The Republic of Aramaki is a massive, environmentally stunning nation, renowned for its rum-swilling pirates, state-planned economy, and ban on automobiles. The hard-nosed, devout population of 3.667 billion Aramakians are prohibited from doing almost everything except voting, which they do timidly and conservatively.

The large, moralistic, socially-minded government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Administration, and Education. The average income tax rate is 43.9%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The large but sluggish Aramakian economy, worth 117 trillion bellies a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a large, well-organized, quite specialized black market in Arms Manufacturing, Uranium Mining, Information Technology, and Woodchip Exports. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is 32,078 bellies, and distributed extremely evenly, with practically no difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Dog breeding has been banned in accordance with recent animal experimentation laws, international tensions are high as Aramaki threatens any government with the audacity to arrest its citizens, the government invades its allies more than its enemies, and Leader has no checks and balances after the upper house was abolished. Crime is moderate, perhaps because of the country's complete lack of prisons. Aramaki's national animal is the marine officer, which is also the nation's favorite main course.

Aramaki is ranked 117,103rd in the world and 723rd in Remembrance for Most Corrupt Governments, with 8.17 kickbacks per hour.
