The Queendom of Code140 is a massive, safe nation, notable for its national health service and suspicion of poets. People who have good jobs and work quietly at them are lauded; others are viewed with suspicion.

The large, moralistic government juggles the competing demands of Healthcare, Education, and Defense. The average income tax rate is 36.5%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The large but inefficient Code140ian economy, worth 113 trillion yen a year, is quite specialized and dominated by the Tourism industry, with significant contributions from Cheese Exports, Arms Manufacturing, and Trout Farming. Black market activity is notable. State-owned companies are common. Average income is 27,751 yen, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.2 times as much as the poorest.
