A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Information Technology industry.

The fire protection service is wholly government-funded, protests are legal but strictly supervised, abortion is only legal in unusual circumstances, and government officials are held to the highest standard of morality. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Dancougar's national animal is the mecha, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the nova.
