts and potential changing of the people in charge.
What do you think of this flag? I'm unsure on this one too, but I'll use them as regional flags if not the national flag.
As for Heliandism, I really only needed to know the current denominations, what differentiates them and is the Heliand a messianic figure or not? Anything else on the Heliand's story would be helpful, as I said previously it is rather vague on the NS forum.
Hopefully we can all get back into full form here as the summer months approach, I'm going to try and recruit some more nations and we can all get some more writing done. I'm disheartened we've lost the forum, it was detrimental for newbies to write their histories and to learn about our canon. Maybe that can be salvaged too? Or is it a lost cause?
I did "save" most of it initially, but literally a week later my hard disc got destroyed in a... freak accident. And I had no secondary backups because why would I? Kai has his stuff saved, I have most of my Prut stuff on the NS forum and the rest didn't really need to be salvaged, and we were down to three people anyway; it didn't seem like a big deal at the time. Kai got enrolled, I got a busy job, time passed, and it kind of faded. Sorry :(
Yeah, I've got a lot planned for summer ^__^ Since I can't travel anywhere anyway, and my family can't visit me, I'll have almost a whole month of free time. I reserved it for NSing and a playthrough of Disco Elysium :D And catching up on a few series and films. It will be fun and relaxing. And you've just given me incentive to write, rewrite, and further develop Heliandism, if it can wait til summer. Perhaps try and concentrate on other aspects of Stormvag? Kai and I had fun with Gaisaric and extrapolating from that—maybe you'll write something similar ;)
Also, just a friendly advice. The colour scheme black-red-white and runes, especially if it's predominantly red, might have certain unpleasant connotations and associations. Might be because I'm European and German in particular, but it really seems rather "Central Europe in the 1940s"-esque to me ;) I'm getting concerned for my Sudetes just looking at that and us being neighbours :P
Switching the red and white might solve this. Or maybe a bicolour scheme instead of a tricolour?
That sounds wonderful, I can’t wait for it all to get going again. I’m gonna focus on my pagan religion for now but, I did warn you that a right-wing regime was taking hold. Not to that extreme. But pretty extreme, might associate that with pagan revival, I’m not to sure.
