Hehe Thanks. I'm fascinated in getting to Warhammer 40K, I like the lore and saw vids of it. I'm new in this fandom so any pointers about the lore will be great.

Welcome to the region!! Warhammer 40k Lore is very deep and broad, the best advice I have for you is to check out the Wiki (https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Main_Page) and browse along to see what looks interesting! There are alot of different factions and sub-factions in this universe and there is something for everybody! If you have any questions at all, feel free to ask anybody at all! Welcome to the fandom friend!

Yeah, the lore is what initially attracted me here as well. When I was younger, I played Warhammer Fantasy, but my cousin recently started playing 40k competitively, and I found myself getting pulled back in again.

I've been reading the Horus Heresy novels, put out by Games Workshop, and they've been pretty great for becoming more acquainted with the lore. I'm only on book 5, and there's something like 50, but I think reading the first book, Horus Rising, would be a great introduction into the universe. You get a lot of background and history, and it's written by one of their better authors.

Seems most folks start elsewhere, though, when jumping into 40k books. I've heard Gaunt's Ghosts and Eisenhorn are very good, focusing more on the small scale action than the more sprawling Horus Heresy series.

Myself, I always prefer:

The writers there have a great sense of humor, so the articles are much more interesting, at least to me. Though, word of warning, it's also much crasser and has lots of cursing. Lexicanum may have more info, but I like to supplement it with 1d4
