The funny thing is, no matter what you roll, Tzeench will still claim it's just as planned.

Beinirham wrote:I recall considering a promotional video for a D&D club involving rolling a D20 to determine the outcome of daily activities. Ie: attempt to cross the street, get a low roll and get hit by a bus. Unfortunately, nothing ever came of the idea.

Ah right. Those RPG rulesets where no matter what you do, however simple, there is always at least a 1-in-20 chance of catastrophic failure.

If there were ever enough dakka, there would be nobody left alive to witness it.

Also nobody left undead, so don't get any ideas, Necrons.

Yes, and also a 1 in 20 chance of miraculous success. Once I rolled a critacle fail while trying to attack something with an axe and not only missed but planted it most firmly in the ground. Then while trying to get it unstuck I rolled a natural 20 and fractured the planet.

Certainly, it's great to add fluff to your unit's backstory, literally builds character and adds to the immersion to cement your connection. I would recommend taking note of existing lore as it relates to your unit to ensure a good fit.

I once wrote a story about about the first model I painted*, a Space Marine, about how he became attached to the unit of Catachans Jungle Fighters I was then planning to build. Unfortunately, while I had seen the various factions and had a brief intro about them, at the time I didn't know anything about how a Space Marine or any faithful defender if the Imperium should compose themselves, so the whole thing was very uncharacteristic, with retreating, disertion, and shaken loyalty that didn't make sense to others more indoctrinated with the established lore. It's not neccecary to memorize the whole Lexicanum; however, it does make a difference to consider details of the setting related to the lore you create. (*By the way Games Workshop stores I've been to will offer a sample mini for you to give painting a try.)

Which faction(s) have peaked your interest so far?

Mostly
Chaos
Orks
Imperium of man
and Inquisition

I'm choosing to be a part of chaos because I like the darkness and magic type

The death world of krieg

That sounds like a good fit then.

Nah, the worst poll would be if you told a series of the worst jokes and ask which made us laugh most. Or in your case, the worst would be if you listed a bunch of insults about the Bus for us to pick which we most strongly agree with. Or we could rate gratitude for some samples from that MTA excuse generator.

Oh dear, it's a bit of a paradox, huh? Maximum dakka and minimum sentience. This is the 40K equivalent of "If a tree falls in the forest and there's nobody around to hear it, does it make a sound?" If the universe finally reaches sufficient dakka and there's nobody left to use it, what use is all of that dakka?

You can definitely start working on lore as soon as you'd like. In fact, you don't even need the physical figurines to begin thinking things like that out and work-shopping ideas.

I gave names to my first batch of guardsmen, they have corresponding serial numbers glued to the bottom of their bases. Perhaps I should dig up that list and continue with that.

Hello! Do you have a moment to hear about the good news of our Lord and Savior, the Emperor of Mankind?

Beinirham and The death world of krieg

lol Dang it I'm tempted to put in Empress Havoka in this thread. She hates the Imperium because they took over her world during the civil war. They had their revolution and won but the imperium of man is currently guarding the world.

Hey I want to tell you guys something, I sorta develop my own universe way before I made this nation and before I joined this game. In a nutshell of right now, my nations are going to be in a 2nd 4 civil wars (or 2nd dimensional civil war). Basically in the first civil war its between two groups The Cross Alliance Vs The Crater Alliance. In a nutshell kids started the civil wars because they felt that the crosser betray them, by focusing on the earth and its citizens. So the crossers thought that maybe it will be a good idea to find some group of kids to rebel against themselves. So the kid war was called and it was between the kid loyalist vs the new kid alliance. Then it started to become a domino effect of civil wars, the knights war was a civil war over a new successor, the dog war is a civil war over a cure, and the pirates war is a civil war over a treasure planet. The cross alliance won the civil war but it had to rebuild. These civil wars will be the same as last time but with new aliens that hadn't been discovered before.

Interesting. With all that in-fighting, it sounds like Orks would feel at home.

Beinirham wrote:Interesting. With all that in-fighting, it sounds like Orks would feel at home.

Yeah thats currently what is beginning to happen because one these civil wars will be massive because in a nustshell RL 2018 was a dark time and in my mind I had a planet almost decaying and an invasion by a race of female authoritarians call Montherins. 2019 will be something because right now in my universe everything is dividing; its dividing through race, gender, class, and try to rethink the universe.

oh I forgot to tell you guys, what do you guys think of my lore. Do you have any questions?

I would be interested to know how those kids were able to become a formidable enough force to spark a civil war. Is it an "Ender's Game" scenario?

Basically It was originally my idea for a fan fiction story of KND (Kids Next Door), I had that Idea since the end of that show. Basically in a nutshell I had to re make it somewhat to avoid copy write problems. My original thought is that since show ended on a cliff hanger, I might as well add my own lore. Basically I used the sectors of that they use as battles for the kid/ND war. To make a long and complicated spoiler short all the kid/ND war was over the leader the kid alliance being corrupt and the leader of that alliance wanted revenge. At the end of the kid war the leader of the kid alliance was a clone, he state that the reason why he attack them was because he was afraid of not leaving his job and growing up.

Basically I combined KND, Ben 10, star wars, and my lore all together

Wathkoh wrote:Basically I combined KND, Ben 10, star wars, and my lore all together

Interesting. I'm not familiar with those shows (well, except Star Wars, of course), but that sounds fun. Playing with fan fiction can be a good time, especially for works that end with gaps left in the story.

By the way, I'm not sure how long you've been in this game (your nation is pretty new, but I've no way of knowing if you've had previous nations), but in case you weren't aware, NationStates has a feature called "Factbooks" in which you can flesh out your nation's lore, the tab for which is located on your nation's main page.

Aye, the factbooks will be strong with this one.

Well technically I'll bring some information because I did made some nations post 4 civil war/cold war nations like Comaraka and Trosha through I will keep it condense somewhat in the fact book since this nation is outside of my lores universe. So this nation will have someway to get the information from my earth since that where the 1st Four civil war began.
